Big, old hotel with indoor swimming pool (quite impressive) and simple, but perfect room in the beautiful, health-resort town of Vittel. Friendly, efficient reception staff, who even phoned beforehand to tell us the restaurant would be closed due to illness of the chef.

we found Nancy very good especially after a busy time in...
we found Nancy very good especially after a busy time in Paris. We did not get to see the art deco outer suburb which we would have liked to see. However there were some very good buildings in the city center. Just as we were about to leave on the train we discovered the excellent hotel with good restaurant near the station. It was lunch time saturday and the restaurant was full.

Lovely city, with a great river walk, beautiful old town, many museums, vibrant market, and nice cafe culture. Just strolling riverside was pleasant. Also, Ouvrage Hackenberg and Musee de le guerre de 1870 are in the suburbs, and both of them are fantastic places to visit.

A lovely place with a beautiful lake. It was busy though with lots of traffic and more electric car charging points would be appreciated. We did manage to charge the car but the chargers were often busy.

We spent two days in Verdun, and I could have stayed a few more days. Visiting the battlefield is simply humbling. At a minimum, visit the Verdun Memorial, the Douaumont Ossuary, and Fort Douaumont. Then drive around the battlefield and note how churned up the terrain is; it gives you a new perspective on industrial warfare. Before trying to understand what you're seeing, take time to read books on the 1916 Battle of Verdun; it will enhance your visit.

We were not here long so perhaps our review is not helpful but we were disappointed in the look of the city and the traffic was non stop.
The River Moselle runs through the city and if we had been in Epinal longer, perhaps we would have warmed to it.

La Bresse is a pleasant place to stay, and being up at a higher point gives it a nice atmosphere. Some bike outings from here are definitely more challenging than starting from Gérardmer or elsewhere, but overall it was good. For a future trip, I’d probably stay in Gérardmer instead. Also because it offers more dining out possibilities. However, La Bresse is much calmer and relaxed if that is more important.

Lovely French city close to the Luxembourg and German border. The old time is picturesque giving Spanish vibes. There are few farmers markets on the weekends that provide expansive range of local produce. Lots of cafes, bakeries and walks to take. Easy access to the waterfront for a lovely stroll or run. It was more than what we expected.

Room was spacious, bed good. The area offered proper greens to walk with the dog. Plenty of quick bites around in the area at walking distance. However, the hotel itself is a bit outdated - but not in a bad way.

It was quite convenient and easy to get to supermarkets, bakeries etc and there is a restaurant within walking distance. The proximity to Nancy is obviously a bonus and there is a bus stop directly outside the property.

The centre of Nancy is beautiful, the main Stanislas Square is a UNESCO world heritage site and well worth an explore. It was easy for us to get around, we were pretty central and could walk everywhere. The Musee des Beaux Arts, also situated in Stanislas Square is well worth a visit. Also recommended is a wander around the old streets where there are many specialist shops, bars and restaurants.
