The location of this lodge is really nice, close to the beach and restaurants. Both rooms (we had one of the houses in main pictures, and one in the larger white building) were very nice, large, clean and very nice atmosphere. Receptionist Griselda was super! She adviced on a good restaurant for Christmas dinners and booked for us. She was always there for any question or help needed, with a smile! Breakfast was very nice, and the person serving (not sure of his name) was always friendly. Great to see so the animals and birds in the garden of the lodge. I include pictures of our 2 pool friends. The jaguar rescue center next to this hotel lodge is also a must-visit (really nice).

When I booked this property, I thought it looked nice. Once we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that it was superb, the rooms are outstanding, large, clean and beautifully maintained. The staff are great, helpful and friendly and go the extra mile for all the customers. The grounds and gardens are stunning, and you are surrounded by the wildlife and hear the birds and monkeys calling. I saw Macaws, iguanas, butterflies, crickets, and hummingbirds just sitting around the pool.

A beautiful oasis lodge in Puerto Viejo. It served as the perfect base for our few days here - walking distance to Playa Negra and a short tuk tuk/taxi to the centre. The room was so spacious, clean and comfortable. Luis was so friendly and even helped us spot the two slots in the tree right above the lodge!

Was amazing the the staff are lovely! Saw a sloth on our first day, we also saw monkeys and green macaws which we learned are rare! We saw them all on the hotel beach (obviously naturally as the hotel is on the middle of a forest on the beach) overall it was amazing and the food was so good! Highly recommend!

Look no further, book this place - we had the best stay! Firstly, it is the best location, short drive to Puerto Viejo but also walking distance of plenty of great restaurants and supermarkets nearby, you can even walk to the Jaguar Rescue. It feels like you're right in the jungle, the landscaping around the hotel is done so well, with the boardwalks through the trees, so all rooms feel really private and quiet and there is wildlife including sloths right amongst the trees in the hotel! Breakfast was great, and in the best spot looking right at the beach. The pools were lovely (we found three during our stay) and all the beach loungers etc. Staff were all really friendly and helpful and nice. DO NOT MISS the morning wildlife walk with the Jungle Man!! We saw eleven sloths in one hour as well as toucans, monkeys and much more! That guy is a legend.

So where to start. I think whoever will choose this accommodation will deffinitely not regret! On your arrival you will meet one wonderful carying owner of paradise with smile on her face. That place is piece of haven on earth trust me! We had our dome perfectly clean and beach is right on your doorstep. If you feel like you want to just chill, relax and enjoy paradise in Costa Rica that is the place! And for her breakfast? Amazing coffe with caccao and choice of continental or costarican food. And one more think. Andrea makes you feel like you are home. She was like a mama for us. Thank you for everithing!

This eco lodge is in a stunning location overlooking the Pacquare river. The staff is extremely nice and friendly and took care of us very well. They have a beautiful kitchen and dining area to hangout, overlooking the Pacquare river ! The price for the lodge included delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner, served fresh and hot. We also did a couple of hikes around the resort. Diego was a great guide !. All the staff members/river guides were extremely friendly - Diego, Walter, Johnny. This place is a great value for money !

Cariblue Beach & Jungle Resort was a unique experience with a real wow factor. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were well-kept and clean, the food was excellent, and the pool water was at just the right temperature. The proximity to the beach was simply perfect. The real highlight, however, was the animals and plants that were part of the resort. An experience worth repeating—I highly recommend it.

Casa Bohö is a gem! It’s a calm oasis in the most beautiful building! The staff are so kind and welcoming they made it feel like a home. The location is perfect, surrounded by jungle but it’s far away enough from the town so it’s peaceful and just a short cycle to the beach. There is a full kitchen and fridge you are welcome to use which is so useful! So sad to leave this place! I will be back 🤍

Busy with the right amount of chill, great number of restaurants and coffee bars, shops and food outlets. Felt totally at home from day one and didn't really want to leave. Salsa Brava, my new favourite place to eat, drink, chill and listen to Reggae!

We found the town very touristy, which is not what we were...

We found the town very touristy, which is not what we were looking for. We went with the expectation of hanging out on the beach and swimming in the Caribbean Sea, however the sea was very rough and we were told that even the locals do not swim in the sea. We could not swim in the river either as there were crocodiles. Be sure to bring solid walking shoes as this is a place for hiking, not conducive to the mobility impaired.

We loved Cahuita (pronounced COWeeta)!

We loved Cahuita (pronounced COWeeta)! It was beautiful and not over developed. It had a laid back vibe that we loved, but still had great food and drinks and was very easy to get around. It was so worth the drive from San Jose!

Our hotel, Arrecife Punta Uva, was right on the beach and very conveniently close to a restaurant. There were plenty of seating areas and hammocks provided, which made it easy to relax. One of the highlights was a beautiful viewpoint on a cliff about a 10-minute walk away—definitely worth the short hike. The food at the restaurant was also quite good.

Cosy, and a bit sleepy, town with raggae vibes, a nice beach and a beautiful national park. Alhough it's a very small town it has some nice restaurants and a few shops. You can swim at the beach and go for a hike in the national park.

Only warm hearts and sincere smiles give one the feeling of friendship and every where i went was fun. I stopped at a small restaurant and the waitress being very young and pretty spoke no English which is fine but when looking at the menu i ask if she listed among the items. Only joking in a friendly manor A man who spoke English ask what i was saying and i told him at 82 most don't expect such language. He heard what i ask and went into laughter and smiles telling all what i said. They took it the way i meant it not like i was trying to be rude. The tables around me and those on the sidewalks stopped and laughed and it set the pace for smiles.

If you are a nature lover, looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life often associated with cities and fast paced living….. this is the place for you. If you are looking for a party town, then try somewhere else. This area has plenty of fun bars and experiences, but it really is meant for folks who can fall into the magic that the jungle beaches offer. The rainforest is… life changing. And I highly recommend staying open hearted to what awaits you. Waking up every morning to the 5 am howler monkeys was a bit spooky at first, and then I learned to embrace it. Out there, life starts early, and I started to feel naturally energized? I even found myself eating lighter, not needing as much to get me through each day as the visceral feeling of the rainforest and nature within it was stimulating enough. It’s hard to explain, but magical is the only word that comes to mind. We flew into San Jose, rented a car, and drove out to Puerto Viejo. We stayed in a beautiful and simple house, that had only screens and glass for walls. It was immersive and healing for the nervous system. We then rented a moped, super affordable, and rode around to explore the beaches and wildlife refuges. There are two wonderful refuges to support, The jaguar rescue, and the green macaw rescue. Highly recommend them both. The guides are knowledgeable, and the profit from your ticket goes directly to supporting the rehabilitation, protection, and care of all the animals there. The food can be quite expensive, but if you stick to the more local “sodas” or cafeterias, the food is still fresh and a bit easier on the wallet. Otherwise, expect to pay $40-$80 for dinner. Yes, really. But don’t let that dissuade you. There is something different about this place. And I will be thinking about this trip for a long, long time. Pura vida!

We arrived in the afternoon, a boat ride is the only way to get there. The climate is hot and humid with occasional rain. We took a morning canoe tour, an afternoon rainforest walk and a night walk, all with the goal of seeing tropical rainforest wildlife. We saw many types of birds, otters, sloths, monkeys, snakes, lizards and frogs. A highlight was seeing red eyed tree frogs and brilliant red arrow poison frogs.

The town is nice and small, so one could walk anywhere.

The town is nice and small, so one could walk anywhere. Good food especially in the traditional 'sodas'. The National Park there provided excellent trails, very clean and tons of amazing birds and wildlife such as the white faced capuchin monkeys.

Picture perfect beach with a restaurant that hosted live music in the evenings. It was beautiful with a nice atmosphere. However parking was very crowded with the only free parking be on a narrow and very busy road.
