We were on our way to the Netherlands and were looking for a hotel for one night. Booked via internet and we were very surprised, friendly staff, good dinner, nice and clean rooms, very comfortable bed and slept very well. We are going to Spain again at the beginning of July and will see if we can go to this hotel. In the area opposite the station is a nice bar with friendly staff and good service. Had a special request regarding a tapas board and this was done without any objection.

This hotel is a Gem, The reception and booking in was friendly and efficient, our room on the second floor was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were able to make use of the outdoor heated pool which was super clean and very welcome after a long drive. The grounds are beautifully maintained and gave us a very welcome area for us and our little dog to enjoy, this was another reason for choosing this hotel, being pet friendly, they even provided a small welcome bag for the dog with some treats and a small rope chew toy. The restaurant and bar have a very good menu, the food is absolutely delicious. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Fantastic location looking out over 'La Grande Plage' and within easy walking distance of the 'Fisherman's Port' which had some great restaurants. Close to main shopping and fish market where you can try a good selection of oysters. We booked the residence parking which was convenient but only really suitable for small cars. To be honest, the airport was 8 minutes from residence so in future we'd just use a taxi. Lovely walks all along beach in both directions. We will definitely be returning. The Victoria Residence staff were welcoming and helpful, especially Laura, who was very kind.

The cleanliness of the streets, the lively spirit of the residents, architecture from French colonial days were some of the unforgettable aspects. In off season, some restaurants are not open or on hiatus, but there were enough good quality establishments. Walking tours are easy, if you are ready for stairs and inclines here and there.

A beautiful little town with a gorgeous old town, lovely river. amazing covered market and cathedral. Lots of lovely restaurants and shops, beautiful squares to sit and drink coffee/wine in, and plenty going on. Can't recommend highly enough for a couple of days, and so easy to get in and out of the airport. Wish we'd had longer!

Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a very pleasant little town on the South-west coast of France. Its beach is nicely sheltered from the wild Bay of Biscay, making it safe and attractive. We stayed in a central hotel with easy access to some lovely bars and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. It's an easy drive into the countryside; we climbed a mountain called Larrun, part of the Pyrenees, then easily back to St Jean de Luz for a swim and out for dinner! Also some good local shops.

The beaches are beautiful and it has a wonderful vibe with cafes and bars but also has a family atmosphere not too commercialised . It is truly a wonderful place to stay . It is easily accessible from Biarritz train station by bus.

Lovely, long beach.

Lovely, long beach. Quieter than St Jean de Luz, but still with a good choice of small restaurants, often specialising in fish/seafood. Good public transport links, not expensive, to be able to visit other nearby villages and towns of the Basque Country Lovely walk up over the headland, or instead -a little stroll along the promenade. Visited Hondaribbia in Spain by a very short boat trip that leaves from Hendaye port. Beautiful little village-nice pintxos in the restaurants ! And good view from up by the castle. The historic little train de la Rhune up the mountainside not to be missed-but book ahead-it gets full. The chateau d’Abbadia is interesting.

This town has a great beach, an active fishing port, a proper hypermarket (Carrefour) and loads of street restaurants. It's pleasant to walk around and feels safe at night. Unfortunately the restaurants are all at tourist prices and all feature local cuisine with pretty much zero acceptance that the world may have some vegetarians who might want to eat something other than a salad. Asian restaurants are usually a safe fallback in such situations, but Ciboure doesn't have any (not even take-aways!), which is just weird. There is a pizza take-away, but it's well away from the centre.

Conveniently located for the city center and within walking distance from buses to Biarritz And St Jean de Luz. It feels as in the Basque country and the town has a pleasant central square with restaurants and a church. Accommodation was located not far from it, but going up and down a hill, which adds some time to the journey otherwise pleasant. There is a bakery, a grocery, souvenir shops and even a fashion store, and for more ample shopping supermarkets are just on the outskirts of town.

We arrived on a day that the restaurant was closed in our hotel (Monday) which was a shame as we had heard it was exceptional…. We decided to stay another day because it was so relaxing and we had been journeying for a week from Madrid…! Unfortunately yhe restaurabt was closed on Tuesday too 😢 But do stay in room 103 with its balcony kitchen living room and gorgeous views over the valley.

Great city centre and beaches but the Rocher de Verges was...

Great city centre and beaches but the Rocher de Verges was the highlight. Not to be missed. The surprise was the Musee Asiatique - a delightful surprise. Very manageable and has some rare Asian sculptures.
