We did not think breakfast was included, however it was and was fabulous. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The private parking at the back was another bonus.

We have loved absolutely everything about our stay at Hjorths Badehotel. The staff are so attentive (especially the hotel manager Jette), always making sure that we were doing alright and had everything we needed for our stay. The hotel is very cozy and in an awesome location allowing for nature walks all around. It has a great restaurant too! Would 100% recommend if going to this part of Denmark and looking for a quiet getaway.

The house was Very clean very cozy and we enjoyed different activities outdoors like mini golf ⛳️ also thanks for thinking about dogs and building a special fence around the forest where my dog could run and play without a leash. Aalborg is a beautiful city, especially the downtown area.
Aalborg is a beautiful city, especially the downtown area. You can have a leisurely stroll downtown and not worry about your safety. Make sure you go to Penny Lane Bakery while you're there and taste their delicious pastries. The old buildings are gorgeous and definitely deserve your scrutiny. There is a wonderful antique toy store called The Tin Soldier that is absolutely a delight. I will be returning to Aalborg in the future.

We went for the Skagen artists, inspired by an exhibition of Anna Ancher's work at Dulwich Picture Gallery and loved her house, the Skagen Museum and Drachmann's House and the flexibility of the combined ticket. Loved the light, the low well maintained buildings and the coast and the fact that you can walk or cycle safely everywhere. An extra day would have allowed us to visit the grey lighthouse and do some birdwatching and/or explore the nature reserve, but our train back to Aarhus was booked........Would certainly recommend and May seemed a good time to go.

It’s a small harbour town - not a place you would make a special effort to go to as a tourist, but it has a pleasant hotel with a nice terrace, a couple of decent restaurants and shops for essential groceries. If you are in Hirtshals for the ferry, you might like to stop by for a bite to eat or a drink on a terrace. The nearby beaches are beautiful and really worth a visit - especially if you have dogs!

The prevailing yellow colour of the houses. The beach front. the wide sandy beach....also its market, and the Action House for bowling, go-karts and laser pointer games. (but don't ignore Blokhus, with its social activity in summer, and its white colored houses in the centre of town.) Also, don't skip Fåruo Sommerland Park. Good for kids "of all ages" (I'm almost 70). The light house at Rubjerg Knude is a MUST! I have been there more than 8 times.

A nice, quiet little town with a pedestrian street at the center. Surprising number of good restaurants. The harbour offers ferry connections to number of places (Gothenburg and others). They even have a beach with palm trees! Good location to make trips to rest of the Northern Jylland.

We stayed there less than 24 hours, and prior to our flight from Hjorring, but we do hope to return. It is a town with several hidden gems, the three mideival churches, a town centre that is being nicely renovated. We were especiall taken by the gardens of the Vendsyssel Historiske Museum, unforunately we did not have time to visit the museum itself, but hope to do so in the future.

Blokhus is a great base for excursions—such as to Grenen or the Fårup Sommerland amusement park—and we can also recommend a ride on Icelandic horses at the Blokhus Riding Centre. The surrounding area offers a wide range of trails for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding.

Having never been to this area of Denmark I was most impressed with what Aalborg has to offer. The central core has many interesting historic features, is very walkable, has good pedestrian access and a wide range of services.
I found the Lonely Planet "Denmark & the Faroe Islands" to be most helpful in providing an overview of Aalborg.
Being on the fjord is an extra plus along with the revitalized harbour front amenities.

I would recommend Luna Ristorante Skagen for dinner the food was excellent. Enjoyed stops at Grenen or Den Tilsandede Kirke. Stayed at the Skagen Harbor Hotel and was very pleased with accommodations and breakfast that was included.
