"The skiing was great when the weather was clear. I will caution other travelers that due to the altitude, the clouds can come lower than the peaks of the mountains. I highly recommend taking a lesson as our ski school experience was top notch. If you do wind up there on a day with low visibility, follow the people in the red jackets. They are usually instructors who know where they're going. Getting around St Moritz was easy using an efficient, clean bus system. Lastly, if you want chocolate Laderach is really good, but you can also find delicious chocolate at the grocery stores for a fraction of the price."

"There is a great local bakery : Bäckerei / Konditorei Piccolo (Bakery / Pastry).... we visited a couple of times to get filled rolls and drinks to take with us on trips up the mountains. The lady who works there was incredible helpful and friendly even though we had a slight language barrier with me only speaking English. Our fussy teen through the rolls were very tasty. The local buildings are full of history and a walk around the town provides interesting anecdotes to times gone by, written on several buildings. The wild flower meadows in June are beautiful and we found trips up into the mountains well worth it... they are spectacular in the summer."

Such a wonderful place and the whole experience! Every smallest detail is so well thought, the hotel is so clean, new, cozy, and stylish. We had a huge room with great facilities and amazing shower. Breakfast was delicious with many healthy choices, as well as afternoon snacks, ski room so clean and spacious, bus stop just in front of the hotel. One phrase sums this hotel up. “Everything is as it should be.” An absolutely perfect place to stay. One tip - if you’re arriving by train from Tirano get off at Surovas, if the train stops there before Pontresina, it’s then a very short walk (less than 10 minutes) to the hotel.

Spatious rooms, bathrooms as well as the wellness area. There is a dry sauna, a turkish bath, jacuzzi and a relaxation room open 4,5h daily, no reservation needed and never overcrowded even at a peak hour. All perfectly clean. Rich breakfast. Very nice staff remembering your names and needs from minute one on, they feel like your friends. Big ski room with your own locker. Location all right for snowboarders as we did not mind an 8-min walk to the nearest ski lift (there is a shortcut). City centre 15mins walking away. This is a nice part of Livigno with beautiful views and we would definitely stay here again during our next visit.

Amazing hotel with beautiful amenities for guests. Diverse choice of restaurants with amazing menus and service. They provided a free shuttle service to and from the train station which was a fantastic service. The room was beautifully put together with all mod cons. We were sorry to leave, would highly recommend a stay here. Staff and service and facilities were top class especially the amazing breakfast with so much to choose from and omelettes ect made fresh for you on the spot, unreal!

Located right next to the lake and a short walk to the train station. We got a room with lake views which was well worth it. Good breakfast. It would have been nice to have control over the room temperature as it was too high. It would also be good to have more signs of where the hotel entrance is as it can be a bit confusing.

One of the prettiest cities I've ever seen.

One of the prettiest cities I've ever seen. There are a lot of hills, so even walking around you should be prepared for some effort. There were waterfalls visible from a little side street, the beautiful lake, the gorgeous surroundings - I was only there as a stop over and really wished I had more time there. Bike enthusiast heaven!

Silvaplana is very small and quiet village: supermarket,...

Silvaplana is very small and quiet village: supermarket, bakery, ski shop and a couple of restaurants. Cross country ski trails are 10 min walk across the bridge and there are regular buses to take you around to nearby villages. It was perfect place for star gazing and having quality family time :)

A classic hotel with history, which alone makes it worth spending the night there. In addition, in a fantastic location that in the past was only accessible to the happy few. The hotel seems to have aged a bit, but the comfortable rooms, grandeur and views make it worth a visit. an excellent place to start mountain tours or bike tours and explore the Engadin.

A True Swiss Gem

A True Swiss Gem Nestled in the heart of the mountains, this place is pure alpine bliss. The sound of cowbells, the crisp mountain air, and the best raclette I’ve ever had—made from cheese crafted on-site by their own master cheesemaker. A truly unforgettable Swiss experience.

Beautiful location, stunning lake and mountains.

Beautiful location, stunning lake and mountains. However, it's frightfully expensive to stay and to eat and in the shoulder season there's not much to do - no funicular or cable cars working. A good base for scenic train experiences. Very good convenience store at the station.

This quaint old village, with a stupendously picturesque...

This quaint old village, with a stupendously picturesque medieval church rising on a wooded hillock above the nearby fields, is easy to miss as it is (a) by-passed by the main road and (b) the cheaper accommodation is on the outskirts.

Maloja is a very nice and beautiful spot near the Malojapass...

Maloja is a very nice and beautiful spot near the Malojapass to Chiavenna and Italy. From Malaga, you can easily enjoy hikes, walks, especially during winter time, slopes are in walking distance, and it is very quiet if booked a room at sea side
