FranceMaybe there is no paradise but Metochi is close to it! In the middle of the superb and unique island, this place is amazing. View on the sea from everywhere and especially from the taverna which is beautiful. And Maria is the angel of the place: always smiling and you feel like an old friend. And of course, the meals prepared by her mother are a must. I will be back soon!!

IsraelThis was a perfect stay in every aspect. George's attention to detail, comfort, help, food, dring and information knows no limit. We all felt embraced by the heavenly feeling that this wonderful place draped us in.
We've also used the place for astrophotography - another field where George went out of his way to assist us.

Very different, quite organised when you get there.
Very different, quite organised when you get there. Quiet and peaceful and simple. People are super friendly and communication was no issue. Getting round the island was simple with a scooter and a good pair of sturdy shoes for the hikes.

It’s like being at the end of the world.
It’s like being at the end of the world. A “Land That Time Forgot.” A place to unplug and disconnect. Experience it before it becomes developed and commercialized like other Greek island or places like Key West, Florida and Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Going to Gavdos means to leave one's comfort zone, although...
Going to Gavdos means to leave one's comfort zone, although the island's infrastructure has improved a lot, nothing comparable with 25 years ago.
Even in summer time and even having daily connections does not mean that the boat will arrive from mainland Crete; winds may change every day and connections may be cancelled on a short notice.
Nevertheless if you want to see something new, still quite unspoilt, if you want to hike, especially to Europe's southernmost point, if you want to enjoy lonely beaches, you might feel well on that island.
