The rooms were very large, clean, comfortable and quiet. The facilities and surrounding grounds were beautiful and very easily accessible. The museum and wine-tasting was a very interesting and enjoyable addition to our stay.

The location was wonderful, there are no beaches, but you can get in the water through docks with stairs. The lake is so clear! Unfortunately, we were in one of the few rooms with no balcony and no view. There was construction going on a property a few houses away so this woke us up if we had the window open. There are lots of jogging/walking trails and places to chill by the water. It's worth the expense for a special occasion as a middle-class person, it is on the very expensive side. For the two nights, we stayed there, we did feel like royalty.

Just 20mins away to the city center by walking. Free parking space. Volg store right actoss the street. Rooms are clean. Well heated. There is a separate kitchen that you can cook apart from the restaurant.

Reinhart the owner was really so friendly, helpful and a wonderful host. We were very lucky to meet him and to have him show us around the cellar area of the hotel. Wonderful experience!!!

Simple, clean, great value for the price

It provides, for a relatively modes sum, the full experience of travelling inside Eastern Europe during Soviet times. Consider it more of a full immersion living gulag museum, than a budget hotel. Everything, from the aneamic shower, to the harsh lighting, the level of surveillance, and the incredible removal of anything that might be considered as a comfort feature, shows a level of attention to detail that is admirable.

Easy to navigate , exactly what we needed while staying in Frauenfeld , as close as you can possibly get to the train station.

Situated right by the lake. Very peaceful.

Comfortable room, very good restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and above all, really sweet and helpful staff.
