FAQs about hotels in Sorrento

Colourful and Captivating

Overlooking the Bay of Naples and with views of the Vesuvius volcano, Sorrento is a colourful town in Campania. According to the Greek legend, it was the land of the sirens that had the power to enchant with their singing.

The town of Sorrento has gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque architecture, and a big variety of restaurants, shops and cafés. Built around the 11th century, the Romanesque Cathedral of Sorrento is the city’s most important landmark. The charming Bell Tower with the beautiful majolica clock is the first thing that you will notice.

The picturesque harbour of Marina Grande has some of the best restaurants in the city. Wander around during sunset and you will see fishermen cleaning their nets. Marina Piccola is the place to get a ferry to Capri, Amalfi and Naples.

Born in a garden of lemon and oranges, the traditional yellow liquor of limoncello is a unique aperitif or digestive drink. The mediterranean climate of Sorrento helps in the production of this famous refreshment.

There were many places to visit while staying in Sorrento - Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Amalfi, Positano. There are many buses, trains and ferries to travel on. There are a variety of bars, restaurants and gelato shops to enjoy as well as a variety of shops. There is a lift which you can use to get from the Port to the town as it is a steep climb.

    Quaint and lovely town!

Quaint and lovely town! Wonderful if you're looking to get away from the big cities, and spend time in a small town peppered with good food and a rustic atmosphere. I went at the start of spring, and the weather was delightful. Main town square can be crowded, but I found some very cute galleries and a photographer's studio in the back lanes. Easy to get to other parts of the region by bus and train. if you're into climbing, Punto Campanella has amazing views!

Sorrento is the perfect town to stay on the amalfi coastline . From here you can access the amalfi villages .in march however you have to use the bus only no ferry option . It was a worth travel ! The bus company runs frequently though you need to arrive 30-1hr before your planned departure to get a sit or even get on the bus .you might need to stand or wait for the next . Tickets are purchased in the cafe near trainstation . Buy return ticket too :) I had dinner at restaurane pizzeria S.Antonino.i highly recommend 👌🏾. I had a hard time finding nice bars though but a lady in my hostel said she was in a bar with love music .

Sorrento was lovely- I wouldn't suggest going in late Feb like we did - wait until their season gets going as lots of things are shut for the winter. I would probably stay a max of 3 days here or stay on the prettier Amalfi coast side and do a day trip to Sorrento- its easily reached by bus.

I was traveling with people for whom the steep streets were hard to walk. But it is a lovely city. It was”off-season” In January, many restaurants were closed as expected. Yet there was still heavy traffic and hard to park, not expected. We drove up to Pompei and loved that marvelous place. If you have any walking issues,I recommend staying in town. We had great seafood at restaurants recommended by a taxi driver and a shopkeeper. That’s an advantage of traveling off-season; people have time to talk to you.

Amazing amazing stay! This was our last hotel in Italy and by far, the best. Perfectly located near many restaurants and shops; 10 min walk to the train station and the marina. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom has a full sink, bidet, and full shower with a waterfall shower head. Our bed was made, bath towels changed, and toiletries refilled daily. And the AC! The AC blows so cold which was very important for my fiance who runs hot all the time. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was attentive and friendly!

The hotel was a nice surprise. Based on being 3 stars I was a pleasantly surprised at how good it was . The rooms were the most spacious we had in Italy. The bed was comfortable, the blockout shades were excellent and windows were sound proof. The location was close to centre but far enough away to be out of the busy streets of Sorrento. The rooms were exceptionally clean. Nice tiled floors. Good Airconditioning . The breakfast was good. The staff were pleasant. I highly recommend .

The location of the property was great, only a short walk to the centre. There is a deli/convenience store below which is very handy. We would highly recommend getting a fresh made sandwich (great for bringing on a day trip to Amalfi/Positano, etc; ). The unit was spacious and clean, and a great price for Sorrento. They come by each day to remake the bed and change towels every two days (no where else we stayed in Italy did this for us, so this was a nice treat).

Very bright rooms with comfortable beds and pillows. It wasn’t in the heart of the tourist area but only a short walk. Front desk and dinning room staff were so great and efficient. I hurt my knee while in Italy and the staff were alway ready to fill a plastic bag with ice so I could treat thee swelling. Fantastic experience. The staff were by far the best we’ve had on an extended holiday through Italy. The hotel isn’t walking distance to the city but the shuttle bus leaves and returns every hour. This was a good thing as it was quiet at night. The restaurant was so good that we ate there every night for 5 nights. The panoramic view was second to none. We would recommend it to anyone.
