We arrived 6 hrs after our designated time of arrival because of flooding, storms and detours amidst traffic chaos to a relaxed, happy and accommodating staff that made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble. The service, amenities and attention to detail is without a doubt unsurpassable. Breakfast was delicious.

Perfect hotel! Wonderful location in Vichy. Staff were amazing and so helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself was beautiful. We had a huge room with views out over the pool. It was extremely clean. The bed was also very comfy too! We could not praise this hotel more. Such a wonderful stay.

As every Ibis styles hotel, it was nice, and comfy, and cozy, and stylish. And staff was just extremely nice. We even met a guy on the desk who spoke Ukrainian - that was heartbreaking 💔 And a woman working on breakfast serving let us have a meal even though we came too late, and gave us a couple of croissants when she heard that we had a long journey ahead - that was sooo sweet

We loved this slightly quirky hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Our room was on the second floor accessible by a lift and a small flight of stairs. The room was not large but the bed was very comfortable, with good pillows! The shower was over the bath - always tricky not to soak the floor! No a/c but we were aware of this when we booked. There were a few different areas to sit - our favourite was the inner courtyard as it was the coolest, but there is a very pretty little garden and two lounges. The food in the restaurant was to a high standard, nicely presented and delicious. Breakfast was again self service with a nice selection of food on offer.

The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, nice little balcony overlooking the casino, hotel nice and quiet. We arrived early ( we already had a different hotel booked for the weekend but it was so terrible we booked this one for our 2nd night) lady on reception was really lovely, let us have our room, she was really welcoming. 😊 we could park right outside too. I'd definitely recommend it and would stay there again if we were in the area.

The hotel is located in the city centre of Vichy, close to all attractions, monuments, bars and restaurants. It is situated in a nice building of the end of the XIX century. The room we stayed was comfortable. The best part of the hotel is the small but excellent SPA with sauna and jacuzzi that can be reserved for one hour.

We absolutely loved it! What a way to arrive by row boat to your house boat for the night. We even got a delicious dinner in a hamper to take across. It was perfect with cows and calves as neighbours and a chorus of Frogs. A brilliant place for children to be free and for adults to unwind.

Vichy is a cute town - good restaurants and shopping, as...

Vichy is a cute town - good restaurants and shopping, as well as spa-visits. The Ailler - river has nice paths along it and one can walk for miles. There are amazing patisseries with loads of delicious treats. Parking is easy in the city - either in the streets or in one of the many underground parkings - prices are very fair. I felt very safe walking the narrow streets - even in the late evenings. I will visit again.

The medieval centre and Jardin Wilson were lovely and MUPOP very. Interesting.but otherwise there was little to do. Once we hired a car we were able to travel to interesting hiking places. You really need a car unless you are just in Montlucon for a mini break.

Just across the road from Moulins station, the hotel is simple, spotlessly clean, with lovely staff and great breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Was only sorry that the restaurant was closed on the day I was there.

you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is...

you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is easily found off the N145. we stayed to visit nearby Montlecon, which easy to find and not to far away, but again best to have a car. ACE hotel itself is ideal for what we wanted in a short stay B&B. Staff very good priced about right regards value for money, and a continental breakfast included. no complaints from us, i would say its the french equivilent of Travel lodge in the uk if you are looking for a comparison.

I didn't really tour the town as such, I was castle hopping in the surrounding radius of 10-12 miles or so, but I did go into Vichy (just across the river) for gas and food and it's a very accessible area and mid/upscale.

Very good, neat and very close to the highway.

Very good, neat and very close to the highway. The reception was very helpful and guided us to the right places to visit. The staff were very kind, humble and receiving. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and it was very tasty.

The whole atmosphere was lovely.

The whole atmosphere was lovely. The buildings were very elegant. There was a wide variety of walking and cycling routes in the area. There were not many places to eat after 8pm but the hotel opposite the casino stayed open later and served good quality and good value meals and drinks.

This town feels lovely. It has some gorgeous architecture and nice parks and squares. A very attractive city centre to wander around in, with good cafe and restaurant choices. Would have been good to be able to see inside the art nouveau opera house, but it s apparently only open if there is something on. We were there November 2025

Montlucon is quite a good-sized town which is compact with a town and commercial centre called St Jacques where one would have access to all the franchised fast food chains like Burger King, KFC; supermarkets and many other outlets. The town is easy to navigate and the suburbs (e..g.Vallon en Sully) have interesting eateries and places to visit

So refined, so relaxing so utterly charming.

So refined, so relaxing so utterly charming. In some ways Vichy is a throwback to different generation yet offers so much to the modern traveller- a beautiful lake to walk or cycle around, great wine bars and restaurants from top end Michelin starred to welcoming cafes.
