Excellent on all aspects; Location ideal on our way to Manazanillo, to break up the drive, spacious and comfortable room. Fantastic amenities; pool, games, restaurant, outdoor area. Near the Caribbean Rainforest Sloth eco tour.

We spent our final days in Costa Rica at Shawandha and couldn’t have chosen a better place to end our trip. From the warm welcome by Deyfer to Victoria’s thoughtful follow-up throughout our stay, we felt well cared for. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and smiling, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. Our cabin was comfortable, and when we noticed the mosquito net was missing, it was quickly taken care of. Breakfasts were excellent, and we loved winding down in the evenings with great drinks. The location is perfect—within walking distance to the beach, right next door to one of the best pizzerias we’ve ever tried, and close to a truly authentic Caribbean restaurant. The hotel itself, along with the pool area, was simply amazing. We would gladly return without hesitation.

Such a beautiful.place, luxury in the forest, the sea nearby. I loved evreything: thd room, the pools, the restaurants. The staff is nice and it is a pleasure to be there. It is a unique hotel, with a unique design. Thank you!

Amazing place to stay! We loved our room (upper floor room) with a hammock and nice view over the garden. The resort area is very green and we could see cute agouties running around. Massage in spa was exceptionally good! Stuff was very helpful and welcoming. We tried also sushi restaurant and it was also really good. Location is nice: the beach is just across the street, plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. 20 min walking to the supermarket and about 30-40 min to the town (or 5 min with Uber). We could also rent a bike if we stayed more nights at the hotel. The hotel offers also some activities like yoga classes, but we were too lazy to attend)). The breakfast was a pleasant surprise: good options (eggs, fruit, yoghurt, pancakes and a lot more). To sum up, we really enjoyed staying at the resort. I was surprised that it’s only 3 stars. I think it’s worth much more.

Beautiful Indonesian hindo style villas with a great swimming pool, where in the late afternoon you may see a lot of birds and other species. You can also hear them! Nice breakfast with a lot of fruits and very polite and helpful personnel! Really recommend this place

I recommend accommodation in an apartment. It is spacious and has its own kitchen. The surroundings are ok. Very good breakfast and very nice service

Very nice laid out rooms - space

Beautiful place with beautiful rooms. Makes you feel like sleeping in the jungle. The showers are exceptional good. Very kind people and just an amazing spot! Fair prices!!!

The owner who was communicating with on this app was incredible. She helped me out so much. I got stuck in traffic due to a landslide and she guided and even found updates about it. The place is such a cute place. You can see crabs. Have hammocks around the property. Had many fans for the dorm which didn’t have ac. I couldn’t have breakfast because i left early. Great location. Walking distance to everything. They take credit card too.

We had a very good time staying in the sloth cabins. Very nice people, exceptional breakfast and no need to mention the beach

I liked the location because it was quieter than being in town and transportation was no problem with the Tuk Tuks. Playa Negra beach is spectacular! The staff was great with helping plan our tours and outings. And we left valuables in the room when we checked out and they went out of their way to get it back to us before we left the country. And the bacon was excellent!

Very attentive and super kind staff that made our stay absolutely wonderful. The rooms were spacious and clean, as was everything else in the hotel. The restaurant and food were excellent. Would 100% recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay! The location was great, tucked away from the main street. The common area is nice and comfortable, and you don't even have to go the national park to see animals as you can spot many in the garden. There is a small beach just across the street.

A beautiful oasis lodge in Puerto Viejo. It served as the perfect base for our few days here - walking distance to Playa Negra and a short tuk tuk/taxi to the centre. The room was so spacious, clean and comfortable. Luis was so friendly and even helped us spot the two slots in the tree right above the lodge!
