Maison Aurelia is a lovely hotel property on the main street in Sanur, about a block from the beach. The rooms are large and soundproofed with balconies overlooking the town. The hotel provides glass bottles and there is a filtered water dispenser on every floor to reduce plastic waste. There is an attached restaurant and spa. The masseuses were very experienced, unlike in some spas in town. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices and good coffee. The salads served at other meals were superb although we mostly ate out at the excellent Three Monkeys down the road. There is a workout room with yoga mats, always appreciated. Finally, Sanur is a charming small town on the sea with a nice beach boardwalk, a destination in itself, about 1 hour from Ubud but much calmer with less traffic. Top marks!

Clean, very good hospitality and very friendly staff (all the workers in this hotel are very nice and very polite). Even the workers in the higher class hotels / much more expensive hotels aren’t as nice as the workers in this hotel 🤍🤍🤍🤍 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. The room service also top notch, too nice. They gave me clothes hanger (gantungan handuk/baju) and they hang my clothes there so my clothes could dry, even though I didn't ask them to do that, thank you so much 😊 🙏 you guys are very awesome. One they I put ansign that I don’t need them to clean up my room but in the evening they asked me if I need them to clean up my room. The only thing that they need to upgrade is the “WIFI” in the room. The wifi couldn’t work at all, only work at n restaurant.

A little slice of peace and quiet in busy Sanur. My cottage had a private garden with covered platform and Bali beds for relaxing or reading. A private walled patio with outdoor shower, bed was supremely comfortable. The staff were friendly, kind, and very attentive. Beachside bar and dining area, breakfasts are delicious, with plenty of options! Pool is beautiful and refreshing. Hotel right on walking/bike path - fantastic access to everything! I could live here!

Kopi Kiosk was a 5minute walk away down Jasmin Gang/lane.

Kopi Kiosk was a 5minute walk away down Jasmin Gang/lane. Hardies supermarket was next door to the Kiosk for grocery supplies and souvenirs and clothing. I always recommend Sanur to people heading to Bali for a first trip or tenth trip.

The city can be busy, but that’s part of its charm. You’ll find colorful shops, friendly locals, and a lot of interesting cultural spots like temples and museums. The food is amazing—whether you try street food or dine in restaurants, everything feels full of flavor and tradition.

I went to a restaurant: WARUNG KLUMPU DENPASAR very close to the hotel. They had excellent atmosphere good food and if I stayed longer I would have come back. So please try and experience it yourself!

Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to...

Great city to explore... wish we would have had more time to look around. Everyone we met or talked to were very friendly and kind. Highly recommend. Be prepared to spend time in a vehicle as the traffic is a challenge at best. We went to one of the local malls, enjoying it immensely.

We loved the shops including the women with the market stores, the beach was idilic and very clean. The lagoon and reef picture perfect with beautiful blue boats and family life. Easy walking even with the sidewalks being made. Great variety of food and bars. Loved Icon Bali, just fabulous something for everyone's budget. Least favorite was the bikes on the esplanade, I dont mind moving when they ring the bell but some tourists not friendly. Love Sanur, very pleasurable and can't wait to return Next time I'm hiring a motorbike! I recommend Anna's warung and the satay house next to her for delicious food and unique experience

I loved the natural weave of traffic, the kindness and respect of the Balinese people, and how hardworking they are. So much to offer, for all budgets. I have yet to discover more of Denpaser on my next visit.

It was easy to get around but little to do nearby. A great turtle conservation centre that will keep most people occupied for up to an hour. It's very easy to get to the ports - one of the best port experiences I've had in Bali where you aren't overwhelmed by people trying to / demanding they order you taxis or sell you things.

Denpasar is often overlooked and yet has so much to offer.

Denpasar is often overlooked and yet has so much to offer. There is history, culture, good food and places with open space, great views and room to walk if you know where to look. It's also a great base from which you can visit other areas and enjoy unique experiences with little travel time. If you are after a unique Balinese experience without wall to wall tourists, do a little research and you may find that Denpasar has a lot to offer.
