Pescara is ok for a night on the way inland to the fabulous Abruzzo mountains. It is a medium sized modern city with much of its earlier charm replaced by hotels and apartment blocks. It beach-front is a nice walk and the beaches appear clean. The small port is interesting. Tucked away behind the port are a few streets of the original buildings with a wonderful museum in the old penal buildings and a number of avant garden galleries and cafes. Scumm is an anarchist bar worth a glass of wine.
Because of his eccentric views, the poet D'Annunzio is still a somewhat controversial figure, but in Italy -and especially Abruzzo - he is a local hero. (The university is named after him!) The house is not big, but if you are interested in unusual characters and/or this period on inter-war European literature, then go and take a look.
Wonderful seaside town easily accessed by plane or train. Some great restaurants and good shopping too. Delightful beaches in Summer. A great place to begin exploring the region of Abruzzo too.
Pescara offers an authentic Italian experience. It's centrally located to travel further into Abruzzo by public transport, train or bus, or by car. The city is located between the Adriatic sea and the mountains. The view from the bridge is fabulous! Food in this area is extremely delicious and fresh, people are friendly and the climate is perfect!
Teramo is nice town, lots of Historical place are there, You can reach the mountain and the sea in 20 minutes. Abruzzo is really special region, food&wine are fantastic.
Pescara is very nice to visit in spring and autumn. Nice beach walks, biking, good food and wonderful people. From Pescara you are less than one hour from the Parco Nationale d'Abruzzo with wonderful hiking possibilities. The hills around Pescara have wonderful old villages. Visit one of the agriturismo's or one of the Sagre to taste the local food and traditions. Don't go in July and August unless you like packed beaches and traffic jams along the coast.
Friendly city, safe atmoshpere, nice beaches, fine sand, reasonable prices, good pizza and icecream. Bonus: you can do a day (or half day trip) to one of the other beautiful cities in Abruzzo: Sumona, Pacentro, Scanno
City life by the beach. Not many international tourists. Nice people. 10 mins from the airport. Great outdoor vibe with the incredibly long promenade. This is our third time in 18 months and we love Abruzzo more each time.
A quaint village of historic houses, narrow streets & with a population of around 7000 very friendly inhabitants . Main eateries are pizza or pasta, plenty of cafe/bars all working hard to attract your business by offering free finger foods with your drinks. There is also a couple of good supermarkets in town. Pratola is situated in the middle of Abruzzo National Parks and would be good for hiking but not in the heat of Summer. During my 19 day stay in June 2017, every day was fine and with a high of 30 deg C which made hiking almost impossible. If you want to relax, eat, drink & watch the world go past, Pratola Peligna might be for you.
Very small but quaint. Not somewhere you must see but Albergo Stella definately made me happy that I stopped by there, on my way through Abruzzo. Also close to Rocca Calascio (45mins) which was incredible and truly a must see.

Every room has a little balcony, with incredible views of Assergi. Also, the hotel has a restaurant - pizzeria in it (with delicious Abruzzo food and wonderful pizzas), which is open almost always (except Fridays) for lunch and for a dinner. It can be very convenient when the weather is not the best - no need to walk to other places. As for the breakfast service, their coffee is the best and also goes very well with croissants. Moreover, the hotel is located near the mountains, which makes even half-day hikes possible.

Located is a quite area, 5 minutes walk to main bus and train station and 10 minutes to the beach, the apartment is new and modern styled, equipped with all you need, it exceeded our expectations. There are a lot of attentions which we never got up to now in other apartments. However, there is no breakfast included option, Fabrizio arranged from behalf of the house sufficient snacks, sweets, jams, juice, tea, coffee and even welcomed us with red wine d'Abruzzo.

Beautiful settings, comfortable stay, welcoming and accomodating hosts, location was perfect and easy to find with a sat nav. We arrived late into Pescara-Abruzzo airport and stayed only one night on route to Gargano peninsula. Next time we'll definitely stay longer so that we can explore Pescara and the surrounding areas and enjoy the stay at this gorgeous villa and its beautiful grounds! Thanks for your hospitality!

The hotel is located in a beautiful old town in the middle of the Abruzzo national park. The hotel personal were really helpful and very kind. They gave us information about the town and what to do and where to go. The view from the room was breathtaking, and we even got to enjoy the breakfast outside looking at the amazing view.

Located in the heart of the city's historic center, L'Annunziata was an excellent place from which to explore the city, its surrounding valley, and the Abruzzo region itself. The room in which I stayed was clean and comfortable, and Paolo was an exceptional host - friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

The best location in Sulmona and by far the best in Abruzzo. Tonino, the owner and manager, renovated the building with style and passion. The restaurant is excellent as well.
