BelgiumIt was unbelievably gorgeous and so so peaceful. The island is paradise on earth, and the people, especially the host, were insanely nice and welcoming. Gavdos, and Exoristoi, is a place to come back to again and again, because of the beauty and the amazing energy of the place and the people. Our room was exactly what we imagined, and to be able to see the sun rising above the sea through our window, was something to remember.

Very different, quite organised when you get there.
Very different, quite organised when you get there. Quiet and peaceful and simple. People are super friendly and communication was no issue. Getting round the island was simple with a scooter and a good pair of sturdy shoes for the hikes.

It’s like being at the end of the world.
It’s like being at the end of the world. A “Land That Time Forgot.” A place to unplug and disconnect. Experience it before it becomes developed and commercialized like other Greek island or places like Key West, Florida and Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Going to Gavdos means to leave one's comfort zone, although...
Going to Gavdos means to leave one's comfort zone, although the island's infrastructure has improved a lot, nothing comparable with 25 years ago.
Even in summer time and even having daily connections does not mean that the boat will arrive from mainland Crete; winds may change every day and connections may be cancelled on a short notice.
Nevertheless if you want to see something new, still quite unspoilt, if you want to hike, especially to Europe's southernmost point, if you want to enjoy lonely beaches, you might feel well on that island.
