An amazing night in this magnificent castle, perfectly renovated, with an amazing view of the Loire Valley. The castle is in the heart of the Sancerre village, surrounded with the wineyards which makes the place unique. The garden and its terrace, is astonishing and offers a great place for a walk. The staff has been especially welcoming and the 5 course diner at the Table d'Arnaud was an unforgettable experience. The room is very well equiped and very spacious.

Super convenient location, we stayed 6 nights, 4 of which were for a music festival, no problem getting back in very late and night and a very safe area to walk at night. Large supermarket & pharmacy is a 3 min walk away. The small refrigerator was a bonus. We were on the 4th floor with a nice view. Never any long waits for the elevator.

I had a very enjoyable overnight stay with a friend and two little doggies. This is a family run hotel, with the staff personal and engaging. Everbody made us feel welcome, trying in English and my broken Spanish, we got along perfectly well!. Tesla destination charger available for my EV meant we could start the next day with a full "tank". Dinner in the restaurant was good quality French cuisine, with two delightful and friendly ladies taking care of us (with the help of Google translate). No effort was too much for the staff to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel fronts onto a large lake that was perfect for a sundowner stroll with the dogs. While some reviewers complained about the size of the rooms, these were entirely adequate for an overnight stay on a road trip, clean and comfortable beddings with quality linen. We will be back on our return journey.

We stayed twice on our way to and from our holiday in the Dordogne. It's not often that I return to the same place twice but this was such a pleasure. So convenient for the motorway, the perfect overnight hotel stop. Very clean and spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean bathrooms,delicious and plentiful breakfast, all at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome throughout our stay. The restaurant on site is a huge asset to the hotel, very good food and at a great price, again the staff were very polite, friendly and efficient and we ate in the lovely garden the first time, and inside the restaurant on our return due to expected bad weather.

We had an amazing stay at The Arch Hotel! The location is perfect—easy to find, well situated, and within walking distance of the charming town center. It's a great base for exploring Vierzon on foot. One of the standout features is the secure underground parking. The hotel also offers light restauration and breakfast. What truly made the experience special was the warm welcome we received. The person at the front desk was actually the owner, and he couldn't have been nicer—friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring about our comfort. It’s rare to feel so personally looked after! Overall, our stay was fantastic. Highly recommended if you're passing through or planning a visit to Vierzon

We booked 2 nights here and wish we’d booked longer. It was so peaceful, well designed, friendly, and comfortable. There isn’t a lot to do in the local area so it’s definitely for people who prefer peace and quiet or make their own fun. We enjoyed dinner one evening. The chef, who was excellent, was a really interesting guy who taught English in the military. The horse and donkey park attached was a nice addition, we chose to do a donkey hike which was hilarious! We would highly recommend staying here for at least 2 nights as a stop over or as part of a longer holiday and we would book again. Thank you 💜

Aubigny-sur-Nere is a very attractive and historic town and La Chaumiere is in the middle of it. We loved the building which is old and beautiful and has been wonderfully restored with every comfort. We booked an evening meal for convenience which turned out to be exceptionally good - really fine dining - but for a fraction of the price you pay in the UK for this quality of food and wine. The service was also great - both friendly and efficient.

There are two monuments of must-see quality in Bourges: the cathedral, which is utterly outstanding, and the renaissance palace of Jacques Coeur. The old centre itself is exceedingly fine, rich in medieval, renaissance and eighteenth-century buildings. The gardens by the cathedral are beautiful, there was open-air dancing and a superb free light show through the old town. Bourges should be on everyone's bucket list.

Unfortunately we turned up Early evening on Sunday, every thing in france is pretty much shut There is a “Buffalo Grill “ very near the property, but on previous occasions visiting this restaurant chain . we have received a shocking service and substandard food. So we would never go to Buffalo Grill again.

This brilliant hotel is a huge attraction. The town is full of wine shops owned by the top local vintners. The views of the vineyards are special. Strangely rather a lot of the restaurants were shut on a Tuesday and Wednesday in July. Are they making so much that they don't want the business?

This is the city were I grew up.

This is the city were I grew up. Came just for a couple of days to see some friends. Aubigny is now a very neat and charming city. Flowers everywhere, nice little narrow streets with beautiful buildings. This is worth a trip or stop for few days/hours.

An interesting castle with a museum that we didn’t have the time to visit. There’s also connections with Joan of Arc in the town. A lovely town but it looks as though it has suffered in the recent economic downturn. They really need some more tourists to help the businesses pick up. It’s well worth it though. Would be great for cyclists too as the voie vert that goes along the Berry Canal goes past the hotel.

Lovely place to stay.

Lovely place to stay. With close proximity to Sancerre it is convenient for wine tourism as well as natural scenery. The restaurant Le Bord De Loire was spectacular. Food, service and local wine selection were top notch! Hotel De La Loire is a gem with views and charming, clean rooms.

Should have planned to get there earlier in day to explore more, ideally you should get to Bourges around mid morning ahead of check in time have a walk round and perhaps some lunch then check in and then go out for evening meal, if the light show on make ever effort to watch.

The access to the hotel by car was easy and the hotel parking was plentiful. In the past we were able to bring our own wine and pay corkage but this year we were told to drink it in our room. We got up and left and went to another restaurant. The restaurant is within the grounds of the hotel but seems to be managed by a different person to the hotel owner.

Sancerre is an interesting medieval town on a hill and is certainly good for a short stay, or longer if you intend to do a lot of activities in the area. The little village of Bue about 3 km away is something to behold with many vineyards on hill-slopes and on flat ground. There are many eateries in Sancerre, a bit pricey but you come to expect that for it's touristique location. English is quite well-spoken here by the servers.

A little town, not village!, in the middle of the Sologne, a vast wooded area south of the Loire, the only town in the region where everything is available, with a very peculiar Scottish history and heritage (read about it and you'll be astonished, hail to the Stuarts!) timbered houses abound. Very near to the Sancerre vineyards, Reuilly, need one say more? 'La Chaumière' is the place to be to spend the night, and have a very good diner. The chef has already a Bib-gourmand, don't wait too long...Aubigny sur Nère is about 30 minutes away from the autoroute, heading south or north (A 20 and A77), we just like to stay there to cut in half the long route from N to S and vv.
