Its a nice small hotel with extremely helpful owners and you couldn't ask for a better view. The owners helped us with were to go, renting of scooters and even picked us up when we were lost after taking the wrong bus. The rooms were nice and simple but very clean and breakfast was fine aswell. For a 3star hotel you really get value for your money.

Breakfast on the terrace was an international feast thoughtfully prepared by our wonderful host, Christian. It included Italian cornettis, German yogurts, fresh fruits and juices, cereals and muesli from various countries, homemade jams and jellies, and the fluffiest scrambled eggs made with local ingredients. The coffee and tea bar was exceptional, offering various drink choices that made me return for more. Picture this - a mesmerizing view of the deep blue Mediterranean Sea and the charm of Sant Angelo, all of it visible through a beautiful pergola covered in vibrant bougainvilleas. The view is so stunning that it will leave you spellbound.

Picturesque Island of Volcanic Rock, Thermal Spas and Pristine Beaches

Located 30 km from Naples and formed by a complex volcano, the pristine and breathtaking Ischia Island is Mother Nature’s hidden gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is surrounded by an unspoiled coastline, thermal spas, several hiking routes and spectacular scenery.

Built in 474 BC, Aragonese Castle which is perched on natural volcanic rock, is the most impressive historical monument on Ischia Island, and is a modern day reminder of the islands past. Another wonder of island is the Gardens of La Mortella. Filled with tropical and Mediterranean plants, these picture-perfect gardens offer some of the best views over the region and Forio Harbour.

Other attractions on Ischia Island are beaches such as Maronti Beach and Citara Beach. There is also the Angelo Rizzoli Museum, which is a museum of the famous Italian publisher and film producer Angelo Rizzoli, along with the mushroom rock (known to locals as the Fungo) located just off the port of Lacco Ameno. Several local restaurants and bars are scattered around the island serving traditional and local delights.

One of the most interesting and unique areas on Ischia Island is the bay of Citara, and the famous Poseidon thermal Gardens. It features several pools, spas, a traditional Roman Sauna, a private beach and various restaurants. Visitors also have great transportation links by bus around the island.

The Hotel Tritone has an elegant atmosphere. Guests are delighted by a superb staff, from the moment of check-in, the front desk personnel was extremely welcoming and helpful, making the stay truly special. The staff at the therms was great, suggesting the best personalised treatment. A special mention for the staff of restaurant: they’re anticipating every wish without being pushy, genuinely pleased that their guests are so delighted to be there.

Breakfasts are Italian style, with lot of sweet pastry. Nice and strong coffee or cappuccino on request. Very polite and professional waiters. Clean and well maintained pools are good standard here for a long time. Hotel location is convenient in the heart of Ischia Porto, near to grocery and bus stop, location safe due to police station nearby. Reception professional, kind and very helpful. Forio is ideal for its location, selection of shops food, nightlife, pedestrian friendly, and child friendly. Plan just a 20 minute drive to any real location on the island. From forio drive to ischia port, Serrara Fontana ( hiking up the peak) or Sant’Angelo in less than 20 minutes! Walk to the port and enjoy beaches or dining in less than 10 minutes! If you’re busing 🚌 it’s only 30 minutes to any real location!

A beautiful island with a range of personal experiences that made our vist unique. Everyone we met was so friendly and we enjoyed all of our time on the island. We did find the roads very narrow and different to drive with a hire car. Th thermal pools at Poseidon were outstanding. We visited in mid-October and found that the island was in the process of shutting down for the off season. Despite this, we are now missing the fabulous family run restaurants and quiet hotel. Would love to go back and visit again.

Where can I start?

Where can I start? Our stay at Casa Nicola was excellent with a very friendly host, Marisa taking her pride to accommodate us, as if her house guests! Chosen very comfortable rooms, cleaned & maintained impeccably by her family members. And amazing food she cooked every night, rustic homemade pasta soups followed by the varieties of tasty mains, - meat and fish prepared simply but all with care & attentions. Her homemade cakes at both breakfast and dinner were delights, - one evening we found out that was Marisa’s birthday, she fed all the guests a feast, a delicate quiche, sea bream and homemade ‘Ferra- Roche’ like chocolate truffles but 1000% yummier! On our departure, she gave us big hugs just like what family friends does, with eagerly handed us big lemons. No wonder many of the guests wish to come back there, since Madam Nicola first time lodged a German artist more than 40 years ago. Grazie, Marisa and all the family for being so hospitable. Ischia was gorgeous.

Ischia was gorgeous. We stayed on the West (Forio) for the best sunsets. We think it was much nicer than the Ischia Porto. Forio is much quieter than Ischia Porto and much more attractive town. It is so easy getting the bus around the Island. The Island is small so easy to explore.

One of the best places I've been.

One of the best places I've been. Everything was wonderful from beaches to restaurants to views. We took advantage of the local bus service to get to S. Angelo in 2 directions. The rides were unbelievable. Will hire a scooter next time.

Lovely island, it felt like a hidden gem.

Lovely island, it felt like a hidden gem. Not many tourists there this time of year (october). We loved Poseidon. The town Sant'Angelo was beautiful! The Marina/beach and restaurants nearby was very quaint and clean.
