Perfect experience as the last night in Sri Lanka. The hotel is located in a large tea garden only with 39 rooms, next to a local village, a quiet place with great tea garden view and full of fresh air. The hotel has designed several hiking path for the guest, worth to try. The staff here is extremely friendly and considerate. They almost thought about everything I needed during my stay. Our room is perfect for our family of 4 with very comfortable beds. Shower has very good water pressure. Staffs are all very friendly. Hotel manager comes around to check if everything is up to expectation every time we find dine at the restaurant. On site restaurant is excellent with generous portion. My kids who haven't quite got used to Sri Lanka cuisines absolutely love the spaghetti bolognese and rate it as the best they've ever had. All other food we had on site were also great. The turndown service with heat pack was a pleasant surprise for us.

This was the best stay of our trip (considering we stayed at Radisson and Sheraton at other locations). Excellent staff - they are proper hoteliers, very courteous, well trained and super polite. Great property, the breakfast spread was heavenly, the gym was also very functional. There's a food court and a convenience store right in the hotel, it cannot get any better ! The lake is 5-10 mins by walk, its very close to the centre. We didnt use it, but it also has a heated pool

Amazing hospitality. The manager Mr Nayan Wikramasinghe, the caretakers Mr Seelan and Elango, were simply amazing. They took care of all our needs and went over and above to make our stay memorable. The view and the setting amidst nature is simply the best. Additionally since it is outside Nuwara Eliya, it is away from all the hustle and bustle.

We had a cool climate as like Europe. We didn’t stay for a long , but we wish that we will come back. The place we could visit the Gregory lake side was amazing. The speed boat ride was thrilled us..and we visited the Haggala flower garden , that was amazing too.. we can buy much things from the city with reasonable price..

Hatton is ideal place to stay if you want cover areas like Maskeliya, Laxapana and Adams peak where you can see beautiful waterfalls. The scenery is amazing and it not far from even driving to Nuwara eliya.

There is absolutely nothing there to do except climbing the peak. No shops, just stalls that sells sweets etc. One night stay is enough. Make 100% sure you are fit enough to climb the peak. It is worthwhile, but start climbing before 03h00 to see the sunrise. Spectacular views. And avoid weekends and poja days.

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

Rustic, steeped in history, friendly, fascinating. We stayed one night which was perfect. This is a working village, agriculture, farming and TEA. The tour of the tea plantation, small boutique factory for processing an subsequent tasting is not to be missed. Forget the large FACTORY Tea tours... This is personal and ORGANIC... with great Tea. Meena is the smiliest busiest person we have met. We arrived at Ambewela Train station. Could be good to ask for transport in advance... WE still managed to grab a Tuk Tuk with some help. The road down to Warwick Gardens is steep!

The manmade lake is very tacky and wasn't worth a visit (you had to pay to get in) and the so called "little Britain" is only a very small part. The luscious scenery of the tea plantations on the drive in was the best part. Our family played golf as otherwise there was not a lot else to do.

A nice area to do a lot of treks amongst the tea plantations...

A nice area to do a lot of treks amongst the tea plantations . central location if you need to drive up to hill station of Nuwera Eliya or experience the wild life at Horton Plains, A lot of Hindu Kovils to explore in town of Hatton and Tea Factory experience at Dunkeld Tea Factory.
