"The skiing was great when the weather was clear. I will caution other travelers that due to the altitude, the clouds can come lower than the peaks of the mountains. I highly recommend taking a lesson as our ski school experience was top notch. If you do wind up there on a day with low visibility, follow the people in the red jackets. They are usually instructors who know where they're going. Getting around St Moritz was easy using an efficient, clean bus system. Lastly, if you want chocolate Laderach is really good, but you can also find delicious chocolate at the grocery stores for a fraction of the price."

"Family friendly, down to earth place. Beautiful old village with amazing large houses. Skiing great, free ski bus. Small ski bar on top of Albanas. Several shops in Zuoz. Good restaurants (Crush Alva and Dorta). Muottas Muragl is worth a visit in good weather."

"There is a great local bakery : Bäckerei / Konditorei Piccolo (Bakery / Pastry).... we visited a couple of times to get filled rolls and drinks to take with us on trips up the mountains. The lady who works there was incredible helpful and friendly even though we had a slight language barrier with me only speaking English. Our fussy teen through the rolls were very tasty. The local buildings are full of history and a walk around the town provides interesting anecdotes to times gone by, written on several buildings. The wild flower meadows in June are beautiful and we found trips up into the mountains well worth it... they are spectacular in the summer."

We had an absolutely wonderful experience: great location, close to the slopes and the city center, beautiful mountain views, very friendly and professional staff from the reception to the bar to the breakfast staff, to the cleaning personnel. Everything is impeccable at Hotel Damelis: the design of the rooms, the decor and every single detail is intentional and counts in for a very pleasant and special experience. One phrase sums this hotel up. “Everything is as it should be.” An absolutely perfect place to stay. One tip - if you’re arriving by train from Tirano get off at Surovas, if the train stops there before Pontresina, it’s then a very short walk (less than 10 minutes) to the hotel.
