Very well managed hotel with beautiful surroundings, nice fitness and spa facilities, and a super nice bar and fantastic restaurant. I was traveling alone to relax so the spa and nice restaurant on site, with the greenery of the property and the kindness of staff was perfect. Everywhere is spotless and I would totally consider this both for work seminar/workshop and also for just friends trip for a relaxing time.

Charming mountain hotel with a modern yet warm and cozy atmosphere. The décor is simple and elegant, creating a very welcoming feeling. The room was lovely and comfortable, thoughtfully designed. The bathroom is small but perfectly fine for one night, with the French-style toilet separated from the shower and sink area. We didn’t try the breakfast, but dinner was outstanding – truly 10/10, with excellent quality and flavors.

I liked that all the rooms were really separated, like small apartments. It was good cause we were with our dog so thanks to this it was very calm and it wasn’t triggered by noises and we were not afraid to bother our neighbours.

Value for money in this hotel is absolute amazing. For 32 eur per person and night a small, but clean room, small window, but can be opened wide, calm in the night, super friendly hotelier who speaks fluently German (and Schwäbisch ;-)). But the super best thing is the breakfast for 5 eur per person (!). What I expected: Mediocre coffee from a public service machine and a few biscuits. What I got: 2 small fresh butter and one choco croissant, 2 big pieces good baguette, jam, camenbert, joghurt, müsli with good milk, good cooled orange jiuce and 2 cups of good coffee. No idea how they do that, but take your chance!

Excellent value for money and a very convenient location. The room was spotless and spacious, the bed extremely comfortable, and the daily towel service was a great plus. With a tram station just two minutes away and a large shopping mall nearby, I had a truly enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend it.

Super simple, absolutely worse it’s money. Great location right in the centre of Chambery, 8 minutes walk to the train station, close by the museum. Perfect stay for 1 night, or if you come to the hotel only to sleep. Nice little bar under.

The suite has a nice character. The split level design worked well. Separate toilet to the bathroom is nice and plenty of space in the suite. TV in lounge area and mezzanine bedroom. The provided robes was a nice touch.

When I found about the crime rate in this city, it was too...

When I found about the crime rate in this city, it was too late for me to change my plans. The city is really beautiful, amazing, but I was worried about my safety as a solo female traveller. By the way, visiting Grenoble during the spring time is the best decision for this city. Temperature exactly for a walk on/off the bastille and everything around you is blooming and nice smelling!

We actually ended up staying here due to an issue with an Airbnb in another city. But it was easy to book, the people were friendly, and the surrounding area to walk around was beautiful. Looked like there was a lot more to explore had we stayed longer.

Was travelling by motorcycle with 2 friends also both on motorcycles. Reception / checking-in was very efficient and we were offered the use of locked garage at the side of the building to secure our motorcycles out of sight, an offer we gladly took up. Evening dining options at the hotel are (very) limited comprising of a vending machine & microwave however approx 10-15 walk is a nice steakhouse on the main road. Breakfast, self-service, was more than adequate with a simple choice but plenty of it. Would happily stay here again if in the area.

Calm and quiet village next to Grenoble with a good bus connection to the city center and main station. Offers City bikes and scooters. Bike lines are available, Hiking to the nearest mountains is possible directly from the village without necessary to use any public transport

A hidden gem. A small and still original alpine village.

A hidden gem. A small and still original alpine village. The hype of other tourist spots is far away. Still, the village has a few Restaurants to choose and his own cheese manufactory. Ideal for a break away. Well, there is no train but at least public bus connection. (I also have to admit that we travelled by car 😬.)

Connection by public transport to Grenoble is horrible (1 h+ when a car ride takes 20 min), and taxis are VERY expensive (I paid > 70€ for a taxi from Crolles to Grenoble train station on a Sunday). Either come with your own car or don't come at all. The nature and landscape is beautiful though.

I love being in France, but Grenoble was a disappointment.

I love being in France, but Grenoble was a disappointment. It is mostly more modern and not attractive in its architecture, which I normally love in much of Europe. Driving in was a bit of a horror, as I followed directions and then came to a stop with poles in front of me blocking the street. I parked in the underground, but the exit slot was too narrow for my car and I scratched the side. The Art Museum was excellent, but as far as touring a city, Grenoble would not be a choice for me again.

Interesting town with cultural heritage.

Interesting town with cultural heritage. I was just passing through en route from Italy to London but it is a perfect stopover for one night. Unfortunately I was there on a Monday, when some attractions eg the castle are closed but I did visit the cathedral. There are many restaurants which sell local produce.

Voreppe is located at the foot of the Vercor and Chartreuse mountain ranges, within 20 minutes from Grenoble. If you like mountains, green scenery, snow capped mountains, this is a place for you. You are within reasonable distances from small villages, the large Grenoble metropolis, 1 h from the 2nd largest city in France (Lyon) and dozens of ski resort ( for winter or summer activities).

Wonderful small city.

Wonderful small city. Mountains, rivers and all the commodities of a city in a small format. Trams and busses, high speed trains, but you can also get everywhere you want within 15 minutes by bike or just walking around! It is my go-to city in the Alps whenever I get some free time.
