It was all amazing!! The stunning view over Vathi bay was breathtaking. The lovely authentic design and interior of the house. The feel of being in a spacious home where you could just go and live for months. The well equipped kitchen with a lot of basic ingredients for cooking. The high quality of the outdoor furniture. The fact that there are two terraces on each side of the house, so you always have a place to sit in the shades and can choose to loose yourself in the view of the bay or get some cozy privacy in the idyllic green back garden. The amazing swimming pool with outdoor shower which you can access through all the bedrooms and also from outside. The fruit trees and butterflies in the garden and the roaster that wakes you up in the morning to watch the beautiful village come alive from the balcony. And last but not least the sweet host Anna who made us feel welcome.

We had an amazing stay at Villa Marika, slight hiccup on arrival which was dealt with beautifully, the property is large, comfortable, ideally located for staying in Vathy. There is a communal BBQ area that we hadn't realised when we booked but you have enough private space for this not to be a problem. I slept like a log here, the beds were fab, a real home from home and we loved seeing the owner for a little chat. It is an authentically Greek place so perhaps the bathrooms feel a little dated but they do exactly what they need to do. Aircon worked well, kitchen was nicely full of every utensil condiment that you need & always a bonus to have a coffee machine. Parking underneath if needed. Honestly a great place to stay for 2 couples. Loved the peace of the sunrises.

The house that we stayed in at Tesoro of Ithaca was ideal for a family of 4. It had two bedrooms and bathrooms at different levels.
The property was very clean, towels and bedsheets were changed every two days and there was daily housekeeping.
Upon arrival we found ingredients for self-catered breakfast.
We were greeted by Panagiotis who was very polite and available during our stay. He provided very useful information on the beaches, restaurants and attractions of the island.

Rooms were lovely. Spacious. Spotlessly clean. They had thought of everything. Fan if too hot (although also air conditioning), blanket in cupboard for the cooler evenings, hair dryer, bottle of complimentary water in fridge. Etc etc etc. Great location for restaurants and beaches. Wonderful view. Stefanos was very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English.

Amazing view! We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very clear and beautifully decorated. You’ll need a car to drive everywhere, but Stavros is only 5 mins drive away and some very nice beaches are very close too.

Vathy was the gateway to everything Ithaki.
Vathy was the gateway to everything Ithaki. From historic sites like Odysseus castle, the memorial to he, his legacy and history of his journey to the cave where the artifacts were found to prove his journey and existence, now housed in the Stavros Museum.
Beautiful churches, including the ruins of one near Odysseus castle.
The Bay itself is absolutely beautiful, a natural haven for boats of all shapes and sizes.
It has wonderful eating places, from little bars and cafes, patisseries, gourmet restaurants – all quality fare and service.
Sunsets and sunrises are stunning across the bay and over the mountain.
The Archeological Museum of Vathy and Navy - Folklore Museum of Ithaca weren't open as it was shoulder season and were undergoing refurbishment but I hear they are quite something and will visit next time we are there ... and there will definitely be a next time!
Ithaki (Ithaca) generally is a true gem of Greece but also the gem of the Ionian from our perspective❣️

Quite location around waterfront, that is closed to cars. Lovely little coves to swim in. Very poor bus service so car or taxi required to get around. Taxi fare from Vathy very reasonable at 45 euros.

Great location, away from congested major towns, fabulous swimming at Polis beach. Great sight seeing walks to the ruins of the Palace of Odysseus. Numerous tavernas at Stavros and the port of Frikes, either on foot or by car. Very relaxing place to stay.

This was a most excellent destination. Bakery on hand as was a mini market. Lovely beach nearby with free shade.

Vathi is an unspoilt paradise with many beautiful places to see. The water and beaches are stunning. It is easy to take a boat around the island and also to explore other islands nearby. It is a calm and relaxing environment with plenty of adventures to be had.

Kioni is pittoresque and romantic.
Kioni is pittoresque and romantic. Nice restaurants and bars ! Lovely port for yachts.
Avra and Mythos were our favourite restaurants.
The 2 beaches at the end of Kioni are just so beautiful, one with a small taverna.

Lovely local village.
Lovely local village. Very friendly people and some great tavernas to choose from. Margarita's is the best cafe! There is also a small museum. Easy drive from here to local beaches. Also 10/15 min drive to Frikes and Kioni.

Frikes is an incredible little harbour - very friendly, great tavernas, beautiful beaches and a wonderful pier to jump off! We were one if few that didn't come on a yacht but we enjoyed it all the same! I'd return here in a heartbeat!!

A beautiful harbour and working town, it is a really friendly place with a large number of good restaurants. It wasn’t too busy when we visited in late September. The local beaches are clean with clear blue water. We particularly liked Filiatro beach about 10 minutes drive away which has beach beds for rent and a good taverna. There is plenty of shade underneath the olive trees.

Frikes is a lovely place, but as we were getting towards the end of the season, and what with all the restrictions caused by Covid, 2 or 3 nights could have been better, with a 2 or 3 night hop at the other end of the island perhaps?
Luckily, Aristotelis Apartments were so nice, it didn't matter, and we loved every minute of our stay.
There are 3 nice, very small pebbly coves/beaches between Frikes and Kuoni. The water was so crystal clear you can see the bottom for quite a depth. Snorkelling was real fun. Lots of different fish.
The little beaches each had a long stone built bench you could sit on. some of the bench would be partly shaded by trees. These beaches weren't serviced with showers, toilets or bars. But beautiful, with lovel views all the way to Lefkada and beyond.
