This hotel truly exceeded all expectations. Located right on the seafront, brand new (only one year old), modern, and finished to the highest standard.
From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless — we left our car at the entrance and a staff member parked it in the underground garage. Early check-in was provided, and our room was spacious with a huge bathroom featuring a tropical shower and bathtub. High-quality toiletries were available in generous amounts. We even had a clothes steamer and a coffee machine in the room — every detail was thought through.
After I accidentally stained the bedding, housekeeping kindly replaced it the next day — no questions asked. We truly appreciated that.
And the breakfast — absolutely next level! Everything fresh, premium quality, with an amazing variety (even truffle salami!). Plus, à la carte options — we had eggs Benedict with salmon, and even champagne and smoothies were available. So much to choose from, and everything was delicious. No crowds, just a relaxing atmosphere inside or on the terrace.
The staff deserve a special mention — incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile.

UkraineThank you for the warm welcome! This is the best hotel on the coast. We stayed for three days to celebrate my birthday. Our room was upgraded to a higher category, which was a lovely surprise. The hotel also gifted me a bottle of wine for my birthday — a very pleasant gesture.
The service was excellent. There were three of us — my husband, our 6-year-old daughter, and me. I want to highlight the brilliant design of the transformable bed. We didn’t need to order an extra bed: the child’s bed pulled out as a lower tier, so our daughter had her own space to sleep. Simply genius!
The spa area is a wonderful place to relax. It was chilly outside, but the indoor pool is heated to 30°C, as well as the water in it. The jacuzzi on the terrace was also heated. There are two saunas, and tea is included in the spa — every little detail is thought through.
The breakfast deserves a separate mention — it was pure bliss. Everything was delicious and varied. In addition to the buffet, you can also order dishes from the à la carte menu, which are included in the price — no extra charges. We are honestly ready to return just for the breakfast!
The staff is incredibly friendly and always happy to help.
Chef Marko is truly a master of his craft — both the taste and presentation of the dishes were outstanding.
This hotel is a solid 10 out of 10. Grateful and impressed. Highly recommended!

She was always helpful in many related issues such like electric car Charging or difficult payment…the staff is always helpful and kind and everyone speaks English. The food was excellent.

Our recent stay at the Liburnia Hotel Ambasador in Opatija was, as always, an absolute pleasure—this being our third time visiting during my birthday week in October. I was particularly impressed with how much the buffet dinner and breakfast offerings have improved, especially with their accommodating choices for Low-Carb enthusiasts, a thoughtful touch for people who keep their carbs low.
I must commend the bellboys, who were exceedingly kind and professional throughout our stay. A special mention must go to the lovely lady responsible for the 8th-floor housekeeping. She maintained our suite impeccably each day, doing so with the utmost discretion and care, never causing too much noise. Her gentle manner also ensured that our two cats, who travelled with us, felt entirely at ease. She went above and beyond, especially when I needed assistance with pet food bowls and other necessities—her kindness was greatly appreciated.
The spa staff were equally professional, and I was grateful for their help when I misplaced my phone. The spa itself is cosy and features a generously sized jacuzzi where one can swim comfortably. However, for those who are modest, it's worth noting that the spa follows a nudity policy, which some may find a little disconcerting, particularly given the attention from certain guests. That said, if this does not trouble you, the spa, along with the stunning pool area and beachfront, are truly enjoyable.
The reception staff also deserve high praise, with two particular ladies going above and beyond to assist us during our stay. Marina was absolutely lovely, and her colleague was exceptionally helpful in recommending a hairdresser and ensuring that a light dinner was prepared for our late return from a day trip to Italy. The gentlemen at reception were equally kind, offering excellent suggestions for nearby sights within walking distance. The lady at the bar was a bar tender star, as well as breakfast staff.

Overall - we had an awesome vacation in this hause! We were there as a family of two adults and three kids, and the place could easily accomodate even more people. The location is right by the cozy fishermen‘s haven, a treat to look upon from the house‘s balcony or the terrase. Going to the beach is a ~5 min walk along the water (entry free of charge, and having the necessary facilities as well as a nice bar). The water in this „fjord“ is warmer and saltier than in the open sea - which actually makes swimming more pleasant. The hause has air condition (except one bedroom) and absolutely everything that a family needs during 1-2 vacation weeks. The hosts, Bogdan and Milena, are VERY hospitable, helpful and friendly people. We are looking forward to come back the next time!

This was our second time in Hotel Katarina and it was again incredible. The food is great, the location is perfect, a minute away from Selce center and half an hour walk away from Crikvenica. The SPA zone is clean and relaxing. Our room was sea oriented so the view was amazing. We got a few complimentary things from the managment as well which was a nice touch. We wil definitelly be returning next year!

Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Will definitely go back! Just close enough to the beach to feel you are there, but with a very nice feeling of semi-exclusive privacy too. Opatija is a well known touristic location with a long tradition and one can see and feel it everywhere. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants at the terraces or in the garden, many with the sea view. The famous seaside walking path is very long and beautiful. Convenient for walking or jogging. We walked to Volosko in direction of Rijeka and to beautiful Lovran in direction of Trieste. Along the way there are nice places to rest and take photos with sea backdrop.
We particularly liked the terrace of the Kvarner hotel. Right in the centre, yet tranquil and relaxing. The prices at the cafe were very fair.
A tip for people with vehicles - we stayed in April and were advised to park the car in Lovran where parking was free. The price in Opatija is EUR 25 per day.
Opatija is a great choice for spring, early summer and fall. It might be too crowded in summertime.
Apart from Kvarner hotel terrace, I would recommend Tabu Lounge Bar on the Franz Joseph I promenade in direction to Lovran, Ružmarin restaurant and Keight Hotel Rooftop Lounge Bar.

I was there because of a family emergency , initially with my husband and then with my sister.
As two women, we were exposed to aggressive road rage, harassment and narrrowly avoided being mugged.
I would not advise a woman to travel there alone

We were in the off-season, the climate is very pleasant, there are no crowds, the quantity and quality of the restaurants are very good. The waiters are kind. Everything is within walking distance, it can be an ideal choice for families with dogs.

The city/village is lovely.
The city/village is lovely.
The beach area is quite clean and family-friendly.
It has a small playground for children, which is a lifesaver in the hot afternoons.
The restaurants are also ok: a must-try are the Bistro Pizzeria Vista and the Konoba "Nora".

Rabac has is a pretty but v small beach front village.
Rabac has is a pretty but v small beach front village. If you don't expect much its fine but there is not a lot to do round there and buses are few and far between and taxis expensive in relation to distance.

For travelling by car with a family, this is an ideal destination. The roads are good, and there are many beautiful beaches, each with its own unique natural character. The only downside may be the single access route to the island, which can easily become congested, but that is simply part of travelling to islands.

It was a great place to visit with plenty of activities to keep you active such as walks and diving (Squatina Diving Centre just round the corner), or there was the beach where you could just spend the week relaxing depending on your preferences. Squatina Dive Centre was amazing and the team there were knowledgeable, friendly, multi-lingual and very welcoming.

Novalja is amazing.
Novalja is amazing. Sure, it’s full of people in the high season since the famous Zrce Beach is nearby, but I’ll definitely come back next year. Not just for the beautiful sea and beaches, but also because we never had a chance to be bored.

We found Senj to be a great place to stay.
We found Senj to be a great place to stay. It was perfect for driving to other activities and sites like the Fortress, beaches and Plitvice Park. Although there is not much to Senj old town, it was very nice to explore and enjoy the plaza and restaurants. A 4 night stay would be sufficient to see and do everything in the proximity.

The city looks nice and there are many options to eat and have drinks. The beaches are beautiful and they are easily reachable on foot and with bikes that you can rent in the city. The Museum of Apoxyomenos was awesome! Worth every penny! All in all it was nice there, but the prices of drinks at cafes and bars are outrageous. We payed 7 euros for a beer at one place which was really shocking.
