The house and the views on tea plantation are wonderful, the furniture and the decor are incredibly authentic! Everything is very clean and the place is comfortable. We appreciated the chance to chill and relax in the living room with a cup of tea kindly offered by the staff. The whole staff (from the manager to the chef) are extremely friendly and kind, they spolied us with free tea, coffee and delicious meals. I would definitely recommend staying there if you are going to visit nuwara Eliya area.

Quite, peaceful atmosphere with waterfalls nearby. We heard this amazing sound of running water all the time. Unique modern design of the hotel in total, including rooms interior and exterior. Also lounge zone and dining rooms are stunning. Everything was clean, Delicious food, excellent breakfast. Stuff was extra kind and helpful. We didn’t book the hotel with breakfast as we planned to explore and try local food nearby. The bed was comfortable, and the water heater worked well. The garden is truly beautiful — a big plus when travelling with kids, as it gives them space to run around instead of staying inside the room all the time. The accommodation itself has a lovely style, and the location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk from Victoria Park, the Old Post Office, and the Grand Hotel, making it very easy to get around the city on foot.

We're a family of six (four kids!) and just spent 2 days at Grand Hotel. If I had to sum up our experience in one word, it would be PERFECTGrand Hotel  is an ideal choice for a vacation at Kandy. It's conveniently close to all the action – bars, restaurants, and surf spots – yet provides a wonderfully quiet and relaxing escape.The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and impeccably clean. The staff were exceptionally professional and always attentive to our requests with a special thanks to Shiron! The meals, from breakfast to dinner, were consistently tasty, and the menu offered a great variety.I highly recommend Grand Hotel that contributing to our perfect family vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so attentive and helpful. We were arriving in later than expected and they had food prepared for us. The breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect as well very close to everything. Couldn’t recommend the accommodation enough - really happy with the accommodation and again the staff were just so great.

Amazing hospitality. The manager Mr Nayan Wikramasinghe, the caretakers Mr Seelan and Elango, were simply amazing. They took care of all our needs and went over and above to make our stay memorable. The view and the setting amidst nature is simply the best. Additionally since it is outside Nuwara Eliya, it is away from all the hustle and bustle.

We only stayed one night as we were passing through Nuwara Eliya, but we would have happily stayed longer. The hotel is lovely, and the buffet evening meal was our favourite throughout our whole trip. It was my wife's birthday whilst we were there, and the hotel staff organised a birthday cake at short notice which was greatly appreciated.

Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful location situated in the upcountry of Sri Lanka. There are many locations to visit, such as Hakgala Flower Garden, Victoria Park, Gregory Lake Round Park, Ancient Post Office ( Constructed in 1894 by the British), Piduruthalagala Mountain, Shanthipura Village(the highest village of Sri Lanka), Moon Plains, Galway's Land National Park etc. Also, you can experience many food varieties from many food cultures. Indian, Sri Lankan, Sri Lankan Tamil foods, and many others. All restaurants can easy reach by your foot from the city center. Last time I visited Moon Plains and Shanthipura. Moon Plains is 3 to 5 kms away from the town.

There is absolutely nothing there to do except climbing the...

There is absolutely nothing there to do except climbing the peak. No shops, just stalls that sells sweets etc. One night stay is enough. Make 100% sure you are fit enough to climb the peak. It is worthwhile, but start climbing before 03h00 to see the sunrise. Spectacular views. And avoid weekends and poja days.

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

Nuwara Eliya is like Ooty in India for Indian travellers to get context. It has a few tea factories, a few places related to Ramayana and a few places where you can just enjoy nature. The 2-days we had in Nuwara Eliya were pretty light compared to other cities as we wanted to enture the weather and expeirence the nature.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.
