The property was fantastic, and the host was exceptionally helpful, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. On our way back from town at 2am, we got stuck in the snow while driving uphill. We only stayed for two nights but the staff felt like friends. A la carte breakfast. Excellent restaurant, popular with the locals as well. Bar with terrace. Comfortable and good-sized rooms. Getting to the Vella Farga is an interesting experience: You drive quite a while getting there, riding through endless landscape of hills and very small villages. Your navigation will tell you to take smaller and smaller roads until you reach the Vella Farga. From this point on, an amazing property in the middle of nowhere surprises you in every aspect: The historic properly has been renovated to perfection with 100% attention to detail, still preserving the history of the place. Decorations all over the place make your eyes look around, and whatever you see makes you pull your phone out of the pocket to take yet another photo of that lovely place.
The personell is very friendly and welcoming, trying to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. The food (breakfast and dinner) is simply amazing and one of the highest standards I ever experienced. Creativity and tastiness of all the dishes is outstanding and all fresh.
The infinity pool gives you a floating feeling while at the same time having an uninterrupted view across the landscape. The bed in your hotel room is so cosy that you will not get out of it once you lay down. And yes: The chandeliers are literally everywhere and make you feel special just looking at that while relaxing in your cozy bed.
I would certainly recommend this place to everyone who wants to travel in that area and wants to collect some memories that stick in your head forever.

We travelled with 8 people and stayed at Noguera for 1 night. From the moment of booking, they delivered exceptional service. We booked two different homes without realizing that they would be further apart on the camping. Noguera texted us, made us aware and was flexible to change the booking so we could have two Mobile Homes beside each other. The homes were fully equipped with everything you could need. We had a beautiful barbecue and an amazing, comfy and quiet night. Walking up in the morning, we could hear the birds chirping. I would recommend Noguera to everyone!

A wonderful experience! The hotel is full of clever imaginative decor, instillations, and artefacts. Themed, decorated bedrooms were amazing. As motorcyclists, we were so impressed with the "Route 66" room. (Special thanks to receptionist Juan). Excellent shower. Comfortable bed. Complimentary tea, coffee, water, and snacks.
Air conditioning was greatly appreciated. Very good breakfast. Dinner in the adjoining 'El Tram' restaurant was excellent. Good parking with the option of having supervised or unsupervised.

We couldn't believe this hotel, it was fabulous! So good for the price. Wished we had more time rather than just one night to enjoy all the facilities. Would have loved to use the indoor pool/spa. The buffet breakfast was included and it was a spectacular array of food. Nice modern comfortable room with large well equipped bathroom. This large hotel seemed out of place in such a small town. We drove to nearby towns, which were charming, but no restaurants open, so had dinner at the hotel.

A lovely parador hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacy and comfortable.
The spa options were limited - a very small sauna (for 4 ppl) and a small but nice swimming pool. Enough to have a few relaxing days and doing exercises in the pool. The common lounge area is great, good couches and chairs, perfect to have a cocktail after dinner in a relaxed environment.
The restaurant food is good, for breakfast as well as dinner.

Vielha is located in the center of the Vall d'Aran: one of the most wonderful mountain regions in the area. It is very beautiful, no matter the season. Staying in Vielha allows convenient access to a lot of hikes, and is a good base for skying. Additionally, it has a lot of life and shops.

This town was apparently built by the developer and is not a genuine mountain village. There are literally 2 small grocery stores with high prices. The bars and coffee shops are open only after 13:00 and there are not too many of them. There are few decent restaurants, but probably slightly overpriced. There are almost no apre-ski bars (I have seen only one). Those who wish to take a break from skiing don't have much to do in the town unless they use the facilities of one of the posh hotels. This resort is more for die-hard skiers than for those who want to enjoy other activities.

For those visiting the Seu Vella (old cathedral on the hilltop), there's an elevator off Plaça de Sant Joan, so you don't need to walk up the hill.

There is a really interesting medieval historic core to the town, with an excellent small museum attached to a very grand fortified cathedral, and other historic fortifications above the town in Castellciutat, as well as well-marked (though challenging) walking paths through the hills. Andorra is also a ten-minute drive away so you can visit another country for the morning. As that all implies, the local scenery, at the base of the Pyrenees, is amazing, but bring some warm clothes!

Great town at the foot of the mountain.
Great town at the foot of the mountain. Picturesque - what you would imagine a ski town to look like. Tons of restaurants in Arties - many of the ones you see in travel websites are there or very close. Mercadona supermarket in town too so very convenient. I do recommend having your own car.

Seems to me that Espot and the skiresort is a very family friendly place.
In the hotel and skiresort, everywhere was my 3 year old daughter treated friendly, kind and with a smile. In the hotel the stuff was making her smile, ski renting very friendly, buying the skipass the staff helped us out without even asking and recommended the right skipass. The staff there helped my daughter to get on the lift and the ski instructer made learning ski for her fun.
I was very pleasant surprised.

The town is on a route between Spain and France and is a lively town but quiet, especially at night.
There is good free parking and selection of reasonably places to eat and drink.
The cool mountain air is superb.
In the town are a hospital, police, state medical centre and all the shops you need, including supermarkets.
Within one hour by car you can visit so many places, in Spain and France.
Toulose and Lourdes are about a two hour drive.
Local people are friendly and have their unique language Aranese of which they are proud.
You can sample Occitane culture and mountain food.

Good for snow quality, and a range of skiing.
Good for snow quality, and a range of skiing. Long, older ski lifts could use upgrading. Limited dining on the pistes, but that which is there is of good quality and great service. No apres ski. Very limited restaurant choice so half board is advised.

There is only enough for a day trip. The old cathedral is beautiful especially the cloister. Great views and lots of history. However the rest of the town is a bit lacking in sights and interest and in places feels threatening. The modern parts of the town are nicer. Some friendly bar owners and people.

Don't miss walking around the historic city center, just one block away! We used this location as a jumping off spot to visit Andorra, which worked really well. Our room had a lovely mountain view. I will definitely look for other paradors as we travel around Spain.
