Superb location with lift for train station adjacent to it and hotel also provided free pass for local travel. Sight seeing places nearby. Perfect location for a relaxation getaway surrounded by mountains and Forest. The SPA facilities are out of this world especially the pools and jacuzzis indoor which leads to outdoors overlooking the lake and Mountains. Simply fantastic after a morning trekking in either of the nearby forests we use to indulge and relax at the SPA. Very good variation in breakfast at their restaurant again with fanstastic views of the underneath town of Cademario and the Ticino Lake and surrounding Mountains. There is Free Parking with plenty of parking spaces and all the Staff are super friendly. We would definitely come again.

It is a wonderful property. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The surroundings are beautiful, with a carefully maintained garden, and guests can also enjoy the pool. The staff are kind and helpful. The property has a restaurant where we had some drinks — service was excellent. Breakfast was also very good, with plenty of choice, attentive service, and a lovely dining room. The location is convenient: without traffic, Lugano is not far away. Astano itself is a charming place, making the stay even better. We also brought our dog, and it was clear that she — and other dogs — were genuinely welcomed.

Françoise is the best hostess, she was so kind, hospitable, generous and overall a lovely person. I arrived late at night and it was raining, she drove me to the grocery store to get food since this is situated in a tiny village. She gave me hair ties when I asked to borrow some. She also gave me a ride home from the train station. She made my stay here unforgettable and special.

Great welcome from the hosts and they made it possible to make a very late check in. Lovely breakfast from the lovely staff. The rooms are really comfortable and clean. It was a very short stay for us but we would like to come back again to discover and enjoy more ☺️

The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and it's much quieter than the city center, offering stunning lake views all to yourself. The rooms are also very clean, spacious, and cozy. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Very nice and authentic hotel in the middle of the old village, run by a young and very hospitable young couple. Perfect location for a hiking holiday.
Better to stay here a whole week if you have the time :)

A beautiful, peaceful and safe place with breathtaking views...
A beautiful, peaceful and safe place with breathtaking views over Lugano and the surrounding mountains. Everything was spotlessly clean, comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature and simply unwind. I especially loved the evenings, enjoying the stunning view and the sparkling lights of Lugano.
I would definitely recommend this place and would happily come back!

Correct the hotel location in booking to not show that it is 150 from the center while searching in Lugano area. The hotel location is at the top of the mountain, it tooks more the 25 minutes to reach the hotel up or to go down to the city… nothin around the hotel, no centro, no restaurant… the hotel is in the middle of nowhere

Cademario is half hour from Lugano and its lake.
Cademario is half hour from Lugano and its lake. The last part of drive to the hotel may be intense, in particular if driving a manual transmission car, due to the windings and tight turns of a road going 500 meters up in about 15 minutes. Lugano and nearby villages are worth visiting - for example, Gandria, a small village on the lakeside, 15 minutes from Lugano, almost invisible from the main road due to its location on an abrupt lakeshore. Also, Locarno, Ascona, and Valle Verzasca are worth spending an hour driving north. In particular, Ascona is a great place for dinner, where you can choose from a dozen restaurants along a wide pedestrian street on the side of the lake. Valle Verzasca offers parking areas almost each kilometer due to its beautiful views - in particular Ponte dei Salti (pedestrian medieval bridge) and Cascata La Froda (narrow but spectacular waterfall). Small stores along the road offer 10 Swiss Francs parking passes for most of the parking spots (marked "green parking") all the way to the end of the road in Sonogno.
