It was a great experience to stay at Panariello Palace for 5 nights. We were delighted by the lovely interior of the hotel, its daily cleaning service. The rooms were warm and spotless. Very comfortable bed. We had a free shuttle to and from the hotel and Agerola centre where there are lots of restaurants open until midnight. The staff were helpful, professional and very nice. The owners are very involved in the upkeep of the hotel and in providing various services to the guests. It was refreshing to see so much work and love put into making our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed at this hotel for one night during our Amalfi Coast trip, and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences we had in Italy. The view of Mount Vesuvius was absolutely stunning. Waking up to that panorama felt unreal. The hotel itself was extremely clean, beautifully maintained, and everything felt very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was also genuinely amazing. Great selection, fresh products, and overall just a very enjoyable experience. One of those breakfasts where you actually want to sit longer and enjoy the morning. I’m personally very picky when it comes to choosing accommodations, and during this trip I was comparing both hotels and private Italian homes/apartments because they often have a special charm. But honestly, this hotel exceeded expectations and ended up being one of my favorite stays. It was more convenient, more comfortable, and overall just felt worth it in every way. Pros: • Incredible view of Mount Vesuvius • Very clean and beautiful rooms • Amazing breakfast • Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere • Great overall experience

FAQs about hotels in Campania

Stunning Scenery and Remarkable Ruins

Wonderful beach resorts, a wealth of history and winding, cliff-hugging roads – these are just a few reasons why Campania is so admired.

Spreading around a bay, the capital Naples is a mix of monumental architecture and narrow streets. Known for pizza and pulsating life night and day, it extends along the coast towards Pozzuoli, site of a Roman amphitheatre and the Phlegrean Fields volcanic area.

The most notorious volcano is of course Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79AD destroyed Pompei and Herculaneum. The ruins of both are an amazing insight into the sophistication of the Romans. Even older are the well-preserved Greek temples at Paestum.

Agropoli sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a beach and harbour, and beautiful Palinuro is at the tip of the Cilento National Park. Other fantastic Campania resorts are on the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ravello, high on a hill, offers stunning coastal views, while Amalfi and Positano cascade down to the sea. Around the peninsula is Sorrento, home to several 5-star Campania hotels, while offshore are the fabulous islands of Capri and Ischia.

Inland Caserta has an impressive Royal Palace with huge gardens, and Avellino nestles in a valley between the port of Salerno and Benevento, site of yet more Roman remains. See Booking.com for an excellent range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Campania.

We spent a lovely week at Le Palme Resort and felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The bungalow was spotless, and the location couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach and close to everything we needed. A few moments of noise here and there, but nothing that spoiled our relaxing holiday. The resort’s entertainment team, made our week unforgettable. Their energy, friendliness, and ability to engage both kids and adults really brought the place to life. Every show and activity felt fresh and fun ,it added so much to our holiday We left feeling rested and would happily come back. missing the resort already 😢

We spent 5 nights here to attend a wedding in the area, we had 5 children with us, 2 teenagers and 8,10 and 11. The hotel was spotless, pool was gorgeous, play area for children, the reps in the kids club came looking for the children to join. The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were very pleasant. A ring belong to my daughter fell down the drain in the bathroom, it was of sentimental value to her, they didn't hesitate to help and got the ring from the pipe for her. Highly recommend.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. Staff were exceptional from start to finish, and went to every length to ensure maximum comfort and leisure. The regular cleaning, turn down service, concierge were always outstanding. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and included a wonderful spa bath. The balcony was lovely with a beautiful view. The hotel facilities and the dining venues were all suitably luxurious and so enjoyable. Breakfast was included and was fantastic every day.

Naples completely surprised us in the best possible way.

Naples completely surprised us in the best possible way. Before our trip, we heard from several people that they wouldn’t recommend Naples, so we honestly didn’t know what to expect. But we absolutely loved it and would happily come back again. Of course, there are some areas where the streets are messy, with rubbish around, and sometimes you come across some rather unusual or unpleasant-looking people. But we never felt that this ruined our experience. Once we moved into different parts of the city, we were completely happy and really enjoyed the atmosphere of Naples. And the food was amazing! Honestly, everything we tried was delicious, even in small street-food places, little cafés or simple takeaway windows. The pizza Margherita was definitely our favourite — we loved it so much that we didn’t even feel the need to try other pizzas. For us, Margherita in Italy is simply the best. We also tried sfogliatelle, tiramisu, frutti di mare, salads and pasta, and everything was absolutely delicious. We also rented Lime bikes and cycled along the coast to the beach, which was a lovely experience. The beach was public and very busy, especially in August, and the sea there wasn’t the cleanest. But we also took several boat trips to Ischia and Capri and went by train to Sorrento, so we had plenty of opportunities to enjoy beautiful, crystal-clear water. August was definitely very busy, with lots of tourists, but because we usually got up quite early, it didn’t really bother us too much. Overall, Naples was a wonderful experience for us. We loved the city, the food, the atmosphere and the fact that there was always something to discover. Despite its imperfections, Naples has a very special character, and we would definitely come back again!

Sorrento has been the highlight of my trip.

Sorrento has been the highlight of my trip. We arrived by train after visiting Pompeii. Make sure to wait in line for a taxi or ask your hotel If they have a shuttle. Whatever you do do not use uber. Every night in Sorrento was filled with life.A Safe and wonderful place. A short ferry ride close to everywhere you could w ever want to go for day trips. I wish I had stayed here atleast 5 nights not 3 and had some Extra time to visit the Amalfi coast. We did Capri it was wonderful. We just took A ferry over and then a boat ride to the blue Grotto, it was the highlight of my trip. Then we took the Funicular up and found this wonderful place called Capri Rooftop and grabbed a bite to eat for lunch. We really didn’t need to do the tour. Back in Sorrento We fell upon the best restaurant called L’Antica Trattoria randomly walked in around 9:30 pm and we were hot from walking around shopping. I asked for the coldest table and they brought us to the back of the restaurant where it was cooler. I ordered the lamb dish it was probably the best meat I have ever had. Our Server was Liberato I believe his name was. He was outstanding. Just truly a wonderful experience.

I have been here many times and it's a good alternative to staying in Sorrento - ie you are visiting the Amalfi coast. Salerno offers you a good spot from where you can visit Amalfi, Caserta, il Vesuvio, Pestum and many other spots in the area. I highly reccomend Vetri as the beach to visit for an afternoon and then have dinner-- it's close and easy. Salerno is the other side of Amalfi if you are considering Napoli as the place to stay to visit Amalfi- I have stayed in Sorrento as well. Keep in mind getting in and out of the Amalfi coast requires driving very windy roads. Other fact to consider that Napoli is only 1'10" by fast train from Rome- Salerno is a little farther.

Pompeii itself needs two days, especially if you want to see (and trust me, you do) the Villa of the Mysteries & the Villa of Diomedes. Use the city of Pompei as a base for 4/5 days, and visit the National Museum in Naples by using the metro. Herculaneum (Ercolano) is worth a day as well. It is a good base to visit the Amalfi Coast and Capri as well. Really, a five-day stay is short.

Ischia as an island is a wonderful destination that offers the perfect blend of authentic Italian charm, history, beautiful beaches and excellent restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with stunning sea views, picturesque streets and the magnificent Aragonese Castle just a short walk away. It is lovely but ridiculously expensive. In particular the taxis are 60 euros for 10 mins and a return trip to Ravello cost 360 euros which was more than the air fare to the very grotty Naples airport.

Absolutely beautiful place with stunning views. It's a pity what instagram did – it's very crowded and overpriced. Definitely luxurious. Most places are available by quite expensive taxi, even though, be prepared for large amount of hiking uphil if you want to see places other that city area. We wished we stayed longer, however it's also perfect and way cheaper to travel there for a day trip by ferry from Sorrento – only 30mins one way.

Last time we visited here in 2008, the beach was not open for recreation or swimming. It is now. It has volleyball courts, basketball hoops. Dog park and beach chairs and umbrellas were available. I think the beach area could be cleaner or raked more frequently. But all in all good experience.
