"A great historical city with an old town, many restaurants and cafes, and an active cultural life. Excellent opportunities to travel around the area, accessible by public transport: castles, resort towns with excellent beaches and their infrastructure. I recommend taking a boat tour to the nearest islands. Although cards work well, many places only accept cash. I recommend visiting the market, especially in the morning, and if you have the opportunity to cook, buy fresh fish."

"The towns of Selce and Crikvenica are very beautiful. There are many bars and restaurants. Even though we arrived near the end of the season, the town was still quite lively. The restaurants are very good. Almost all of them are pet friendly at least those that have terraces. We ate exclusively in restaurants and were always satisfied everywhere. We lived on grilled calamari, ćevapčići, pljeskavica, and meat burek throughout the whole vacation.
Selce is a smaller town where everything is basically located on the promenade by the beach. There is not much in the other streets except for a few shops (but the promenade is loooong :D).
Selce has an ice cream shop that won 1st place in the world, and I must say the ice cream is really excellent and they serve large portions (but that's common all over Croatia).
For anyone who hasn't been to Selce or Crikvenica yet, I definitely recommend it."

The sea is beautiful in warm and also colder weather, the Lungomare is a perfect place to take longer or shother walks.

"Recommended for families, lots of small beaches one after the other, parking and driving is chaotic in the center in high season, however from surrounding only shoreline pavement (partly marbled) its way too long to walk in to the center among runners cyclists and electric scooters and dogs. There are some bakeries only open in the morning, and some even until midnight if you want to eat a snack. Local grocery stores are somewhat hard to drive to, i preferred a remote one outside the city with no limit in parking time."

We stayed in a Premium Double Room With Sea View and the Balcony and we were amazed by how clean it was and the magnificent view it provided. The room is spacious and it was visited by the cleaner everyday, which came as a surprise, because we didn't expect it and it felt good to come back to the clean room everyday after our breakfast.
The bed is surprisingly big. Balcony has two comfortable chairs with a table AND two additional lounge chairs and a separate table. We were pleasantly surprised by the room size and balcony size. Both are spacious and bright.
Hotel was peaceful, the hotel staff is amazing. Everyone from waiters in the lobby restaurant, receptionists, sauna and pool staff, waiters in the restaurant were on the top of their game and I firmly believe they deserve a raise and would definitely benefit from upgrading their current monthly salary (little bird told us their current salaries leave a lot to be desired).
There are two swimming pools available, outside and inside. Both pools have salt water (I guess it comes from the sea and goes through some sort of filtering facility). We used both extensively. The inside pool has a warm water, while the water in the outside pool is colder, but still great.
We took a half board and we were satisfied by the selection of food for both breakfast and dinner.
Food varied and everyday there was something new to try.
Was it the best food there is? No, but it was up to the high standards and we enjoyed it.
If we ever wind up in Opatija again, we will definitely come back to this hotel.

The property is in walking distance from the really kids friedly beach (quite some available shade from trees, shallow entrance, there is even a small play house next to the beach bar). We really enjoyed paddling through the chanal with our SUP to some of the more secluded small beaches.
Bogdan is a fabulous host, cheerful, allways available and very helpful.
His property is very well equipped (even two refrigerators), clean and with a nice sheltered terrace in the back (you can comfortably sit there all day even at high temperatures, sun or rain). Due to its setup (3 floors), it stays quite cool in the lower floors and with the AC you can also easily keep the top floor cooled.
The 6 of us (2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 small kids) had more than enough space.
There is no shop in this small town, but there are plenty of shops and a farmers market in 15 minutes driving distance.
(The power plant didn't bother us at all.)
We definitely plan to come back again.

Thé hotel is perfect! It is 3 stars, but I would definitely give 4. The rooms are very confortable and stylish, very clean. Breakfast/brunch and dinner were included and it was huge time save for us. The location is great, very good view from the restaurant. The personnel is also very nice, attentive and solutions oriented.

Nice hotel, by the beach. Dinner was really good, and staff are nice. Good value. I’d stay there again 100%.

We really liked our stay here.
We really liked our stay here. We tried almost all restaurants and everything was really delicious, especially the seafood. Everything is nearby and close to the apartment, everything is accessible and it seems very child and pet-friendly in my opinion. We will surely come back here. The beaches are clean, the bars are nice, the restaurants are excellent, we loved it!

The town relies entirely on tourism, but this has resulted in chaotic traffic conditions. The beaches are child-friendly and excellent for families. Amenities include trampolines, playgrounds, boat trips, jet-ski rentals, table tennis, teqball, beach volleyball, and more. There are many young people who throw big parties in the evenings; this can be a nuisance depending on where your accommodation is located. A wide variety of food and drinks is available throughout the day and evening—naturally at "tourist" prices. This destination is best suited for those who don't mind crowds, as the place is packed all day long.

Its a perfect vacation destination with nice people, beautiful promenade with a view to the Adriatic sea and landmark buildings, safe town with nice shops and restaurants. We would love to go back to Opatija.

Layers of history that envelop the city in a peaceful pace and tranquility without the crowds of tourists - the people of Rijeka simply let you peek into their homes and be welcomed. Everyone is so kind. We recommend taking the bus to Pecine beach. And the food is delicious whether it's from a kiosk or a fancy restaurant

The beaches are beautiful all around Vir, so there are plenty options to choose from. The thing I was missing was some kind of that typical promenade filled with cafes and small shops where you can stroll during the evenings. What I appreciate is that the grocery stores/supermarkets are virtually everywhere,

It was a great place to visit with plenty of activities to keep you active such as walks and diving (Squatina Diving Centre just round the corner), or there was the beach where you could just spend the week relaxing depending on your preferences. Squatina Dive Centre was amazing and the team there were knowledgeable, friendly, multi-lingual and very welcoming.

Krk is a lovely town with a great variety of beaches. If you don’t mind walking a little, you can find something for every taste — from convenient city beaches with cafés nearby to more peaceful and wild spots. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the sea.

Malinska has a very long coast line with a multitude of beaches, from stony and secluded to small pebbles good for children. A picturesque center with a lot of eateries and bakeries, large grocery stores where you can buy excellent meats and fruits. I have been staying in Malinska for many years every September and still find new breathtaking views every time I come here.

Rab is a beautiful medieval town with a charming pedestrian old town centre, full of cute little shops and a lovely park along the waterfront. There are plenty of restaurants by the harbour, and the town has a lively but relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay, especially during the medieval festival at the end of July, which made the town feel even more special. I also recommend taking a boat trip around the island; the views are spectacular, and swimming in the clear turquoise water was one of the highlights of our stay.

The city/village is lovely.
The city/village is lovely.
The beach area is quite clean and family-friendly.
It has a small playground for children, which is a lifesaver in the hot afternoons.
The restaurants are also ok: a must-try are the Bistro Pizzeria Vista and the Konoba "Nora".
