Santi and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. The Bungalow was in a great location, clean, and had a great balcony to relax on. The restaurant Olalas right next door had awesome food plus had a great view of the water. There are plenty of scuba diving places in close walking distance. Robbie also has scooters to rent. I would like to extend a heartfelt shout-out to the amazing staff who were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout our stay. They made sure that our time was always pleasant, and I truly appreciate their dedication. I’m especially grateful for their willingness to prepare meals for my family even during the fasting month of Ramadan. Their kindness and hospitality made our stay extra special. We had a wonderful stay at Pele's place! The beachfront bungalow had an amazing view. We could hear only the sound of the waves. Priceless! We spent most of our time enjoying the hammock on the balcony. Also, the bed was very comfortable. The owner and the staff from the restaurant were extremely friendly & professional, always doing their best to make us feel good. The food was very tasty. We also rented a scooter from them at a good price. Everything was great! We definitely recommend without any hesitation. Thank you for all the good quality service and hope to see you again 😊

Beautiful location, amazing snorkelling we especially liked the local turtles who swam with us and very helpful and friendly staff. They organised anything we needed and all the food was delicious. The beach villa was very well appointed and worked perfectly for our family of 4. Thanks to Freddie for the hospitality it was lovely to see him again after our previous visit 12 years ago.

Banda Ache as a city is quite abysmal.

Banda Ache as a city is quite abysmal. Litter strewn so untidy. Noisy .Pavements/sidewalks are appalling mostly. The tsunami museum well worth visiting, it’s the only thing there, apart from the quite good ferry terminal used to go to the islands. Finding the boat on the roof very difficult, you have to persevere in the many twists and turns. Drivers here on Samartra have no driver awareness or road etiquette for fellow drivers, and an even lower respect for pedestrians- drivers are rude, intolerant, drive far too fast for a city and give no thought to anyone but themselves. Locals can be very friendly or ignore you. Not a pleasant city

Lovely relaxing easy Island to travel on. We had scooters which were perfect, but many tuk tuks or taxis. Stunning Island, almost entirely covered in natural vegetation. Very low population, caters well for tourists. No flash restaurants that we came across but plenty of options around the Island. Much more relaxed than the mainland with Sharia law, just be respectful and dress appropriately. Bikinis etc on private beaches seem to be fine, but cover up to go on boats, into public areas etc. Once again lovely local people, a pleasure to visit.

Going to the many beaches, especially in Lampuuk and Lhoknga...

Going to the many beaches, especially in Lampuuk and Lhoknga. Hidden treasures of waterfalls and swimming in the Lhoknga river nice for children. Easy to get around with Grab or becak. We ate at Bless Flower, Lampuuk - the best grilled fish! Eky Momong for views on the beach. Ben Jawas for Middle Eastern food. Simpang Lima Cafe for lattes and nasi lemak. The Cut Nyak Dhien museum is fascinating, even though photos not with English blurbs. And of course Sabang with plethora of diving and snorkeling

Sabang is an amazing Island.

Sabang is an amazing Island. Some call the island Pulau Weh, some call it Sabang Island. It offers plenty of things to do and see. The people are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We both got there to get our PADI open water and PADI advanced open water. We did the course at Lumba Lumba diving center and would highly recommend that place. Huge amount of knowledge and very high standard. You pay a bit more, but still a lot less than let's say Bali or other places in the world. They are a 5-star PADI resort. The diving is among the best sites in the world, some say in the top 5 spots after Maladives, Mexico and Papua. Also the island provides lots of good food (for instance Baracuda, Dee Dee's, D&D fish). It's easy to get around on a rented scooter. We enjoyed two beautiful weeks there.

Pulah Weh is a cool island to drive around motorbike, it's...

Pulah Weh is a cool island to drive around motorbike, it's lush and green with lots of monkeys. Gapang beach is really nice and Bubble Addict is a great place to do dive courses at a far cheaper price than other parts of Indonesia. The ferry from Banda Aceh is frequent and really comfortable as everyone has an assigned seat.
