If you can - and want to - afford it, this is simply an amazing, lovely place. A beautiful chateau in a well-maintained park. Absolutely friendly and helpful staff throughout. Just that great feeling of sheer luxury. Further amplified by our excellent dinner at their Michelin star restaurant La Chapelle - again a super friendly and impeccable staff and a creative cuisine.

Perfect hotel! Wonderful location in Vichy. Staff were amazing and so helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself was beautiful. We had a huge room with views out over the pool. It was extremely clean. The bed was also very comfy too! We could not praise this hotel more. Such a wonderful stay.

10 of 10...here is why: The hotel is perfect located. You can go anywhere within walking distance. The owners are outstanding friendly and give you a welcome feeling from the first moment. The room was spotless clean with love for details like the rest of the hotel. Also it was big enough for two people with luggage. We stayed in other hotels in Vichy in really tiny rooms. They are dog lovers, so our dog was welcome too. We will come again.

We loved this slightly quirky hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Our room was on the second floor accessible by a lift and a small flight of stairs. The room was not large but the bed was very comfortable, with good pillows! The shower was over the bath - always tricky not to soak the floor! No a/c but we were aware of this when we booked. There were a few different areas to sit - our favourite was the inner courtyard as it was the coolest, but there is a very pretty little garden and two lounges. The food in the restaurant was to a high standard, nicely presented and delicious. Breakfast was again self service with a nice selection of food on offer.

We absolutely loved it! What a way to arrive by row boat to your house boat for the night. We even got a delicious dinner in a hamper to take across. It was perfect with cows and calves as neighbours and a chorus of Frogs. A brilliant place for children to be free and for adults to unwind.

Montlucon is a lovely town to stay in and places of interest...

Montlucon is a lovely town to stay in and places of interest to visit in the surrounding area especially Vichy - a really place to visit for the day only an hour and a half drive plenty of parking and a walk along the river is so relaxing - The Hall of springs is a must so is the architecture of the Grand Casino.. Montlucon is a good base to travel to other tourist spots

Just across the road from Moulins station, the hotel is simple, spotlessly clean, with lovely staff and great breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Was only sorry that the restaurant was closed on the day I was there.

I didn't really tour the town as such, I was castle hopping in the surrounding radius of 10-12 miles or so, but I did go into Vichy (just across the river) for gas and food and it's a very accessible area and mid/upscale.

you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is...

you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is easily found off the N145. we stayed to visit nearby Montlecon, which easy to find and not to far away, but again best to have a car. ACE hotel itself is ideal for what we wanted in a short stay B&B. Staff very good priced about right regards value for money, and a continental breakfast included. no complaints from us, i would say its the french equivilent of Travel lodge in the uk if you are looking for a comparison.

Very good, neat and very close to the highway. The reception was very helpful and guided us to the right places to visit. The staff were very kind, humble and receiving. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and it was very tasty.

The whole atmosphere was lovely.

The whole atmosphere was lovely. The buildings were very elegant. There was a wide variety of walking and cycling routes in the area. There were not many places to eat after 8pm but the hotel opposite the casino stayed open later and served good quality and good value meals and drinks.

Yzeure is a quiet suburb of Moulins and therefore perfect for an overnight stay in Zenao apartments. The studios are clean and comfortable with simple cooking facilities....ideal for a simple meal. Each apartment has either a little terrace or balcony to sit out on and a number look over a field with horses, a donkey and goats. If you want to eat in the apartment....as we usually do...you need to shop first, but it is delightful to then cook a simple meal and sit out on the balcony to sip your wine and enjoy the peace. There is also a pretty woodland park adjacent to the block to walk around and enjoy. Moulins is within a few minutes drive and is well worth exploring....some beautiful buildings, interesting little streets and some good restaurants....in particular an excellent Italian!! This is a lovely area to stay in with lots to do and explore and the apartments in Yzeure are ideal to come back to for a restful stay. As we travel to and from the Ardeche where we have a house, we always choose to stay here....it is totally comfortable, clean, stress-free, peaceful and well-organised.

Vichy is a cute town - good restaurants and shopping, as well as spa-visits. The Ailler - river has nice paths along it and one can walk for miles. There are amazing patisseries with loads of delicious treats. Parking is easy in the city - either in the streets or in one of the many underground parkings - prices are very fair. I felt very safe walking the narrow streets - even in the late evenings. I will visit again.

The medieval centre and Jardin Wilson were lovely and MUPOP very. Interesting.but otherwise there was little to do. Once we hired a car we were able to travel to interesting hiking places. You really need a car unless you are just in Montlucon for a mini break.
