We were there for the Starcraft HomeStory Cup 28 event at Take's TV Bar the end of January 2026. The people at Take's are wonderful and it was a well organized tournament. It was nice to walk around the neighbourhood where we stayed and we were only an 8 min walk to the event. A side note is the we were surprised of the price of energy drinks. Only 1 Euro compared to $4 or $5 Canadian back home.

Spectacular roman site, lovely historic town centre, large, beautiful cathedral. Good, easy parking, nice cafés and restaurants. Two large lakes for water sports. Beautiful surroundings on the banks of the Rhine, easy to reach and only some 2hrs drive to the coast/UK ferries. Friendly, helpful people.

Self-check in only. We were assigned a wrong room. I requested a room with two separate beds, for two people. The room we got only had one bed, one towel, and was clearly made for only one person. (I can provide photos for proof.) We tried calling the service/help number that was listed on the check-in display - but there was no answer. Even more so, I believe it was a non-existent number. I also wanted to either request a refund or a compensation, but Booking.com makes this very difficult (if not outright impossible). Otherwise OK place, nice hot shower, short distance (15-20min walk) to the airport.

I apologize, the pictures I accidently added earlier were from an apartment in Warburg, which was also great. I don't know how to change them. This apartment in Emmerich superb, easy to find, all we needed was there plus an incredible terrace. Highly recommend.

Business normally takes me to Kleve about once a year, but only enough time to conduct business and take a later evening walk. Would love to take in some of the surrounding sights and relax for a couple of days. The restaurants along the canal make the ideal location to do just that ^_-.

It's a small pilgrimage city with chapels and a basilque church, if you like the atmosphere it's a nice place to be. Nearby you have also Irrland, childrens playpark, also Kalkar and Kleve are all near. plenty to do all within 15-30 minutes drives.

Kleve is bigger than I expected.

Kleve is bigger than I expected. We were there to view the University and the general area. There is a great selection of shops and supermarkets. The Zoo was very quiet but really enjoyable and very reasonably priced. Kleve is easy to get to from Düsseldorf and there are lots of bus routes when there but they do seem to finish early (before 9pm). We took the bus to Nijmegan also which was also great for shopping.
