a great experience, living in a real trullo. a good way of keeping the buildings used and maintained. Very well renovated, with pellet stove and heating. heating was arranged beforehand (it was a cold winter day) , so it was warm when we entered. good breakfast at a central place. recommendation for a dinner restaurant by local staff coordinator, who also explained everything well.

Beautiful location, the hotel is really nice and clean, rooms are very spacious and beautiful... The staff was very kind and at your disposal at all times... Every room has at least a partial sea view which is great, but maybe it would be nice if there were small balconies where you could sit and relax and dry your beach accessories... Only few rooms have proper balconies... But nevertheless, it is a beautiful hotel to which we hope return again in the future...

Wonderful 3* hotel It was everything you need that we wanted. Private clean beach, bed, breakfast. Don’t expect anything fancy or dated, this is the best option in the area for a private clean beach and authentic local culture. Staff were incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. Not all rooms have a beach view though they are comfortable, no air con but it wasn’t needed as the walls are very thick and and looked after even if the place is little outdated. You are dedicated an umbrella spot for the duration of your stay which is good for peace of mind of not having to find a spot no matter what time you go to the beach. Thank you so much for the hospitality :)

I really enjoyed everything about this hotel—the cleanliness, the food, and the staff’s attitude were all perfect. They even checked us into our room earlier than expected, which we truly appreciated. Later that night, when we had to leave the room, they kindly prepared a beautifully wrapped breakfast for us to take along.

Location was fabulous and the staff wonderful. The hotel is in the controlled zone for cars but you can drive to the check in and the concierge valet parks the car. The suite was out of this world with great views and we loved having our nightcap on the balcony . Thank you to all for an exceptional stay.

There is a lot to see and do in Bari old town and sampling...

There is a lot to see and do in Bari old town and sampling the local specialialties is an additional must. Do your research first and plan a walking tour of Bari to include stops for Strada Arco Basso (Orecchiette Street), the Basilica San Nicola (with the tomb of St Nicholas in the crypt below the church), Bari Cathedral (San Sabino), exploring the castle (Castello Svevo) and walking the city walls (not much shade later in the day in summer). You can even go for a swim off the rocks. As for the street food, Bari has a variety of items to try like Pazerotti, Panini col Polpo (Octopus sandwich), Barese Foccacia, Sgagliozze (deep-fried polenta squares), bombette (hot sausages off the grill), and taralli (round little crunchy biscuits), not to mention a host of different pastries including Sporcamuss (puff pastry filled with a custard cream). Then there are two must try pasta dishes, Orechiette with turnip greens (Cime di Rape) or Assassins Spaghetti (spaghetti all’assassina). There are a number of pizzerias. Most are good and my favourite place to get an icecream is Gentile Gelteria which is near the castle. Enjoy.

Monopoli is an amazing coastal city.

Monopoli is an amazing coastal city. The old city is picturesque and offers a lot of restaurants and good food. The beaches are, in my opinion, better than the ones in Polignano a mare, because they have sand and are not so touristy, real Italians go there. We especially enjoyed Lido Cala Paradiso, it is very safe to swim, there are also little caves that you can swim to. I liked the easy train transportation to Bari, Polignano etc. It is also fairly close to Alberobello with car or bus (please consider that busses weren’t available before 11 o’clock. Overall, in my opinion, the city is a preferred option for stay than Polignano a mare. It offers longer coastal line, more beaches, and more history.

Polignano a Mare is a nice lively town with a free nice but rocky beaches in bay that are surrounded by rocks. It looks beautiful. The beaches are rocky, but the sea is wonderful. The historical center is really cute with small streets and lots of shops and restaurants. There are many good places to eat, especially if you like seafood.

The outside space is huge and it’s a lovely place to relax in the evening or the day. Plenty of seating areas, tables and a bbq. The house is surrounded by lots of lovely pine cone trees and olives trees. At night it’s all lit up beautifully and you have a nice long driveway before you reach the house, it’s nice that it’s tucked away from other properties. It’s easy to drive around in that area, the roads are quiet. The rooms do have air con which was great but no wifi but you can get service on your phone anyway. There was a local bakery (maybe a 5 min drive) where you could buy croissants and pasticciotto which I love 😋!

Conversano is a great town to use as a base in Puglia.

Conversano is a great town to use as a base in Puglia. The town itself is lovely, and every Tuesday during the summer, there is a party on the RampaVilla steps. It is also close enough to enjoy the beautiful nearby beaches and to take day trips to towns like Alberobello, Polignano a Mare, Monopoli, Ostuni, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, and even Lecce.

We reached Molfetta in the afternoon, on a Saturday.

We reached Molfetta in the afternoon, on a Saturday. The city was particularly dead in this hour - nowhere to buy food, no shops, no people. That changed after 6 pm. We used it as a base to visit Bari (with the train) and Matera (with tourist bus from Bari). We chose it because we didn’t want to sleep in Bari. This was a bit difficult because the old city, where we stayed, is a bit far from the train station - 20 min walk, which is a bit too much when you drag 20 kg of luggage. It is a good alternative, I guess, but it is a small city with less tourists, which means you don’t have the bonuses that comes with this - food all day, souvenirs, etc. the old city does not have much to offer in comparison to the old cities of Polignano a Mare or Monopoli. It only has picturesque streets and an old church. The beach had sand, but no lounges or showers. It is a way to experience the way italians go to the beach, considering there where no tourists. I might have had a higher expectation about the city and its beaches from what I read online, which is why I was not as impressed as with other cities in Apulia. It is overall a good place to stay on a budget, but should be noted it can be a little boring if you stay more than a few hours inside the city. The booking costed half the money than the prices in Bari and promised to be quieter and have the charm of a small city, which is why we choose it. Overall the city was nice, but I am not sure if I will visit again. I think Bari Sud is a good alternative for people who does not want to sleep near the crowds in Bari and be close to the sea and train station.

Mola Di Bari is a small town living its own daily life,...

Mola Di Bari is a small town living its own daily life, rarely visited by tourists, which is a plus. It has a nice old core around the cathedral, the fortress, and a large main square, the centre of everything. A few shops to meet your basic needs, no shopping centres. The long chain of small rocky beaches within walking distance. Very good train connections. If all of this is OK with you, you would not regret staying there.
