Absolutely enjoyed the stay! The overall atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. The spa area was simply amazing! The room was spotless with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was also great, with good coffee. I 100% recommend this place!

Superb stay in the beautiful mountains with luxurious spa, sauna and swimming pool. Most beautiful view from the room and hiking trails and beautiful cows with bells around their necks making the softest music right there too. Amazing many course dinner menu, also vegetarian/vegan. We had a wonderful stay at Alpenkönig. We had booked it for our 45th wedding anniversary based on reviews that the food was so good and it was a very welcoming atmosphere. And sure enough, the food was exceptional. Breakfast had everything you could wish for. Eggs were made to order, bacon was cooked for you too, French toast, oatmeal... all made to order. The buffet part of the breakfast was great. Mini croissants delicious. We took the half board option and were treated to gourmet-like food as well as presentation of the food. Delicious! The room we had was very big and comfortable with a sitting area. Everything was spotless. The walk into town was roughly 5 minutes. The scenery is beautiful. I highly recommend taking the Hündlebahn cable car. Beautiful open views and many possible walks. The owners were very welcoming and caring. Altogether a great vacation.

Everything went perfectly, we arrived and received the bus ticket which lets you get closer to the hiking trails. The sauna and whirlpool were amazing after the hike. The breakfast the next day was amazing. The hotel is super clean and the staff are friendly. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Highly recommended for a trip in the Allgäu area.

The hotel is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by mountains. The place is perfect if you like hiking, visiting nearby cities or just to chill out. The food was delicious and we loved that the dinner had four courses so we could try many different dishes. The people were nice and helpful. Definitely recommmended

A beautifully maintained town with an authentic Bavarian...

A beautifully maintained town with an authentic Bavarian vibe and excellent dining! It is super convenient to reach, sitting right at the end of a DB train line. I went specifically for the paragliding and loved the setup: there are three cable-car-accessible launch sites and a main landing zone just a couple hundred meters from the base (with other spots available for emergency landings). It's also a famous winter sports hub as the home of the historic Schattenberg Ski Jump (1925) and a major venue for the Four Hills Tournament. Because it clearly draws massive winter crowds, visiting in April or May is the absolute perfect sweet spot between the busy ski season and the summer holidays.

A really interesting town.

A really interesting town. The first time I came here I was very limited for time and barely looked around - this time I walked around the town in the evening for well over an hour and saw a great many places that I want to come back to and learn more about.

Excellent little Bavarian town.

Excellent little Bavarian town. Surrounded by trails, mountains etc. If you don’t like quiet, then this is not for you. But Oberstaufen is located a short drive from the towns of Lake Konstanz and all the touristy things that you may require.

I Liked nothing because I did not stay at OY Hotel as I was mislead with the distance of 25km from Füssen. It would have cost more on taxi fare than the rate at the hotel, therefor I did not stay at the OY Hotel.

The elevated views from the apartment were wonderful.

The elevated views from the apartment were wonderful. Wertach is only a short 5 minute drive for shops and restuarants. The "Olive Baum" have a wonderful selection of Vegetarian and vegan meals.

Being a ski town, unlike a lot of Bavaria, there were shops...

Being a ski town, unlike a lot of Bavaria, there were shops open on Sunday. We have been there two different weekends in the winter and there always was something going on in the town. Once was a free concert after an awards ceremony for ski jumping, the other time was ice sculpturing competition.

I followed the tourist information office trail. There are a dozen buildings worth seeing. Because I was only there one night, I didn't have time to go in any but photos, especially of the Residenz interior look as if I would have loved a visit!

Beautiful little village with a great park area, beautiful flowers and garden areas which are beautifully looked after, plenty of places to drink coffee but the ice parlour on the corner has a fantastic coffee machine and makes great cappuccino. Bike rental available. Cable car ride to top of mountain is recommended. Plenty of hiking routes.

Oberstdorf is an incredible hamlet to visit in any season, but especially at non-peak times. It has incredible views and access to the mountains/valleys for recreation. Food is great and plenty of window shopping, but prices can be a bit high. Be sure to check ahead of time as many activities and facilities are closed seasonally!

Kempten is a right place to start exploring the Allgaü alps...

Kempten is a right place to start exploring the Allgaü alps of Germany. You get better stay options here as it gets a bit more costlier as you go down. The town is big and you even have food options late in the night. Also public transportation is available.Looking forward to visiting again in Summer.
