Getting to the Vella Farga is an interesting experience: You drive quite a while getting there, riding through endless landscape of hills and very small villages. Your navigation will tell you to take smaller and smaller roads until you reach the Vella Farga. From this point on, an amazing property in the middle of nowhere surprises you in every aspect: The historic properly has been renovated to perfection with 100% attention to detail, still preserving the history of the place. Decorations all over the place make your eyes look around, and whatever you see makes you pull your phone out of the pocket to take yet another photo of that lovely place.
The personell is very friendly and welcoming, trying to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. The food (breakfast and dinner) is simply amazing and one of the highest standards I ever experienced. Creativity and tastiness of all the dishes is outstanding and all fresh.
The infinity pool gives you a floating feeling while at the same time having an uninterrupted view across the landscape. The bed in your hotel room is so cosy that you will not get out of it once you lay down. And yes: The chandeliers are literally everywhere and make you feel special just looking at that while relaxing in your cozy bed.
I would certainly recommend this place to everyone who wants to travel in that area and wants to collect some memories that stick in your head forever.

United StatesBetlan is a quaint little commune high off the main road. Parking was easy (next to the hotel) and the scenery is amazing. While our room was quite small, the bathroom was adequate and there is a little balcony with amazing views. The bed was super comfortable and the pillows were a very nice memory foam. (We wanted to take them home with us.). The breakfast on the ground floor was really delicious. Super coffee, eggs, mandarin oranges, tomatoes, sausage, ham, cheese, toast, bakery items, toppings and juice. Delish!

The hotel was brilliant for a family stay. The kids LOVED the play area, it had trampolines, go carts, a soft play climbing area with slides and even toy horses that you can ride around. Myself and my partner enjoyed the spa and spent an hour being pampered and relaxing. The breakfast was amazing and had an incredible selection of hot and cold dishes, both Catalan and international. The family room was lovely with a super king sized bed and bunk beds for our children and the room could be divided by a curtain when the children went to sleep, allowing us to watch a movie or read a book with our side lights on. The rooms came with a large walk in shower and two person jacuzzi bath. It was all very clean and well maintained. Housekeeping came daily to clean and change the towels and bedding. The mini fridge is stocked with water and potato chips free of charge too. The staff were lovely and there was always someone available and willing to help. It is right beside a main road and has on-site parking. Directly across the road is a mc donalds, an American style restaurant, 10 pin bowling with an arcade, a sports bar and various supermarkets.

We travelled with 8 people and stayed at Noguera for 1 night. From the moment of booking, they delivered exceptional service. We booked two different homes without realizing that they would be further apart on the camping. Noguera texted us, made us aware and was flexible to change the booking so we could have two Mobile Homes beside each other. The homes were fully equipped with everything you could need. We had a beautiful barbecue and an amazing, comfy and quiet night. Walking up in the morning, we could hear the birds chirping. I would recommend Noguera to everyone!

Booked last minute, had no idea abot this area or hotel, I just liked the photo with the lake. Wow, I was really enchanted by the lake and the mountain backdrop, it was very stunning. In the morning, with the sun rising, birds tweeting, and the still waters, I really wanted to be on a canoe in the middle of the lake and just absorb that energy.
The staff are excellent, all of them from the reception to the restaurant. What I requested was given and I really appreciated them and the service in the hotel is five star all the way :)-

Vielha is located in the center of the Vall d'Aran: one of the most wonderful mountain regions in the area. It is very beautiful, no matter the season. Staying in Vielha allows convenient access to a lot of hikes, and is a good base for skying. Additionally, it has a lot of life and shops.

For those visiting the Seu Vella (old cathedral on the hilltop), there's an elevator off Plaça de Sant Joan, so you don't need to walk up the hill.

This town was apparently built by the developer and is not a genuine mountain village. There are literally 2 small grocery stores with high prices. The bars and coffee shops are open only after 13:00 and there are not too many of them. There are few decent restaurants, but probably slightly overpriced. There are almost no apre-ski bars (I have seen only one). Those who wish to take a break from skiing don't have much to do in the town unless they use the facilities of one of the posh hotels. This resort is more for die-hard skiers than for those who want to enjoy other activities.

La Seu is a small town, and easy to get to know quickly. It prides itself on cheese and other food, and all the places I ate were extremely good except one pizzeria (less said the better). There is a really interesting medieval historic core to the town, with an excellent small museum attached to a very grand fortified cathedral, and other historic fortifications above the town in Castellciutat, as well as well-marked (though challenging) walking paths through the hills. Andorra is also a ten-minute drive away so you can visit another country for the morning. As that all implies, the local scenery, at the base of the Pyrenees, is amazing, but bring some warm clothes!

Bellver de Cerdanya is a beautiful village right at the heart of the Pyrenees!
It is definitely a place you should stay and/or visit.
For environmental reasons we came from the UK via train and it was perfectly located.
1. London > Paris
2. Paris > Latour De Carol
3. Latour De Carol > Puigcerda
4. Taxi: Puigcerda > Bellver de Cerdanya

Sort is a busy place for rafting and river activities, it was charming once but now some modern buildings have made the town rather ugly. It is perfect if you want to go and do nature activities. But there are prettier villages to stay. It was great for passing through onto the National Park of Aiguestortes and other amazing places in the Pyrenees.

Espot is a lovely town on a mountain river.
Espot is a lovely town on a mountain river. Its half-dozen restaurants are all within 50m of each other, and prices were half what you'd pay in Barcelona. The summer hiking is spectacular, but limited to two valleys. If you want to visit other parts of the park, you may want to split your stay between Espot and Boi. Espot has a free pool that felt great after hiking.

The town is on a route between Spain and France and is a lively town but quiet, especially at night.
There is good free parking and selection of reasonably places to eat and drink.
The cool mountain air is superb.
In the town are a hospital, police, state medical centre and all the shops you need, including supermarkets.
Within one hour by car you can visit so many places, in Spain and France.
Toulose and Lourdes are about a two hour drive.
Local people are friendly and have their unique language Aranese of which they are proud.
You can sample Occitane culture and mountain food.

There is only enough for a day trip.
There is only enough for a day trip. The old cathedral is beautiful especially the cloister. Great views and lots of history. However the rest of the town is a bit lacking in sights and interest and in places feels threatening. The modern parts of the town are nicer. Some friendly bar owners and people.

Good for snow quality, and a range of skiing.
Good for snow quality, and a range of skiing. Long, older ski lifts could use upgrading. Limited dining on the pistes, but that which is there is of good quality and great service. No apres ski. Very limited restaurant choice so half board is advised.
