We got exellent service. We came to Brig around nine o’clock in the morning, and hoped to have our luggage placed in a luggage room, rush to reach our train to Betten, take a long hike in the mountains, and check in for a shower and a good nights sleep. We communicated with the host about this before we arrived that morning, and when we arrived, we could get our room already! The check-in went fast, we placed the luggage in the room, and reached our train to Betten without running! The location of the hotel is perfect for that kind of plans, and the host’s flexibility was exellent. We enjoyed the room and a very good breakfast.

The location of the hotel is near to the train station, we reached Zermatt, Gspon and Chur while we left our car in the hotel parking with no fee. Our room was a huge apartment we could see the town every direction. I liked especially, that there is a window in the bathroom. Everything was clean and well prepared. The hosts are really friendly. The restaurant is exceptional, we stayed every night there on the terrace.

Brig was truly a hidden gem!

Brig was truly a hidden gem! We stayed at Hotel Victoria, directly across from the train station - which we loved. The main part of the city was really close and in walking distance. Great shops and resturants and gelato shops. They have a little train that goes around the city and gives you another perspective. It was perfect! There was a historic castle with tour. Unfortunately, the tour was in German, but we enjoyed it.

Brig is a pretty town surrounded by mountains.

Brig is a pretty town surrounded by mountains. There are lots of restaurant options and shops and a sweet old town. There is a very striking Palace to visit and some lovely nearby walks, including one to a gorge. They have a local pool and a set of thermal pools a short bus ride away.

A very pretty town, with lovely crisp fresh air.

A very pretty town, with lovely crisp fresh air. Fabulous selection of shops from fashion to food. Friendly and welcoming cafes and restaurants. Particularly like the pretty main square. Overall a feeling of safety and cleanliness.

Great wee town.

Great wee town. The centre was beautiful, as were the surrounding views. We ate at a local wee German restaurant and they seemed surprised we never booked! getting around Brig was easy...just walk, it's not that big. We would have loved to have explored distant villages, but we had no personal transport. We'd come back and explore more.

Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley.

Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley. It represents a train junction both east to west and north to south allowing access to the cities of Bern & Milan. The town is quite and has a few shops and restaurants which only stay open for a short time in the evening. The centre of the town is car free so peaceful to walk around at night. Brig offers transport links by both bus and train to many of the ski resorts in the area. Be aware that travel by train to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn cost 150CF for two people. Drinks & food are expensive in the town but it is safe and pleasant to walk around. There are numerous walks along the river and into the hillside.

Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich...

Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich and Geneva airports and Basel SBB station (a bus goes from Basel airport to Basel SBB), just over an hour by train from Berne. Good hiking opportunities, for example from nearby Naters up to Blatten and further up to Belalp.

The Hotel was easy to locate from the rail station in Brig, albeit a bit more than a short walk, it wasnt too far. The booked a comfort room with its own private facilities, it was clean, tidy and perfectly adequate for our one night stay. The hotel staff were friendly and breakfast offered a good selection of cold meats, cheeses etc.

Beautiful 2nd floor spacious 3 bed room apartment. Panoramic view of mountains all round. Stunning location. Very clean and well maintained property. 10 min bus journey(No 3) from Brig train station. Bus stop right in front of the house. Very handy. Balcony with view of sunset.

A "budget" hotel in a very good location, close to the train station and a one minute walk into town area bars & shops etc. Room was OK & spacious for a single traveller, good sound insulation from local traffic & trains. Good choice of items at breakfast.
