Beautiful clean boutique-y hotel. We loved our stay here and the food was amazing. Grasmere is so cute. We stayed here on our way on the Coast to Coast Trek. Scones and coffee and tea are available throughout the day. Very beautiful location along a river.

We stayed one night. The location was very nice and isolated from town and the main road! It was very picturesque! We stayed in the Family room with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The bedrooms were a nice size and the balcony was a nice bonus! We had a couple of sandwiches and they were both delicious and very nicely presented. We did not stay long enough to enjoy this fabulous property but we'll be back!

What a find!! The hotel was absolutely stunning! It was nice to see a newly refurbished hotel which was exactly that, recently refurbished! Everything was fresh and immaculately clean. The modern lounge areas were lovely to sit in and read my book as my partner went for a run on the lake side. The owners were incredibly polite and helpful when we spoke with them and the self check in system was efficient and easy. The local area was beautiful. Many bars and restaurants on our door step and lots of walks outside the front door. Incredible to find a hotel with a car park in Keswick town centre! We will most definitely be returning!

The hotel is in a great location - just inland from a landing stage on Derwent Water and a 2-mile drive into Borrowdale from Keswick. Unfortunately, due to extremely high rainfall recently the landing stages all round the lake were cut off by high water levels - but this isn't usual and shouldn't detract visitors. Breakfasts were excellent and dinners very enjoyable. The staff were brilliant, friendly, and always keep the hotel spotless - a real asset to the hotel. One extra, thoughtful, thing are the well-stocked bird feeders just outside the restaurant windows - always a magnet for the surrounding birdlife - and a joy to see first thing in the morning.

Wanted to walk around Thirlmere, but there's not much of a path for a mile or so along the road. There is a public footpath along the stone wall on the fell, but it's very rough. The footpath along the northern Eastern side of Thirlmere is quite overgrown, but mostly gravel so not too slippery. The little used tarmac road around the West side of Thirlmere is super quiet and would make a brilliant route for cycling. The infinity pool high on the Eastern side requires a very steep ascent and descent. It is also awash with teenagers since a tiktocker went viral with a review. But it's definitely worth a visit. Shame some of those teenagers can't even abide by the countryside code of 'leave no trace'!

We loved the scenery, bucket list walk, ticked ✅ off. We stayed in the Buttermere Court hotel, all staff very friendly, clean comfortable rooms, ours was first floor with a few small flights of stairs. Room 5 was over the dining room for residents not over the bar. Very flexible on cooked breakfast, perfect poached egg. Lake and Mountain View from room. Car park had cones for residents ready to use on arrival, free until departure at 11am moved the car a few spaces along and paid on return from walk. On the road side of the walk the terrain can be a little rocky and we walked through the tunnel. On return we had a lovely bowl of soup at Sykes farm cafe and a filled Yorkshire pudding just before the Bridge Hotel.

Perfect location if you want to be away from the hustle & bustle and get peace & quiet but close enough for only a short drive to neighbouring towns such as Keswick, Grasmere and Cockermouth or the coast, Maryport was under 20 min drive for an evening stroll and a takeaway. The holiday park is quiet with beautiful views of the nearby national park and have the loveliest staff on site who cannot do enough for you from the hosts to the cleaners. Would absolutely return for another wonderful stay next time I need a break from reality, they made it the perfect getaway

This is the place to unwind, take in the amazing 360 scenery. Theres loads to do, walks, hike, rent bikes, kayaks, paddle boarding or just sit and watch the world go by. I ate at the restaurant Id booked The Glaramara hotel, they prepare exceptional food, my time was taken with hikes up Herons Pike, Scafell Pike and a good long walk around the Derwent lake. It’s a place that asks for your full attention and rewards it with a deep sense of peace. For me, Borrowdale isn't about what you do, but about what you feel—a sense of solitude and connection to something wild and enduring. I left feeling quite emotional and cant wait to return.

Absolutely stunning views.

Absolutely stunning views. Online photos don’t do the hotel any justice as it is really lovely in person. The room are so cosy and have a cottage like feel to them. Very clean too. Good size swimming pool only downfall we couldn’t use the outdoor hot tub which would have made our stay. This does not affect our rating. Food was beautiful we had dinner and breakfast and it’s all fresh locally sourced home cooked food which I would deffo give the chef 5 stars. Lovely friendly staff who were very chatty and attentive to our needs and were also lovely to my children.

We loved Bassingthwaite lake as it was surrounded by lovely woods for walking, pretty villages and easy access to main roads but away from the bustle of the main towns. Plenty of restaurants to choose from too. Our favourite places were Dodds wood, Mirehouse and gardens with a walk down to the lakeside and Lingholme estate ,where apart from a marvellous restaurant, there were llamas to see and walk with.
