We enjoyed our stay (with a pet) at this hotel, which had a great location in the heart of the town. The room was comfortable and we had a nice balcony too. The real highlight was the outdoor area of the restaurant, where we enjoyed our evening meal in the sunshine. Breakfast was tasty too.

We absolutely loved it! What a way to arrive by row boat to your house boat for the night. We even got a delicious dinner in a hamper to take across. It was perfect with cows and calves as neighbours and a chorus of Frogs. A brilliant place for children to be free and for adults to unwind.

Very central so great value. The owner was brilliant and went above and beyond to help us out. Very friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough for location and value. Free 24hr parking a 10 minute walk away.

Great property with massive guest rooms that have all of the amenities. Staff were very helpful & friendly & the direct access to the spa is terrific. Within walking distance of everything in town.

Great location. Arrived late (after 21.00) after a day of mainly D roads from Narbonne. Good, secure parking for a motorcycle. Great food & beer at Au Bureau, across the square.

Vichy is a lovely town to visit, interesting history.
Vichy is a lovely town to visit, interesting history. The sporting facilities are excellent. We visited a very interesting art gallery and although we did not use any of the spas, they look very impressive.

Just across the road from Moulins station, the hotel is simple, spotlessly clean, with lovely staff and great breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Was only sorry that the restaurant was closed on the day I was there.

Montlucon is a lovely town to stay in and places of interest to visit in the surrounding area especially Vichy - a really place to visit for the day only an hour and a half drive plenty of parking and a walk along the river is so relaxing - The Hall of springs is a must so is the architecture of the Grand Casino..
Montlucon is a good base to travel to other tourist spots

I didn't really tour the town as such, I was castle hopping in the surrounding radius of 10-12 miles or so, but I did go into Vichy (just across the river) for gas and food and it's a very accessible area and mid/upscale.

you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is...
you need a car to get to this out of town hotel which is easily found off the N145. we stayed to visit nearby Montlecon, which easy to find and not to far away, but again best to have a car.
ACE hotel itself is ideal for what we wanted in a short stay B&B.
Staff very good priced about right regards value for money, and a continental breakfast included.
no complaints from us, i would say its the french equivilent of Travel lodge in the uk if you are looking for a comparison.

Vichy is a beautiful central France town with good Art Noueau and Art Deco architecture. It also has a good collection of trees in the public parks that are well-labelled. The industrial and political history of the town is very interesting and surrounding countryside beautiful.

The medieval centre and Jardin Wilson were lovely and MUPOP very. Interesting.but otherwise there was little to do. Once we hired a car we were able to travel to interesting hiking places. You really need a car unless you are just in Montlucon for a mini break.

Montlucon is quite a good-sized town which is compact with a town and commercial centre called St Jacques where one would have access to all the franchised fast food chains like Burger King, KFC; supermarkets and many other outlets.
The town is easy to navigate and the suburbs (e..g.Vallon en Sully) have interesting eateries and places to visit
