The location as people have mentioned can't be beat .Just realize the pool is located at another facility and is not on site. Though it is a short few steps through a small parking lot to get to it. Very nice pool btw and just around the back from the pool area is a walkway through to the beach front . There are chairs directly there for you to place your towel on ( which I encourage you to do before 9am) to secure a nice set of beach chairs either up front by the beach or set back a few rows ,they do get snatched up quickly unfortunately. The Inn is nice, there are no open balconies only 1 room has one.Your screen doors only open and you have a ledge to lean on.You are within an open pavilion keep in mind which gets loud but the loudest is the hangover hut bar right beside this property, you will hear it clearly and they like to party. There is a shopping pavilion up from this small Inn as well with a cafe ( best pizza and bagel) I've ever had !!! Liquor store as well up from the Inn and other shopping varieties in small store fronts. There are a few restaurants up by this pavilion and within the pavilion of the Inn there are restaurants as well. The beach of West Bay is beautiful and snorkeling is some of the best ever. Keep in mind though when the cruise ships come in it makes it very very crowded. Also no surprise you will get constantly asked for massage or braid services. There's no end and when walking the beach you are constantly asked for what your plans are for the day as boat suppliers want to take you anywhere! Walk up past the end of the beach to Los Rocas I believe it's called ( but be careful the walkway / dock boards are old ) grab a margarita and get some quiet time away from constant (tourist attention) I'll call it. PS - the included breakfast is great ,made to order and they have water coolers upstairs and down which is so convenient cause you need water! We lived in Casitas, which were very simple and beautiful. The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioning was working without any problem. The location is perfect and very quiet. The staff were very helpful, friendly and kind. We had breakfasts every day and they were very delicious. We really enjoyed our time there, it is a beautiful place.

    West Bay is a laid-back beach community on the tip of Roatan. Lots of range in accommodations and food, and great dive shop options (Bananarama is our preferred provider -- smaller boats, personalized attention). We love to dive, and this part of Roatan is great to have as a base.

    Five stars definitely for the scuba diving.

    Five stars definitely for the scuba diving. It is incredible. It is also an affordable place to dive, and there are so many sites available. And a variety of places and instructors. The area in general is nice, and fairly clean. Dining options are relatively plentiful, and varied in price/environment/style. Hotels as well...plentiful and different prices/styles/environments. When walking around, sometimes it feels not particularly super safe, but that is more of a feeling rather than seeing anything actually happen when I have been there. Spanish is spoken...but in tourist related places, English is sometimes even more common. You can be there for just a couple nights, or for a full week or more...if you like diving and want to do it multiple times, the longer the better obviously, but just a couple nights is plenty also to walk/see the entire area and get at least one dive in before leaving.

    Beautiful - CLEAN - island!

    Beautiful - CLEAN - island! Took the ferry from the mainland (returned by air) rented a car (had to go to the airport to get it). Had a full home with kitchen and, although we did shop at a very modern supermarket, we also ate in several restaurants. All good! Small island, easy to get around on very good highways (some road construction). We are an older couple so mostly sight seeing, monkeys and sloths were lots of fun, most people come for the water sports I would think.

    Loved the staff. Helpful in so many ways. They are planning for new activities. Taxi available. Great food. I ate at the restaurant daily. I could get lunches and breakfast to go when I had early morning pick up for diving. I dived with Octopus Diving, recommended by the resort. I enjoyed the birds that were attracted to the thriving plantings along the walkways. The wifi worked well. The owner helped me with scheduling. She took me to the cash machine. She was so helpful.

    The West Bay area of Roatan is my favorite area to be while on the island. There are many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The beach is easily accessible and everyone is friendly and helpful.

    Depending on cruise ship traffic. Tiny little beach towns that can get overwhelmed with cruise ship passengers. Great little tourist town to visit for a short stay on an off (cruise ship) day. Watching tourist dodge vehicles due to lack of adequate foot paths is highly entertaining. Travel insurance definitely required to get from one end of town to the other on foot. Lots of good eats and drinks there. Lots of tourist scams there as well. Nice beach to swim at.

    Roatan generally has pleasant temperatures year round, Spanish and English are both widely spoken.People are generally friendly. Public transportation is pretty good, except to the east of the island. Accommodations range from affordable to expensive resorts.

    We loved snorkelling out to the reef, particularly the Spooky Channel, and a delicious lunch at Puerta Azul. Best of all, the beach was almost deserted, despite cruise ships disgorging passengers elsewhere on the island. We regretted not having time to see the botanical gardens.

    I feel like we selected the best location.

    I feel like we selected the best location. The majority of what we wanted to do, if not within walking distance, was a reasonable taxi or water taxi ride away. I do recommend one full day custom tour to visit things further away.

    I like to walk around to west End and visit souvenirs and coffee shop. My favorite spot Costa Dulce Gelato It is a space with a beautiful view of the beach and you can stay sitting for hours in this place. The best place to eat Happy Harry
