CanadaOur stay at Katrani might be my favorite stay ever. An old stone house at a beautiful and very convenient location, recently renovated by the owners themselves. They put a lot of love and good taste and it shows. In the course of 3 days we became friends. The first night, they drove us to a big festival happening up the mountain and treated us like old friends; an incredible experience. Next visit, we will make sure to stay there again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Symi, and a big part of that was thanks to our amazing host. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond—meeting us at the ferry, taking us directly to the property, and even offering a ride back when we departed. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, providing us with excellent recommendations for places to visit around the island that truly made our trip special.
The property itself was in a fantastic location with a stunning view that we never got tired of. It was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and perfectly situated for exploring the island. One of the best surprises was the fridge stocked with breakfast items, even though it wasn’t mentioned in the listing—such a thoughtful touch. There was even a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us, which we really appreciated. And we can’t forget the delicious homemade cookies from the host’s wife—an absolute treat!
Overall, this was a truly memorable stay and we’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Symi. It’s rare to find such a warm and accommodating host paired with a beautiful and well-located property. We’d definitely love to come back!

Excellent location absolutely brilliant place only thing that let it down was our room was at the back of the hotel and there was no curtains or shutters in the room and directly outside our windows was3 huge air conditioning unit running all night so not a great nights sleep. So if you get offered room 210 politely decline. Apparently when I questioned it I was told it is the only room in the building without any curtains. In fairness she did offer to put up some black bin bags over the windows I politely declined.. otherwise beautiful 😍 place.

The location was excellent and near the beach which was what we wanted and only 5 minute walk into the town .
Our host Katholiki and her father were extremely nice, friendly helpful and accommodating . We experienced the true Greek island living in their townhouse for a few days , we would definitely go back and highly recommend this accommodation for value for money and location .

Beautiful island with amazing Italianate architecture. Lots of wonderful, reasonably priced eateries. Everywhere felt safe in terms of very low crime. But beware that there are few beaches within walking distance of the main town. You have to rely on ferry taxis and they don't run after about October 18th. I can imagine it gets so much busier everywhere in mid-season and maybe it is not as relaxing as we found it at the end of the year.

I'd absolutely recommend symi it's a beautiful island ,stunning even. If I could give one piece of advice it would be to go for a few days not just a day boat trip from Rhodes. To fully appreciate this little island you really do need to spend at least one night this would allow you to at least be able to explore the old town above the harbour with its very steep and narrow lanes plus two or three excellent restaurants.Be aware that that the old town above the harbour is accessible via extremely steep stairways extremely steep.

Charming island with beautiful harbor and authentic village...
Charming island with beautiful harbor and authentic village on top of it. Beautiful beaches, scattered all around the island. Some of them reachable by bus, taxi or on foot, others are reachable by taxi boat.
Love Agios Nikolaos and fish tavern on it with fresh wild fish, love swimming from Agia Marina to small island with the little church there.
Of course, Agios Georgios is incredible place.
The island is not for mass tourism, of course the boats come during a day, but most of them are not staying overnight.
Some wildlife - spotted seal on the beach in Nimborio, and the other person saw turtles on Marathounda beach.
Excellent taverna Tholos, close to port, our long time favorite, also liked a lot Zoe and Kali strata in the village.
And for a Christian, it is a must to visit both Archangel Michael monasteries - Panormitis (newer) and Roukouniotis (older) with frescoes that date back to 15th century. Also, for an Orthodox a surprise visit to Sergii Sarovski church.
