The property was in THE BEST location possible. A five minute walk to the ski lift, a grocery store around the corner, and after a long day on the slopes, it was perfect to not have to walk far at all to get home. The staff were incredible and very friendly, understanding and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful, I would do anything to have one more of their hot chocolates! The room was extremely clean, beds were comfy and we had the best views. If your skiing in Serre Chevalier or Briancon, you should stay here.

Brand new hotel with lovely spa facilities. Nice food in the restaurant and breakfast was good too. Close to ski lifts , although we drove to a different station where our friends were. Rooms were big and comfortable, we had a suite and there’s a sliding door between the living room and bedroom, tv’s in both and a good bathroom.

Amazing views of the valley and the mountains. The hotel is built with the classic alpine architecture, wooden balconies and flower pots everywhere. Breakfast was excellent with salty and sweet options. Also, the hotel has its own restaurant that although has a single menu, it is extremely well priced and given that the options are limited in the area is a great choice for dinner it you don't want to drive around or try to book a reservation some place else at the last minute. Service was 10/10: everyone we interacted with was extremely accommodating. The pool is bigger than what we expected, complete with separate changing rooms and the 80s style tiling and decoration was a plus.

I had an amazing stay! The location was perfect — close to everything and easy to get around. The facilities were excellent, clean, and well-maintained, and there were plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the day. The night shows were a real highlight — fun, lively, and very well organized. A special mention goes to the manager, who was present at all times, interacting warmly with guests and making sure everyone was having a great experience. That personal touch made the stay feel even more special. Overall, a super awesome experience — I’d definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back!

The hotel staff was so sweet and willing to make sure that we were comfortable and having a good time. We had interesting conversations with the receptionists and the food servers, where the lady serving food also suggested us to watch the passing of the Olympic Torch in the town square. The breakfast food, variety and quality was very good (except for the hard boiled eggs), especially considering that it was a continental breakfast. The hotel was located in a very good spot, being very close to the beginner ski tracks where we had our training courses, yet not far from the town centre.

Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I came here for just one night with my family, but the beauty of this place left a lasting impression. It was a spontaneous stop to rest after a long drive — and what a great choice it turned out to be. There’s also a lovely restaurant and bar inside for a cozy and delicious evening.

Upon arrival, we received an unprepared cabin, but this situation was resolved very quickly by the friendly staff. At first it was a bit chilly, but later the cabin warmed up perfectly and we could really enjoy the peace and the wonderful views from the windows.

The dinner was good, so I think there's a decent chef in the restaurant, but breakfast is just done by the owner. The owner has a good sense of humour, which perhaps he needs. I can't think of anything else positive - the location is just so incredibly noisy.

Fantastic small cosy town with history.

Fantastic small cosy town with history. A great small catholic church, small fountains, classic restaurants and a market square with after ski. Add to it the feeling of a small italian village and not built for the tourists. Maybe the grocey shops could provide more possibilities but it wa quite ok. There is an open market where local groceries can be bought and there are also a wine-shop local, where plenty of Piemonte wines can be acquired. For a skitrip to Vialattea, I would argue that Sauze d'Oulx with its colloquial perspective provides more than the other skiresorts, shich are more touristic.

The lift system leaves much to be desired and the limited maps were unimpressive. The facilities on the mountain were not great - limited food (& not great options). I usually ski in Austria and this trip did nothing to convince me to try Itally again.

If you're looking for accommodation close to the railway line at Oulx - Residence du Commerce is for you. We just wheeled our bags across the road - easy! We walked around Oulx the afternoon we got there - looking at its sights. And as we didn't have a booking at any of the restaurants in Oulx, we shopped at the supermarket and rustled up dinner in one of the apartments we had - with great success! It was a comfortable overnight stay on our way to the ski fields.

Its a very quiet village but has all the amenities required for a few days away. I'd book places to east before travelling there as getting seated without reservations proved a bit difficult. Luckily we were able to get seated at the Pig 2 nigts which did gorgeous food. Highly recommended!

Cute, small mountain village, that is probably buzzing in the winter, and was extremely cozy in the summer. People are still present, go on hikes, chill in the nature. You have clear water from little fountains on the street. Lovely. Would've easily stayed 2-3 more days (but travelled elsewhere in a 80km circle during, so if you plan on staying just in Claviere, 4-5 days should be enough for relaxing+hiking). Public transport is not really great, sadly the best option might be to rent a car in Oulx or Briancon if you're coming from that way (or Torino of course).

As a Ski destination I would not recommend this resort.

As a Ski destination I would not recommend this resort. The lifts are antiquated and there appears to be no investment to improve the ski experience. There are only chair lifts from the resort and consequently the queues can be long, particularly on the central Sportina lift. You need to take 2 chair lifts to reach an area that allows fanning out onto multiple pistes. The queue for the 2nd Sportina chair lift is quite ridiculous, particularly at weekends. Forget ski in/ski out as it is not an option.

Experienced skiers. Just a few tips about the resort !

Experienced skiers. Just a few tips about the resort ! One Main Street. Main lifts and ticket office located top left of the street as you look up ! Small supermarket and cafes, shops etc located in this area. At the top of the street is a small round about. There are further shops etc located on the road that rises to the right ! An excellent pizza fast food take away located on the right hand side. Open late. Good to know as many places close early. If you get mist don’t be put off ! It comes and goes depending on altitude across the ski area ! Food on the mountains can be hit and miss. It’s not France. School type dinner scenarios in restaurants on the slopes ….. If in doubt go in first and have a look ! Lots of frozen chips and questionable mains. Beer tends to be large pints about 8 Euro. House wine good value. The igloo bar and eatery located main slope area Sestriere. Good for lunch and most skiers drink here after skiing and boarding. Food is good. Italian pasta, burgers etc. Guaranteed decent ski food. Explore the ski area. It’s worth doing. The ski pass does not include Montegenevre. Although the area is on the ski map you need a separate day pass ( France ). Easy access but obtain an additional pass from the ticket office. In short. Decent ski area. Had plenty of snow. People friendly. Runs nice and quiet out of the main area. Another area ticked off the list ! Would I return ? Maybe. Offers everything for all levels. Would be ideal for beginners and those alike.

No waiting lines, even in a high-season week.

No waiting lines, even in a high-season week. Great (often homemade) local Italian food on the slopes at affordable rates. It seems far from the Netherlands, however we experienced no traffic jams and the resort is accessible, (no high passes) while being at 1760m altitude. Lifts are generally slow though, but you have easy access to Montgenevere with generally more modern lifts (but this being a more well-known place there are some short waiting lines in high season)

I chose TH Sestriere – Olympic Village for a special week in the snow with my daughter and my son, making her big dream of a holiday on the Olympic slopes come true. It was a truly magical week. The location is perfect—ski-in/ski-out with breathtaking views—plus a modern gym, indoor pool, and spa that make the resort ideal all year round, with or without snow. We stayed in a spacious suite with two double beds and two bathrooms, impeccably maintained and extremely comfortable. For my daughter’s birthday, they surprised us with a beautiful cake and sparkling wine: such a thoughtful gest. Excellent service, varied and abundant cuisine, spacious and welcoming common areas. Outstanding value for money. We will definitely return—heartfelt thanks to the entire staff, and especially to the manager!
