We were just traveling through coming from Cape Kolka going to Riga. There is really not that much on the way so Roja seemed a good choice. The hotel provides for everything, good accommodation for a night. There is also a small supermarket right across the street. And the owner was very friendly.

What a lovely place to stay in Jūrmala. Just a few minutes’ walk and you’re right on the beach — couldn’t ask for more. The street is peaceful and quiet, ideal for a proper switch-off. Our apartment was spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with a big comfy bed, a separate sitting area and a sweet little balcony where we spent our evenings with a cup of tea. There’s air-con if you need it, but we preferred to enjoy the fresh breeze — the area is calm and full of sea air. The hosts were absolutely wonderful — kind, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Everything was clean, neat and had that feeling of care. At the moment, breakfast isn’t offered — but to be fair, it’s clearly mentioned in the listing. And honestly, it didn’t bother us at all. A glass of water in the morning and a gentle walk to one of the nearby cafés or restaurants felt just right. Especially considering the excellent value for money, we really weren’t disappointed in the slightest. We’re already looking forward to coming back — this place is a little gem.

Great location, few minutes walk from the beach, there is also a park nearby with different activities for the kids. The apartment was nice and clean, and price was good. Staff is friendly, quick check-in and clear instructions were given prior our arrival. There is a cafe in the hotel, food is average with not much choice but ok for the money you pay. If anyone looking for a cheap place to stay, this is 100% recommended.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay in Jurmala! Located in less than 1 minute walking from Jomas Iela, 2 minutes walking from the beach. The guesthouse is very lovely, the room was clean and bright, the bed was comfortable. There's also a bike rental at the place. Highly recommend!

    We visited off season so it was nice and quiet with only a few guests in our hotel and Cape Kolka, nature trails, etc were not busy Since it is off season, it was difficult to get dinner as most restaurants and pubs were closed. Some only open on Thursday through Sunday. Better coordination among eateries would better serve tourists and maybe increase income.

    Have been there probably 5 times, different properties and not always staying the night, sometimes just for a walk, sometimes for lunch, sometimes for the beach or for forest walk. Lilaste is for those who appreciate nature and don't want the pretentious wannabe posh style of Jurmala, but instead just to relax and feel nature and tranquility around you. And it's definitely cleaner than Jurmala.

    Favorite spot to visit - Engure lake nature park, where you can see wild cows and horses. Very nice beaches in the city with children playground, changing cabins. City center beach has 2 bars. Engure city very quiet, has several cafe/restaurant to choose from, very nice bakery for breakfast or just to grab something with you. Very nice park with statues and playground for kids.

    It is a cute and charming North Vidzeme seaside town just on...

    It is a cute and charming North Vidzeme seaside town just on the very border with Estonia. A lot of pine trees, fresh air, sea, historical houses and very few people. Stroll around the town and you will see that almost each stone, house and corner have something to say about the amazing history of Ainazi being the center for the sailor education in the past. The nature there is amazing - a lot of trails to explore. It is easy to reach Ainazi by public transport from Riga and other Vidzeme's towns. There is a fast-food place and some restaurants / cafes, and several shops.

    To be honest I traveled from Riga to Sloka train station and it took about 50 minutes and cost €2.50. I was staying so near the beach I didn’t go into the town at all just walked on the beautiful beach every day!

    Nice clean city.

    Nice clean city. Not too much activites to do, but you can walk in forest or on the beach. A bit hitted by Covid, but still have some places to catch food. You can rent a boat to sail local river, or get a yaht to make a day or 2 day travel.

    A quiet place, close to the Estonian boarder and sea.

    A quiet place, close to the Estonian boarder and sea. Out of season you can be the only persons walking along the beach. Good for walking and right on the long distance Baltic Way walking route. Plenty of green spaces to explore. There are two museums to visit the Navel museum and the Fire Brigade museum.
