We had a truly wonderful stay. The hotel is beautifully nestled in nature, just a short walk along the river to Saarburg. The peaceful surroundings made for an incredibly relaxing experience, and the drive to Trier was quick and convenient. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options. We also dined at the hotel restaurant one evening and were very pleased with our meal. Overall, we highly recommend staying at Klostermühle – it’s a perfect retreat for anyone looking to unwind in a serene and welcoming environment.

We have stayed at more expensive hotels that were nowhere near as good as the Sonnenhof. It is perfectly situated close to both Luxembourg and France. The attention to detail is superb, the staff are extremely attentive and friendly and the food is out of this world. We have stayed here 3 times in the last two months and never felt the need to eat anywhere else. The standard has never dropped, the rooms are lovely and roomy, the breakfast buffet is exceptional and the internet quick. Simply the best.

Although we were in Luxembourg to visit our friend, we...

Although we were in Luxembourg to visit our friend, we found the locals very welcoming and helpful, they were also tolerant of our lack of local language. The public transport system is exceptional, and free. Your encouraged to take full advantage of the system to reduce traffic on the road network. Overall Luxembourg is a destination I will travel to again, regardless of visiting friends. One recommendation I will make is that if you love a great Burger then you have to visit.. Upton Park Restaurant Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg

Mondorf-les-Bains is a charming town with over 5,000 inhabitants located near the Luxembourg Moselle River. Home to the only casino and the only spa and fitness center in the Grand Duchy, it benefits from all the advantages of a big city: -Everything close to home, -Easily accessible by public transport, -Many leisure and recreational opportunities, -Fascinating architecture and cultural heritage, -Many shops, A wide selection of hotels and restaurants. In short, an ideal place to relax and recharge every day.

Lovely town with many bars and restaurants.

Lovely town with many bars and restaurants. Whilst we were there, there was a market over the weekend which was very busy, selling local produce & a few clothing stalls. They also had a stage set up and local bands played there each night. One area has been made over into a small beach with sand & deck chairs, great for children to play, whilst you enjoy a drink!

We technically stayed in Orscholz, which is a smaller hamelt of Mettlach. It's right where the Saarschleife is as well as a number of biking and hiking trails. We only did the Saarschleife and the Spielplatz, but could have spent a couple days there!

I only stayed 1 night, so I didn't get to really dive in to...

I only stayed 1 night, so I didn't get to really dive in to what makes Remich tick. It was a quaint little town with a large waterfront area that was fun to walk around. The food in the area was very good, but make reservations. I would try to get to see the underground wineries if we visit again.

Luxembourg has lots to offer, and contrary to most people's...

Luxembourg has lots to offer, and contrary to most people's assumtions is no more expensive than any other European city. The free public transport system is a bonus and avoids the need to buy city cards or travel passes. The city of Luxembourg offers a mix of modern and old, and there are locations within the city boundaries where you feel you are in a remote Ruritanian town yet it offers excellent cuisine and a modern shopping experience on a par with anywhere in Europe.

A truly amazing hotel, staff and spa facilities everything including the weather was perfect. The health box at the poolside bar lovely. The peeling sauna great! The Dolce Vita restaurant great italian food and good value. The villa welcome great hotel.

The booking by booking.com did not reach the hotel owner. We were at the hotel but there was no sign whatsoever this is hotel. Everything was dark, no name, nothing. Locals didn't know this address is a hotel. We called the manager, it took her 15 minutes to learn I actually booked a room. The manager was not the smilie type, nor was she interested in us, she was efficient though

Mettlach is a charming small town in Germany with many good shops. The church is also impressive. There are a lot of very nice hikes easily accessible from there offering tranquility and interesting landscape alongside the river Saar, for example. Burg Montclair, the remains of a castle on the hill, is also accessible and you can get coffee and cake until the end of October.

Basements we're excellent and Art and archaeology museum was wonderful, particularly the roman stuff. Well explained in English. Took a day trip to Trier by train which only cost about 7€ return! Public transport in Luxembourg is free....terrific!
