The location is incredible, just a few minutes walk from nature. The room was really spacious and everything is new. They offer an incredible breakfast with fresh ingredients and a big variety of choices! You also have to check out the swimming pool which offer a really nice view to the mountains!

We really wish we had arrived earlier to enjoy the region more. Since we had a one night stay, we feel we didn't get to see all the village has to offer. The mountains in the area look really beautiful and we wanted to explore the area more. The road to the village adds to the adventure. Good thing my husband's a nice driver and fears nothing! Hehehe The owner, Rüdi, is a nice and loving host and we felt really comfortable in his hotel. The food was also great! We recommend trying the Fondue with varied local cheeses, although we were tempted to also try other things on the menu. Really happy that we found this hidden gem amidst the mountains!

This property boasts a real swiss atmosphere, from the cozy rooms to the excellent dining experience, you’re guaranteed to have a memorable experience. The staff in the hotel and restaurant are some of the most hospitable individuals I’ve had the pleasure to meet on my travels in Switzerland and they made sure my stay was both comfortable and stress free. If you have not planned to do so, I can wholeheartedly recommend having lunch in their restaurant - they serve some very tasty dishes from reasonable prices, I can assure you they will have you full and ready to hit the slopes, or the party if you’re like me. I plan to stay again sometime in the future and would be happy recommend to any of my friends.

The property is in Andermatt Reus which is the new side of Andermatt. We loved the 2x 1 bed apartments we stayed in ( 3.3 and 3.4 in the Alpenrose building), they are the ones with the pink armchairs. We had everything we needed to cook in the apartment, enjoyed walking over into town to the Coop for fresh food. There is a bus every 15 minutes if you want to go over to Gemstock. Or you can walk the 5 minutes to go up the Gutsch Express for the main mountain which links up to Dieni > Sedrun > Disentis. We skied our way over to Disentis and caught the train back from there which was just a STUNNING train ride. The apartment is also perfectly located for winter walking routes along the river, and for cross country skiing at the Nordic Centre. Amazing skiing up the long valley and in loops around the Nordic centre. What else to tell you? It is a developing side of Andermatt but there are 3 or 4 restaurants including the Radisson Blu, a great ski shop, a cute coffee stall van outside. They are working hard to create a vibe. And once the next 5 start hotel is built there then I think the critical mass of people will be there to give the area full momentum.

First, I don’t usually give tens, but Hotel Gerig and their staff more than deserve it. They made our one-night stay exceptionally pleasant. Already at reception we immediately felt at home. When asked about a possible walk to take he went outside with us to show the way. Two other staff members were extremely nice to my 6-year old. The hotel is very nicely decorated with art and pictures all over. The restaurant has excellent evening food and breakfast and looks as welcoming as the rest. On top of that the bedroom was great! Easy to reach from Göschenen by bus (stop Wassen Dorf)

My experience in Andermatt was the best possible because of the hotel. From check-in to check-out, I was well treated and welcomed. Both the staff, the gentleman who served us and the lady, are incredible. I would like to thank the lady who was wonderful with us. I would stay at this hotel 1,000 times over. If you are thinking about going to Andermatt and have nowhere to stay, stay at this hotel. It's not about luxury. It's about a clean, organized place where you'll be treated like a home. The breakfast is delicious.

Gästehaus Schäfli is a gem of a hotel with such a friendly welcome, a comfy bed, lovely warm shower and incredible traditional food for dinner - particularly the chicken with special sauce. The walks from the hotel up into the woodland are stunning - all the way up to a perfect picturesque blue lake overlooking the mountains. I'll definitely stay here again and can't recommend it highly enough!

Andermatt is a developing ski-town with investment from both Real Estate developers and Vail Ski Resorts. The ski infrastructure has seen significant investment over the last 4-5 years with upgraded lifts. The scenery is not as dramatic as some other alpine regions in height, but it has some charm and is easily navigated. A noticeable uplift in the volume of hotels & restaurants is expected across the next 3-5 years, which will bring some additional atmosphere to the evenings.

One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, that is not...

One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, that is not very much known to international travelers, which means cable car prices here are way cheaper than for example Mont Pilatus. It has everything, the lakes, majestic mountain peaks, secluded Seelisberg See, the historical background. The shape of Vierwaldstättersee makes it looking like a fjord from above. I truly adore this area and I think it's highly underrated.

Quiet village situated centrally for access to stunning mountain scenery and impressive passes. No more than 90 minutes by car from Zurich airport and the same from Chur for Bernina and Glacier Expresses. 20 minutes from Andrematt and that it has to offer. Swiss rail station within walking distance

The hospitality was second to none, 5 of us turned up on motorbikes after only booking a couple of hours earlier. The hosts went out of their way to cook us a home cooked meal even though it really should have been reserved earlier, as there was nowhere else open, there was also an honesty bar. The room was cramped, 6 mattresses in a row, and basic but it was all we needed after a hard days riding. Then it was topped off in the morning with an included continental breakfast, that was great. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Nice place.

Nice place. I used it for an overnight stop, whilst continuing the next day to Italy. It is clean, price is right, nothing special. Price and quality match, people are friendly. I phoned in advance to check how to find it, the owner explained this to me clearly and in a friendly way. Not far from the highway, next morning I was in 10 minutes back on it.

Long narrow drive up to Isenthal, not for the faint hearted. Basic accommodation with friendly staff and excellent location with mountain views. If you don't like pork your out of luck as the restaurant only served various tasty dishes of pork.

A very ski oriented town with a wide range of skiable areas. Some of them requires bus/train ride to get to. The Epic pass doesn't include the train ride and some lifts close around 3:30. So plan well to make sure you can get back in time to take the lift down to the bottom.

Perfect place!

Perfect place! It´s a very calm place and you will experience the real contact with the nature. In this region, you will have a lot of places to visit, or just to take a seat and enjoy the view of the lake.

The staff were very friendly.

The staff were very friendly. The owners (Gaby and Andy) gave us hints for where to hike in winter and loaned us walking sticks. The view from our room was beautiful looking at the mountains and lake across the valley. We assume summer will be beautiful as well. The restaurant was also excellent with a good selection and service. Breakfast included with the room was also great. Altdorf was a nice little village and people were helpful. We plan to return with our children and their partners.
