AustraliaVery cute little wooden cabins; I loved the coziness of the rooms with the mezzanine and the Christmas decorations everywhere (including a star in each room’s window). It just felt very magical, especially with the snow piled high outside (but the walkways were cleared perfectly!). The main building (e.g. for breakfast) was a very short distance from the cabins, making it very walkable. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would come back in a heartbeat.

The cottage is nice and very close (5~6 min by car) to ski resort.
They have prepared 5 beds including sheets and duvet before we arrived. In the morning we saw sun rise of mountain from window of one of our bedroom.
Also two bedrooms are very comfortable for accommodation for us 3 adults and two kids, even we didn't use the loft.
Only pity we just stay for weekend and kids need go back to school on Monday.

We loved the lodges and there surroundings, it was so magical and peaceful, The log burner and sauna was a huge hit with my family, Simon the host was very helpful and replied to all my messages straight away.
We were so sad to leave, it really is the most beautiful, relaxing place on earth.

It was a clean, warm really cozy cabin with good facilities and everything needed. The sauna was a plus. Easy walk to the lake and center of town. The man on reception was really nice.Bedding and linen included in the price. Would recommend to anyone!

Quiet, excellent location. Wonderful nature around & close to cross-country skiing routes. We could watch the northern lights from outside the house. Sauna small but functional. Wood for the fire-place ready in storage.

Warm apartment, wonderful sauna.
Parking right next to apartment.
Basic accomodation, but with almost everything we needed for our stay.

Akaslompolo is a cross country ski paradise and winter...
Akaslompolo is a cross country ski paradise and winter wonderland (February trip). Immaculate ski trials dotted with warming huts and cafes. Loved the winter fat biking too. Ski bus runs regularly if you want to ski one way routes. The supermarket was excellent which made a self catered trip a breeze. Well equipped outdoor stores catering to all your ski and sports equipment needs.

The skiing was very family friendly and worked for most skill levels. The lighting at new years made it special to ski in the dar or later at night, but with only 2 hours of sunshine at this time of year, most of the skiing is at low light. We did have fantastic sunsets.
The resort itself is very highly maintained, and the slopes were well looked after and at even -20'C we didn't experience much Ice.
The side we stayed at with the Saaga Hotel is probably the quieter side and so ideal for just a few days. If We ere going for longer we would now book the other Lapland hotel as there are more restaurant choices that side, especially with more adults in the group.
We used Lapland Safaris to do a family snowmobile trip and whilst expensive it was a full day and great fun. Our guide was great and we visited the snow village which is a must just to see the artistic snow carvings

One of the calmest places I’ve been to!
One of the calmest places I’ve been to! It’s featuring beautiful landscape and very few people (we were outside of the high season). There are a lot of attractions such as snowmobiles, skiing slopes and cross-country skiing tracks - a lot of them! Also, there are a lot of options for activities such as dog sledges 😉 one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to, definitely recommend!

So great to watch the northern lights without any hassle.
So great to watch the northern lights without any hassle. Just above you while you are on bed or few steps from your cabin. Just install the northernlight alert app and go enjoy your stay within the premises , it will sent alerts for the area you’re in and that’s what we did. Realy great experience and so magnificent to see the dancing colorful northern lights . Breathtaking . The location is perfect away from the city however the city center is not too far only around 5-6 kilometers.

Perfect service at the airport from the car rental company; our car was already warmed (-25C outside when we arrived).
Ylläsjärvi is a beautiful place with lots of good cross country skiing tracks and possibility for downhill skiing as well. Worth visiting especially if one adores nature and quiet!
