Beautiful property, great pool, beautiful room. Frog ponds were pretty neat and we saw a few red-eyed tree frogs on the night it rained. One of the most lovely hotels we booked in Costa Rica. Would recommend it to a friend.

We stayed in the Casita reina (the small house on the property). Everything was wonderful. The house is perfect for a couple. You got everything you need for cooking. Bed is comfortable. Missing a few hang hooks for the towel but otherwise all very comfortable. The pool is super nice. Kim, the host, is very accommodating and you ll received a warm welcome From her and her dogs. The house is about 10 minutes walk from the beach and a grocery store. 30 minutes walk from Puerto viejo so close enough to walk but far enough to enjoy a little peace and quiet if needed. Highly recommend:)

We loved the hotel because it was very cosy and the staff was just absolutely brilliant. They were kind, thoughtful and smiling ! so rare ! Well done ! We loved the pool, watching our favorite Netflix show on the tv while relaxing in the jacuzzi. We loved the breakfasts and the massage table ! We recommend this hotel. Bathroom and toilets are also clean and perfect.

Amazing little hotel, where we enjoyed our stay in Costa Rica very much. It is not too busy, the staff is excellent and helps in all matters almost even before asking. Fresh coffee, tea or chocolate is served each morning to your house. Therefore definitely would recommend it!!

The hotel, the staff, the location are all absolutely PERFECT!! Our condo of rooms was right across the street from the hotels restaurant, which was also beachfront and only feet from the ocean. Absolutely paradise!! Would be great if they offered an all inclusive stay, but it sure won't deter me from going back. The rooms were all starch white, super clean, and very comfortable. The staff is AMAZING!! They were all very friendly, accommodating, and will help with whatever they can. They are also very knowledgeable about the area and attractions. They helped plan our outings and suggested things for us to see and do. The size of our room was bigger than what we had thought. 2 comfy queen sized beds. Fridge, coffee maker, large balcony, and big bathroom. Was all very nice! I LOVE this hotel and I can't wait to go back! I will definitely stay here again. And, we had a baby sloth in the tree off of our balcony. Completely amazing!!

Everything! The resort is set in a lush jungle setting, we loved hearing the howler monkeys in the morning. We saw monkeys, sloths, agoutis, hummingbirds etc all on the property. Our hut was very quiet and super comfortable. The resort feels like a small intimate resort, yet it offers so much. From morning yoga to free salsa classes to Aqua Zumba. The food is amazing, we can highly recommend the on-site restaurant. The beach in front of the property is not properly swimmable due to rip currents, but it is stunning and we had fun in the waves. There’s a surf school next door too. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

We had a very good stay at Hotel Suerre. We were quite surprised to be honest as did not expect it to be so being quite cheap in price. We stayed at Hotel Suerre as a small stop while travelling from the Pacific to the Carribean. The breakfast was good the rooms clean and spacious, the facilities were very good. There is also a slide to the pool and a small playground where my children could enjoy themselves. Very equipped gym, good jacuzzi etc etc.

We were there January 2 - 5, 2026.

We were there January 2 - 5, 2026. It rained most of the time we were there but not torrential rains. It is the rain forest, so that is to be expected. The traffic is really crowded. There are several one way bridges in a short space. Going 1/2 a Km could tak 20 minutes at times. The food was decent, and the temperatures were lovely. We enjoyed some beach volleyball and watching some surfers. We got to see so many beautiful plants, flowers and birds including toucans right from our porch.

The village and people were lovely and very friendly. The tour company- Tunis - were exceptional. Especially the night walk where we saw many animals and creatures. My husband left his expensive hat on the coach on the way in and it was found and handed back on way out.

The town is nice and small, so one could walk anywhere.

The town is nice and small, so one could walk anywhere. Good food especially in the traditional 'sodas'. The National Park there provided excellent trails, very clean and tons of amazing birds and wildlife such as the white faced capuchin monkeys.

Only warm hearts and sincere smiles give one the feeling of friendship and every where i went was fun. I stopped at a small restaurant and the waitress being very young and pretty spoke no English which is fine but when looking at the menu i ask if she listed among the items. Only joking in a friendly manor A man who spoke English ask what i was saying and i told him at 82 most don't expect such language. He heard what i ask and went into laughter and smiles telling all what i said. They took it the way i meant it not like i was trying to be rude. The tables around me and those on the sidewalks stopped and laughed and it set the pace for smiles.

Our hotel, Arrecife Punta Uva, was right on the beach and...

Our hotel, Arrecife Punta Uva, was right on the beach and very conveniently close to a restaurant. There were plenty of seating areas and hammocks provided, which made it easy to relax. One of the highlights was a beautiful viewpoint on a cliff about a 10-minute walk away—definitely worth the short hike. The food at the restaurant was also quite good.

Lots of things to do even if the weather is not great (we could hardly swim). However, going up and down the coast to the various points to visit is not as easy as some reviews let on. The only road is narrow and traffic heavy all the time so biking is as great an option as sometimes advertised. We used local buses which are cheap and run quite regularly but may not have stops where you need, as well as tuk-tuks but these are insufficient for long distances. Packaged excursions offer transport so it's helpful if you are not interested in renting your own motorized wheels. Still, overall manageable without a car/moped.

Portuguese National Park is a wonder.

Portuguese National Park is a wonder. You can't get there by Car, there are no roads. Only by boat 1 hr up river or by plane. You are in the jungle with so many animals. I recommend staying in a lodge away from town, in the secondary forest area. Take a canal boat tour and enjoy the wild life. This is a must see in Costa Rica

This town was more quiet and while there were tourists it...

This town was more quiet and while there were tourists it didn't feel over run with them. We were there at the end of the rainy season. Wish surfed. The hike in the park was well worth it, to blend town and nature. There is nothing fancy about the town but has a great vibe.
