We had had a wonderful stay at the Alphotel Biel-Kinzig. The hotel is renovated, the rooms are very clean with a wonderful view. The beds are comfortable and the showers are great (not always the case when you’re in the Alps!). There are great hiking routes with panoramic views and small restaurants along the way. Truly a hidden gem with very few tourists.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The view was absolutely stunning and truly one of the highlights of my stay. It made the whole experience even more special. The location is also great, making it easy to get around and explore the area. Everything was well organized, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and welcoming. I truly felt well taken care of during my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again in the future. Highly recommended!

fantastic base for a cycling holiday

fantastic base for a cycling holiday we stayed one night to start Rhine river tour to Holland but could have stayed for far longer to explore other places on our bikes and really recommend Furka Pass and exploring Rhone nearby (another route done a few years earlier) Andermatt was full of cyclists Just a shame Switzerland is so expensive but train travel is great with bikes and some buses will also take bikes. Brilliant place.

Nice hotel great views.

Nice hotel great views. Restaurant menu a bit limited/ Schnitzel a bit fry for my taste . My wife enjoyed her pork kebab. Service was OK but a bit too busy. Mountain view room great and lovely and fresh.. Reception Staff very helpful.

Quiet village situated centrally for access to stunning mountain scenery and impressive passes. No more than 90 minutes by car from Zurich airport and the same from Chur for Bernina and Glacier Expresses. 20 minutes from Andrematt and that it has to offer. Swiss rail station within walking distance

The hospitality was second to none, 5 of us turned up on motorbikes after only booking a couple of hours earlier. The hosts went out of their way to cook us a home cooked meal even though it really should have been reserved earlier, as there was nowhere else open, there was also an honesty bar. The room was cramped, 6 mattresses in a row, and basic but it was all we needed after a hard days riding. Then it was topped off in the morning with an included continental breakfast, that was great. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Andermatt is a developing ski-town with investment from both Real Estate developers and Vail Ski Resorts. The ski infrastructure has seen significant investment over the last 4-5 years with upgraded lifts. The scenery is not as dramatic as some other alpine regions in height, but it has some charm and is easily navigated. A noticeable uplift in the volume of hotels & restaurants is expected across the next 3-5 years, which will bring some additional atmosphere to the evenings.

The staff were very friendly.

The staff were very friendly. The owners (Gaby and Andy) gave us hints for where to hike in winter and loaned us walking sticks. The view from our room was beautiful looking at the mountains and lake across the valley. We assume summer will be beautiful as well. The restaurant was also excellent with a good selection and service. Breakfast included with the room was also great. Altdorf was a nice little village and people were helpful. We plan to return with our children and their partners.

One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, that is not...

One of the most beautiful places in Switzerland, that is not very much known to international travelers, which means cable car prices here are way cheaper than for example Mont Pilatus. It has everything, the lakes, majestic mountain peaks, secluded Seelisberg See, the historical background. The shape of Vierwaldstättersee makes it looking like a fjord from above. I truly adore this area and I think it's highly underrated.

Long narrow drive up to Isenthal, not for the faint hearted. Basic accommodation with friendly staff and excellent location with mountain views. If you don't like pork your out of luck as the restaurant only served various tasty dishes of pork.
