I love the family/staff who are there, from gardeners , room attendant, owners, restaurant staff. They were all so kind, helpful and they gave us a lot of tips on how to enjoy Ischia to the max (airport transfers, best pizza on the island, beach, boat island tour, going around, etc, etc). The room was impeccably clean (hubby only stays in immaculately clean rooms) . Thought it was small at first, but actually was very comfortable size-wise and had a super view of the sea and garden from the balcony. The garden was beautiful with its diverse flora , so well kept, it’s a pleasure to savor the beauty of them all. The pools (one normal with jets , 1 thermal) were perfect for 4 couples to swim at the same time, so sizes are ok. Enough umbrellas and lounge chairs for all to enjoy. Breakfast was consistently good, with more than enough selection , can always order egg dishes as well. Our 5-course dinner on Sunday was with cognilio (famous specialty of Ischia) or fish as main dish , served. We opted for the fish though, so we missed the opportunity to taste the island’s best fish. But, we were more than satisfied with the fish too and pleasantly surprised how great each course was, the presentation and taste! Ambience for dinner at the terrace was also quite romantic .

The staff are incredible (Fabio made our stay exceptional and gave us a lot of suggestions, booked an experience for us, and made sure we were taken care of every day). The place itself is also just unbelievably gorgeous and special. The breakfast is amazing, dinner is even better, and sitting on the rooftop for a drink is very spectacular. Staying here was so special and comfortable, and we really enjoyed the seclusion after being in busier parts of Italy. Ask Fabio for the tiny taxi number (and book pickup times with them and bring cash). They are the nicest people and I’m so grateful that they took us around so much to experience Ischia, as our time there was limited (I recommend staying for 3+ days!).

Hotel located in a beautiful monastery castle. The main highlight is the hotel itself inside the monastery and part of the castle, which is Ischia's main attraction. Museums, patios, beautiful gardens, a mix of garden with vegetable garden, flowers and vegetables. The room is simple but comfortable, with a good bathroom and shower. The best breakfast: sweets, cakes, pie; black rice salad with leaves from the garden, variety of homemade breads, fresh mozzarella, juices, fruits, nuts, eggs, cold cuts, gluten-free, etc. The hotel restaurant is excellent, food worthy of the best quality restaurant. There are guests who complain about stairs and the room not being large. The hotel is inside a historic building, a monastery and it is impossible not to have stairs. There is already an elevator that takes you from the entrance to the highest part where the hotel is located. But some stairs are unavoidable. The thick walls limit WiFi, which works well in the room, and near the reception and restaurant. Ultimately, a special accommodation and an experience.

I had the best time at Torre Sant’Angelo and I wish I could have stayed longer! I was only there for 3 nights, but next time I’m there I will be staying longer!! The hotel was beautiful and the view was incredible! It was extraordinary. I was so lucky to get a bathtub in my room, which was on the balcony with glass walls around it! I loved it! The people working there were so great and nice, especially Umberto. He was so helpful, nice and made the stay even better. The food in the restaurant was amazing! I can’t wait to go back because I had such a relaxing and good time there! It felt like I was home!

Located 30 km from Naples and formed by a complex volcano, the pristine and breathtaking Ischia Island is Mother Nature’s hidden gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is surrounded by an unspoiled coastline, thermal spas, several hiking routes and spectacular scenery.

Built in 474 BC, Aragonese Castle which is perched on natural volcanic rock, is the most impressive historical monument on Ischia Island, and is a modern day reminder of the islands past. Another wonder of island is the Gardens of La Mortella. Filled with tropical and Mediterranean plants, these picture-perfect gardens offer some of the best views over the region and Forio Harbour.

Other attractions on Ischia Island are beaches such as Maronti Beach and Citara Beach. There is also the Angelo Rizzoli Museum, which is a museum of the famous Italian publisher and film producer Angelo Rizzoli, along with the mushroom rock (known to locals as the Fungo) located just off the port of Lacco Ameno. Several local restaurants and bars are scattered around the island serving traditional and local delights.

One of the most interesting and unique areas on Ischia Island is the bay of Citara, and the famous Poseidon thermal Gardens. It features several pools, spas, a traditional Roman Sauna, a private beach and various restaurants. Visitors also have great transportation links by bus around the island.

The accommodation was excellent. The room looked very nice, and I believe it was completely reconstructed. The room was big, the bed was comfortable, and the interior looked beautiful, with nice tiling. The bathroom was spacious. Another advantage is a large balcony, where it is possible to sit and relax. The air conditioning was brand new. The accommodation was just a few minutes from the main building, but it was mainly connected by other buildings. There is also a golf cart transfer if your room is not directly in the main building. However, I was accommodated close to the reception and restaurants as well. During evenings, there was also a live performance by musicians. The breakfast was great; the choice was excellent. The resort offers a very nice view of the sea. The beach is not far, about ten minutes' walk. I think the price/quality ratio was very good. I strongly recommend the resort. My friends and I were very satisfied.

This was a new destination and one of my friends advised me to visit Forio as a summer vacation direction and I am very thankful her for this chance, The Island was very nisce, clean and the sea was fantastic. I fell in love with Ischia and will advice my freiends to plan one of the best summer vactaion option. By the way, the most inportant tnhig in Forio is its Sunsets. Ischia as an island is a wonderful destination that offers the perfect blend of authentic Italian charm, history, beautiful beaches and excellent restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with stunning sea views, picturesque streets and the magnificent Aragonese Castle just a short walk away. The family was very helpful .

The family was very helpful . They answered our questions, made recommendations on what to see, where to go and how to get there (including types of buses and bus numbers). They recommended a great restaurant for our final night on the island. We had a great time at the Anchor with superb food and nice romantic music.

Where can I start?

Where can I start? Our stay at Casa Nicola was excellent with a very friendly host, Marisa taking her pride to accommodate us, as if her house guests! Chosen very comfortable rooms, cleaned & maintained impeccably by her family members. And amazing food she cooked every night, rustic homemade pasta soups followed by the varieties of tasty mains, - meat and fish prepared simply but all with care & attentions. Her homemade cakes at both breakfast and dinner were delights, - one evening we found out that was Marisa’s birthday, she fed all the guests a feast, a delicate quiche, sea bream and homemade ‘Ferra- Roche’ like chocolate truffles but 1000% yummier! On our departure, she gave us big hugs just like what family friends does, with eagerly handed us big lemons. No wonder many of the guests wish to come back there, since Madam Nicola first time lodged a German artist more than 40 years ago. Grazie, Marisa and all the family for being so hospitable. Lacco Ameno has a nice relaxed vibe and comes to life in the evening. The little boutique shops and restaurants and bars are all open. It feels like Lacco Ameno is a little more “up market”. It feels safe and not too busy or noisy. If you feel like a change of scenery it’s easy to buy bus tickets in the supermarket to travel to another town.

A beautiful island with a range of personal experiences that made our vist unique. Everyone we met was so friendly and we enjoyed all of our time on the island. We did find the roads very narrow and different to drive with a hire car. Th thermal pools at Poseidon were outstanding. We visited in mid-October and found that the island was in the process of shutting down for the off season. Despite this, we are now missing the fabulous family run restaurants and quiet hotel. Would love to go back and visit again.

Authenticity.

Authenticity. This felt like a very Italian holiday location that Italians themselves enjoy holidaying - not pretentious or as busy as Capri. The food was really good, and the locations we visited on the island were clean, un-spoiled and friendly.

Ischia Town has lots of moderately priced but very nice...

Ischia Town has lots of moderately priced but very nice shops, some lovely restaurants on the water with beautiful views and charming decor. Closes relatively early on Tuesdays. The town is very close to the castle, a relatively short and beautiful stroll to see the sights in the lively downtown area.

One of the best places I've been.

One of the best places I've been. Everything was wonderful from beaches to restaurants to views. We took advantage of the local bus service to get to S. Angelo in 2 directions. The rides were unbelievable. Will hire a scooter next time.
