It was a great experience to stay at Panariello Palace for 5 nights. We were delighted by the lovely interior of the hotel, its daily cleaning service. The rooms were warm and spotless. Very comfortable bed. We had a free shuttle to and from the hotel and Agerola centre where there are lots of restaurants open until midnight. The staff were helpful, professional and very nice. The owners are very involved in the upkeep of the hotel and in providing various services to the guests. It was refreshing to see so much work and love put into making our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place.

FAQs about hotels in Campania

Stunning Scenery and Remarkable Ruins

Wonderful beach resorts, a wealth of history and winding, cliff-hugging roads – these are just a few reasons why Campania is so admired.

Spreading around a bay, the capital Naples is a mix of monumental architecture and narrow streets. Known for pizza and pulsating life night and day, it extends along the coast towards Pozzuoli, site of a Roman amphitheatre and the Phlegrean Fields volcanic area.

The most notorious volcano is of course Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79AD destroyed Pompei and Herculaneum. The ruins of both are an amazing insight into the sophistication of the Romans. Even older are the well-preserved Greek temples at Paestum.

Agropoli sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a beach and harbour, and beautiful Palinuro is at the tip of the Cilento National Park. Other fantastic Campania resorts are on the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ravello, high on a hill, offers stunning coastal views, while Amalfi and Positano cascade down to the sea. Around the peninsula is Sorrento, home to several 5-star Campania hotels, while offshore are the fabulous islands of Capri and Ischia.

Inland Caserta has an impressive Royal Palace with huge gardens, and Avellino nestles in a valley between the port of Salerno and Benevento, site of yet more Roman remains. See Booking.com for an excellent range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Campania.

We spent a lovely week at Le Palme Resort and felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The bungalow was spotless, and the location couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach and close to everything we needed. A few moments of noise here and there, but nothing that spoiled our relaxing holiday. The resort’s entertainment team, made our week unforgettable. Their energy, friendliness, and ability to engage both kids and adults really brought the place to life. Every show and activity felt fresh and fun ,it added so much to our holiday We left feeling rested and would happily come back. missing the resort already 😢

We spent 5 nights here to attend a wedding in the area, we had 5 children with us, 2 teenagers and 8,10 and 11. The hotel was spotless, pool was gorgeous, play area for children, the reps in the kids club came looking for the children to join. The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were very pleasant. A ring belong to my daughter fell down the drain in the bathroom, it was of sentimental value to her, they didn't hesitate to help and got the ring from the pipe for her. Highly recommend.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Staff were exceptional from start to finish, and went to every length to ensure maximum comfort and leisure. The regular cleaning, turn down service, concierge were always outstanding. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and included a wonderful spa bath. The balcony was lovely with a beautiful view. The hotel facilities and the dining venues were all suitably luxurious and so enjoyable. Breakfast was included and was fantastic every day.

Going in summer is incredibly hot.

Going in summer is incredibly hot. We mainly stayed in the historic centre with fun bars and restaurants. On the last day we went to the waterfront and kind of wished we had done that earlier as it was so beautiful. Pompeii is very close by, and the archaeological museum is perfect to pair with Pompeii. We struggled a little bit with things staying open on a Monday and Tuesday, a lot of places that aren’t right in the centre are closed then. We ate loads of pizza in loads of different restaurants, I wouldn’t rush to go to the ones with the big queues outside, it is my understanding that all pizza in Naples is excellent. Don’t forget the cakes! The sfogliatelle are amazing. The metro is great for getting around. There’s a few different areas of Naples, it’s definitely worth checking out and getting lost in.

I really enjoyed my stay in Sorrento. It was lively and busy, but never felt suffocating. The streets were beautiful and full of atmosphere, and the beaches and sea were incredible — that deep green water reminded me of Lucio Dalla’s “Caruso.” A beautiful place with a special feeling. I would definitely come back.

I have been here many times and it's a good alternative to staying in Sorrento - ie you are visiting the Amalfi coast. Salerno offers you a good spot from where you can visit Amalfi, Caserta, il Vesuvio, Pestum and many other spots in the area. I highly reccomend Vetri as the beach to visit for an afternoon and then have dinner-- it's close and easy. Salerno is the other side of Amalfi if you are considering Napoli as the place to stay to visit Amalfi- I have stayed in Sorrento as well. Keep in mind getting in and out of the Amalfi coast requires driving very windy roads. Other fact to consider that Napoli is only 1'10" by fast train from Rome- Salerno is a little farther.

It is lovely but ridiculously expensive. In particular the taxis are 60 euros for 10 mins and a return trip to Ravello cost 360 euros which was more than the air fare to the very grotty Naples airport.

Absolutely beautiful place with stunning views. It's a pity what instagram did – it's very crowded and overpriced. Definitely luxurious. Most places are available by quite expensive taxi, even though, be prepared for large amount of hiking uphil if you want to see places other that city area. We wished we stayed longer, however it's also perfect and way cheaper to travel there for a day trip by ferry from Sorrento – only 30mins one way.

Absolutely amazing place.

Absolutely amazing place. Pompeii is truly inspiring, bringing history to life through the stories uncovered by centuries of archaeological excavation. Every street, home and ancient object reveals something about the people who lived here nearly 2,000 years ago. The preserved buildings, artwork and everyday possessions offer an extraordinary glimpse into Roman life. Walking through Pompeii feels like stepping into a moment frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Its excavations continue to tell human stories of love, family, work, tragedy and survival that still resonate today.xx
