Me and my parents stayed 2 nights only and we had the best time ever. The hotel is extremely clean and well oragnized, the staff is expectional (special thanks to Ilaria!). From breakfast to dinner, the food is literally great. We loved everything and wished we could have stayed more days. Also, the atmosphere is very relaxed as everything is taken care of and the area is quiet. I would definitely come back

San Montano is hands down the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The island of Ischia is so special and the location and outlook is breathtaking. The facilities, staff and experience we had here will never be beaten. We came to celebrate three years together and left engaged to be married. We can’t thank Marco and his team enough! 🌅🥂
Our 4 nights on ischia followed 6 nights in Sorrento. We visited the Amalfi coast, Napoli, Capri and more before heading to San Montano, but our time there was the highlight of our trip.
We had activities planned on the island, which we cancelled when we realised how beautiful the grounds and pools are. The photos really don’t do it justice!
We would recommend you visit Castello Aragonese and/or Sant’Angelo while there and there’s some lovely family run restaurants down in the town below, that the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle bus too.
Make sure you book a spa treatment. We did a couples massage, which was great.
Just book and you won’t regret it!

Located very close to the port/marina which suited our ferry hopping holiday.
The hotel offered everything you needed.
The pool on the roof was nice.
Lots of bars and restaurants close by, and a shopping street with some beautiful and different clothes, shoes bags etc..
A balcony overlooking the marina/port was great for watching the ferry’s at work!
Breakfast was enough for us. Cereals, fruit, yogurt, cakes, croissants, breads, jams, scrambled eggs, hot dogs and bacon.
Luigi who worked in the bar was great at remembering our order/drinks and room number.
Admire beautiful views across the coast of Lacco Ameno from the panoramic location of this charming hotel. Relax in the wellness centre which includes a natural, thermal pool.

We loved Sant Angelo- definitely worth a visit and onto a boat taxi to Maronti beach. Cava dell'isola beach was down a steep slope but much less crowded than other beaches. We couldn't even get a space on Citara beach as so much of it is taken up by Poseidon thermal park sunbeds and other beach clubs, of which most were empty, but a common theme in Italy.
Lacco Ameno was lovely to visit early evening and take dinner in the hills and dinner around Porto Ischia is also worth doing watching all the yachts come in
Buses that link the main towns are frequent and the weekly bus pass is cheap.

Ischia is such a beautiful island and the local people are so welcoming. You feel appreciated and there are a lot of options to eat in restaurants and entertainment in the streets. The island is easy to get around and each part has its own paradise with mild climate, picturesque scenery, and numerous thermal mineral springs. The Aragonese Castle is interesting and you are able to have a tour and the view is spectacular.

Ischia is perfect for a 4-5 day stay.
Ischia is perfect for a 4-5 day stay. A boat tour of the island where you can stop and swim at various locations is highly recommended. The restaurants, bars, and cafes around the various towns are all excellent. Perhaps the most important thing to be aware of is the cost of cabs/taxis on the island: the rates are extremely high as the tourist season is short. The buses are a much more affordable option, but they can often be crowded and you may still need to do a lot of walking to get to/from your destination. We were shocked at how much we had to spend on taxis (easily 3-4x's more than other cities).

We only stayed in Forio but would love to return and explore the island more. Small beach but crisp clean waters, perfect for dip with a small child. Cute shops and nice food. There’s also a bakery by the beach which was very popular with visitors and locals for breakfast and lunch to take away.

The fact not many Brits at this time in July - mainly Italian families from Naples so Italian was heard all over. But on the negative side, it was quite noisy with Italian children most nights as they stay up very late.
Ischia is a very pretty little island with beautifully warm waters due to the thermal waters - prices were reasonable in most areas including italian clothes. Lovely cafes and good choice of restaurants although we did eat half board at the hotel apart from our last night. I would definitely return but not in holiday season.

Not over crowded, many locals visit the island.
Not over crowded, many locals visit the island.
The restaurants are various, we had a pizza for 8 eur!! But we also had a dinner for a much higher price.
It is a very relaxing island, although we only visited a small part of it.
Next time I will consider driving around, to see more of the island.
Many hotels/resorts offer shuttle services to the hot spots of the area! This was very convenient for us.
We loved it all, the hotel, the outside pool, the location, is close to the beach, you can go to Cava dell Isola, wich is the nicest beach we've been to!! You have plenty of restaurants close to the hotel! The breakfast was very nice too, with both salty and sweet food! For dinner and for the price you pay, I would rather recommend to skip it and go try the restaurants nearby. For the location,at first we worried because is far from Ischia Porto, but trust me, this side of the island is more quiet and virgin. Here we saw the nicest sunsets!
Just everything!
I only planned one night on ischia but then chose to extendy stay!
Great room,
Great pool
Great spa
Great staff
Honestly I've not expected this and can only recommend this hotel.
You're close to the harbour and the ferries, the bus station and the old town.
The "library" at the reception is also worth mentioning, maybe you'll find my souvenir inside a book
The stay in this hotel was just perfect. We enjoyed the service, the location, food and beverages, beautiful views... Especially I want to underline the perfect spa zone and Maria - her massages and relaxing procedures, custom oriented approach and professionalism. Just trust her magic hands and benefit from her experience. Thanks to all the staff, Maria - you are the best!
No words can describe the location of this property. It excelled everything we thought it would be. The property was very high spec and the hosts were extremely accommodating. It is a ‘little gem’. We’ve stayed in many 5 star hotels/spas, however, this property definitely gave you a better sense of well-being. Can’t wait to return.
Lovely place, well equipped kitchen and beautiful spacious garden terrace. Perfect location in Ischia Porto - close to the beach and Ischia Ponte. Special thanks to the cleaning lady and her daughter for the warmhearted welcome and farewell:-)
