Everything. The location directly in the New Forest, the staff which was so kind and helpful, the rooms which have been entirely renovated, the restaurant for breakfast and supper, the huge garden in front of the hotel, the horses in the parking the morning of our departure (horses are free to go where they want in the New Forest).

The room was larger than I imagined. The food was extraordinary, we had dinner and breakfast there and both were delicious. Highly recommend. I would definitely visit this hotel again as I really enjoyed my time. It was in a fantastic location, the next day we woke up with ponies in front of the hotel, near our cars. That was exactly what I wanted.

The staff went out of their way to make this place an unforgettable stay! That includes an early start for a ferry on our last night, where a member of staff called Susan even provided us with a breakfast to take with us on the road! You won’t find that level of customer service very often!

Brockenhurst is a pleasant, if not very picturesque town in the middle of the New Forest. The "high street", Brookley Road, has several independent shops, but also a Co-Op and Tesco for convenience. There were quite a few take-aways, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance and the opportunity of seeing New Forest Ponies wondering around the streets.

Quaint New forest village in beautiful and peaceful countryside. Loved how the horses would just wander through the village. Two very nice village pubs (The White buck, Queens Head) both with great outdoor seating area. Excellent central location to explore the New forest with most towns in the area only a 15-30 minute drive away including to the beach at Keyhaven.

Exbury Gardens were very interesting and attractive. The Motor museum was well worth the entrance fee £31.50, the House in particular was a revelation. Both are "must go to" places. If you enjoy walking, lots of places where you can stretch your legs.

Stayed here as close to a country show we were going to. Booked quite late, so maybe we should have looked into the hotel a bit more. No food Monday and Tuesday, only breakfast, but pubs around were serving, just inconvenient when children are involved and you have to drive or get a taxi. Evening staff member not good, but daytime and breakfast staff lovely.

The Lodge was beautifully appointed, spacious & decorated very tastefully. Extra large deck overlooking a wildlife lake with Duck & Swan food provided. I liked the fact that there were shops, a large park and a great pub, the carpenters arms, in the village. Another good pub called the new queen inn, which is very large, has good food and is by a river, but that is a couple of mikes outside Bransgore. There’s also a beautiful old church in Brockenhurst which is delightful and definitely worth a visit. Just one thing, Bransgore is not in the new forest, it is just outside, so to be in the midst of wandering animals, you’d have to go a few miles up the road.

The property is well situated on the edge of the New Forest and only a short distance to the city of Southampton. Although the roads in to and out of Southampton have so many roundabouts and traffic lights which always seem to be red. It is a great base to many attractions in the area. Would have loved to have had more time there.
