We had a warm welcome with tea/coffee offered upon arrival. During the stay the host was very approachable for any questions we had. It’s conveniently located and walking distance to the entrance of Adams Peak. Nice breakfast is served, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Amazing resort that is really entwined with nature. Not sure how it isn't more well known considering the value for money you get and the social mission the owner is on to improve livelihoods for local people in nearby villages. Whoever designed this place really has an eye for detail to allow you to experience luxury while still being immersed in the natural forest. We stayed in the balcony room and still have this amazing memory of sitting on the balcony (which is also equipped with a lovely ceiling fan, table and traditional chairs) during a rain storm and seeing the mist roll through the valley while listening to the sounds of the forest awoken by the rain. It was magical. The rooms are very clean and well maintained and I didn't see any critters which was hard to believe considering how close to the forest you are. There is a private track leading to a peaceful swimming hole in the nearby river which we had all to ourselves. Just me mindful of leeches if it's been raining. In regards to the food, we ordered a traditional rice and curry that wasn't actually on the menu but it was delicious. If you're Lankan or love spice, maybe just ask for local-level hot otherwise they will serve it mild. The service overall is very kind and attentive, proud to see this in Sri Lanka. Next time we will stay in the private villas as they look stunning with their private pools along with mini rivers running adjacent to the room. The magnificent Arberdeen waterfall is also a short tuk tuk drive away. I was a little worried in one review saying the place smelled overwhelming of Naphthalene but I didn't smell anything so maybe they changed something.

The people hosting the guest house were definitely my highlight. Roshan, his wife and daughter were so friendly and helpful and always had a smile on their face! Roshan even dropped me at the railway station on the last day, which was super nice! The breakfast was very delicious and enough. The beds were super comfortable and the room very spacious. There is a shortcut to get into the city that‘s why the location of the guest house is also fine. Would definitely come back next time!

Every aspect of this boutique, modern eco lodge was AMAZING! We stayed for a couple of days after Christmas and loved the festive feel, fire pits, and beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The buildings blend in with the landscape and interiors are stunning - recommend staying in Chalet Neru. The food was delicious and higher end and the fruit / veg grown onsite. Our kids loved the farm tour and homemade ice cream and jams. All staff were super friendly, professional and seemed genuinely happy to work there. Kitchen was accommodating with my allergy restrictions. I’d been concerned about insects before we arrived however only spotted a couple of stick insects outdoors during our trip. Everyone in our family wished we could have stayed at the property for at least one more night.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so attentive and helpful. We were arriving in later than expected and they had food prepared for us. The breakfast was delicious. The location was perfect as well very close to everything. Couldn’t recommend the accommodation enough - really happy with the accommodation and again the staff were just so great.

All in all a great place with amazing rooms and a crew that is as good as it gets. To be honest I have no idea how they average a 8.5, when it should be atleast a 9.5. Hadique, Fahaz and Hassan are great at their job and give you a great experience there. We booked it again after our first stay and highly recommend this place!

The town is an old colonial establishment with the first post office in Sri Lanka as well as the oldest golf course - lots of historical homes and buildings and a lively market for those who want to shop. The lovely thing about this place is that you can live in a historical home. It connects the pas to the present in a wonderful way

There is absolutely nothing there to do except climbing the...

There is absolutely nothing there to do except climbing the peak. No shops, just stalls that sells sweets etc. One night stay is enough. Make 100% sure you are fit enough to climb the peak. It is worthwhile, but start climbing before 03h00 to see the sunrise. Spectacular views. And avoid weekends and poja days.

It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

Rustic, steeped in history, friendly, fascinating. We stayed one night which was perfect. This is a working village, agriculture, farming and TEA. The tour of the tea plantation, small boutique factory for processing an subsequent tasting is not to be missed. Forget the large FACTORY Tea tours... This is personal and ORGANIC... with great Tea. Meena is the smiliest busiest person we have met. We arrived at Ambewela Train station. Could be good to ask for transport in advance... WE still managed to grab a Tuk Tuk with some help. The road down to Warwick Gardens is steep!

Scenic tea plantations aplenty.

Scenic tea plantations aplenty. We visited Labookellie Tea Factory to understand tea production a bit more. Also visit a small strawberry farm which do not offer plucking so bigger outfit would be a better experience. NE was our rest stop for Horton Plains but Ohiya is a shorter ride there. Plus the road up from Ohiya side is a lot less bumpy and U zip through giant pine forests, a more beautiful experience from going via Pattipola entrance.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
