The hotel has an excellent restaurant and bar. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed/pillow was very comfortable. We were unable to book a taxi from the train station in Laval to the hotel. We called the hotel and they booked a taxi for us. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend it!

Location, location, location! It is across the street from the train station. Rooms are exceptionally clean, breakfast abundant and staff friendly. No frills, but all you need. It's also next to a lovely little bistro. It's definitely a repeat hotel.

Practically everything, a one night stay on the way to Ouistreham. Very comfortable bed and an excellent evening meal and more than ample breakfast. A brilliant walk along the river only 5mins from the hotel A budget hotel, yes, but have stayed in 4 star hotels with worse service. A special thanks to Cici on reception, very welcoming and speaks good English. Would recommend to anyone leaving the ferry heading south or heading to the ferry going north. Plenty of free parking

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room. One highlight is the restaurant, which serves lovely, locally sourced dishes. Particularly good for cyclists (I arrived with a bicycle); a room has been set aside for the safe storage of bicycles and the management kindly allowed me to hose down my bike made muddy by November riding. Highly recommended.

Booking in was a pleasure...the lady on reception, very helpful. It's a basic budget hotel so there are no frills but everything you need to crash out for a night.....Buffalo Grill or Dirty Donnies are within walking distance. Slept well and the cold buffet breakfast had everything you could need. Great coffee. All staff are helpful and very pleasant.

We had a wonderful, tastefully furnished room in the gite with a luxury bath tub and a super comfortable bed. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and served in a lovely garden room. Chantelle was very welcoming and attentive. We are looking forward to staying again to see the Chateau.

The people are very welcoming and it was easy to get a car...

The people are very welcoming and it was easy to get a car park. We ate at 'Les Halles', in the town centre, which was awesome due to a large variety of food proposed. There is a museum and a castle within the town centre, which are accessible by foot.

I only stopped off for the one night.

I only stopped off for the one night. Therefore didn't get much opportunity to ferret around the town. The place in which I stopped was basically a bed-sitting room with adjacent kitchen and washroom with wc.

Very nice place with great views from the bedroom.

Very nice place with great views from the bedroom. The hosts very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience the french countryside. It is also very close to all the services Laval has to offer.

The accommodation was suitable for a disabled person but the...

The accommodation was suitable for a disabled person but the room where breakfast is served was not. it was too cramped for a wheelchair bound person to move freely and access the buffet easily. The buffet was also short of most things that were offered. I would have liked more bread but there wasn't any more and having had to ask for some in the first place I didn't like to repeat the process

Lovely little town, not too busy and a reasonably priced meal at one of the little restaurants Cars not allowed so a pleasure to wander around .. Also a beautiful shop selling perfumed candles and cologne. All made locally. There were other shops but they were closed on our visit.

An attractive town with good shopping facilities; we had the usual problem of finding an open restaurant, mid-week, out-of-season. We were there to visit the Refuge de l'arche at Chateau Gontier. This is a refuge for animals rescued from smugglers, laboratories and people keeping illegal exotic pets. I strongly recommend it as an excellent organisation and a fascinating half-day visit.

A warm and welcoming city, on the Mayenne river.

A warm and welcoming city, on the Mayenne river. We were only there for one night, so had little time to explore, but we had a wander en route to our restaurant that evening. We saw the river, scrambled up and down several quaint cobbled streets, and were impressed by the number of old, historic buildings and squares.

Mayenne is a very beautiful town, very quiet with great scenery. Monday was very quiet, almost everything was closed, and we went in January, plenty of other things were closed too, unfortunately. I imagine that it's far more beautiful in the spring/summer, we'll be back :)

There is quite a bit to do in Laval and it is quite a...

There is quite a bit to do in Laval and it is quite a vibrant city, we feel that 5 days is about right as we stayed too long and do go and see the cheese museum as it’s fab. People were very helpful, food pretty much as you expect across France. We loved the river running through the centre as well.
