This is a family-run small hotel which was comfortable and has a great personality. The superior room was a good size and has all the things you need including a kettle. Breakfast is in an attractive room and had good options. Staff were great. I enjoyed my stay here. I didn’t take advantage of the wine bar but it looks cosy and welcoming.

The house was Very clean very cozy and we enjoyed different activities outdoors like mini golf ⛳️ also thanks for thinking about dogs and building a special fence around the forest where my dog could run and play without a leash. It was a big pleasure we will certainly come back!

Having never been to this area of Denmark I was most impressed with what Aalborg has to offer. The central core has many interesting historic features, is very walkable, has good pedestrian access and a wide range of services. I found the Lonely Planet "Denmark & the Faroe Islands" to be most helpful in providing an overview of Aalborg. Being on the fjord is an extra plus along with the revitalized harbour front amenities.

It’s a small harbour town - not a place you would make a special effort to go to as a tourist, but it has a pleasant hotel with a nice terrace, a couple of decent restaurants and shops for essential groceries. If you are in Hirtshals for the ferry, you might like to stop by for a bite to eat or a drink on a terrace. The nearby beaches are beautiful and really worth a visit - especially if you have dogs!

We went for the Skagen artists, inspired by an exhibition of Anna Ancher's work at Dulwich Picture Gallery and loved her house, the Skagen Museum and Drachmann's House and the flexibility of the combined ticket. Loved the light, the low well maintained buildings and the coast and the fact that you can walk or cycle safely everywhere. An extra day would have allowed us to visit the grey lighthouse and do some birdwatching and/or explore the nature reserve, but our train back to Aarhus was booked........Would certainly recommend and May seemed a good time to go.

Løkken is one of a number of bathing resort towns in the North of Jutland and has lovely old houses, long sandy beaches and lots of different restaurants, cafes, icecream shops etc to suit every budget. It's quiet in the evening, which suited us, but other may crave more of a nightlife.

A nice, quiet little town with a pedestrian street at the center. Surprising number of good restaurants. The harbour offers ferry connections to number of places (Gothenburg and others). They even have a beach with palm trees! Good location to make trips to rest of the Northern Jylland.

It is quite calm and natural. Hjørring itself is a cute town with all the facilities you need. The place is great if you love being outdoors in nature. It's not so great if you want to do a lot of activities. It's quite rural. We'd recommend going to Eagle World. Great show. We'd recommend against going to the zoo in Aalborg. It's tiny and a lot of the animal exhibits are empty. No elephants or red panda's for example. Didn't see any of the big cats. The park is also NOT handicap friendly.

Blokhus is a great base for excursions—such as to Grenen or the Fårup Sommerland amusement park—and we can also recommend a ride on Icelandic horses at the Blokhus Riding Centre. The surrounding area offers a wide range of trails for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding.

Aalborg is interesting but not a must-see city that gives a perspective on North Jutland's geography. It has a student feel. Plan your visit for Tuesday-Saturday, as many museums are closed Sunday and Monday.

This place was perfect for an overnight stay from coming...

This place was perfect for an overnight stay from coming from the ferry and leaving the next day to travel onwards to our destination a 10 hour drive further to the south-west. We found it especially useful that the bedroom had a window that could open but it was on the side the wind came from so it blew into the room a lot. It would have been nice if the windows on the other side of the room had the possibility to open, too, so we could choose which ones to open, according to the wind direction. There was a lounge with TV and a big corner sofa and a kitchen with a dining table downstairs. There was also a cozy little entrance area with a round table to play games and a very comfy hanging chair I loved to sit in. The downstairs bathroom is spacious and clean. On top of the stairs is another toilet which makes it easier for toilet use in the night for the occupants of the upstairs bedrooms. There is also a bedroom on ground level, next to the lounge and kitchen. We had a meal on the ferry, so we did not need to go out for dinner in the evening but from other visits to Hirtshals I know there are eating places around. Just check for the season because they are not all open the whole year round, especially between Christmas and the New Year you might be stuck because most places are closed at 'romjul'.
