Everything was absolutely amazing! We were pleasantly surprised because, after reading some reviews, we expected things to be much worse. In reality, this place exceeded all our expectations. The resort is superb! The food is incredibly delicious and perfectly clean—you can see they are constantly cleaning and washing everything. The grounds are beautiful and very spacious. Regarding the A La Carte restaurants: many people write that it's hard to get a table, but that’s not true at all. It is very easy to book a reservation online through the app without standing in lines. The check-in process was smooth and fast. We requested a room in Building 1 with a frontal sea view and a specific floor before our arrival, and the staff gave us exactly what we asked for. While the hotel itself has a bit of a vintage feel and is slightly "tired" in terms of age, everything inside the rooms is in great condition. Most importantly, the mattresses are absolutely new and very comfortable! Separately, I would like to mention the excellent value for money — the service is absolutely great for this price point.

The highlight of our trip was the meal we had at the small restaurant in the upper room. (Enzol ??) We had a private dinner to celebrate 53 years of marriage and Victor made it the most amazing experience .Due to lower capacity at the resort we had the whole place to ourselves. We were treated like royalty. Having a Fiesta Club wristband allowed us to go to the pool on the upper deck. We enjoyed that every day. Nacho was very attentive and made us feel special. The bartender at the swim up bar was great too. All of the resort employees were fantastic.

The service staff in the restaurant were very kind, worked very hard - Ernesto and Joel were constantly coming by our table to provide service, even the early morning after working a very late new years party. The private pools at our enormous room was really a cool feature. There were a significant number of Mexican families also on vacation so it didn't feel like a hotel of American tourists. The pools had almost nobody in them the whole stay which made it very quiet and relaxing

Perfect weather, loved Bucerías and markets. The pool was fabulous! The apartment was poorly equipped and we lost much time waiting for repairs, wrong internet code until last couple days. Will not return to this location. Fridge, door lock, air conditioner, internet all broken, waited for repairs. No English communication, but met many lovely people. Highly recommend Rhythms of the Night show.

Fish market in La Cruz is excellent, artisanal market on Sundays is great. We took a taxi to Bucerias for a big grocery shop, not much choice in La Cruz. We prepared our own evening meals so we don’t know about the restaurants. And we’re too old to party so I have no comment on that scene.

Excellent weather and lots of free entertainment. Several regional dance numbers every Friday evening at the "tile" park with amazing costumes. Many great restaurants with large variety of food types. Local and regional bus service good and very cheap. Just 10 pesos in city and to Mismaloya or Boca de Tomatlan, and 60 pesos to Sayulita. Always felt quite safe in the tourist areas. We avoided street food and ate in mid priced restaurants. Ate out every night and prepared our own breakfasts about half the time. Price averaged 650 pesos per day for two people usually with a drink, excluding at home breakfasts.

On Tuesdays, Nuevo Vallarta has a wonderful farmers' market, located in the marina area. The entire length of Paseo de los Cocoteros (Zona Hotelera) is immaculately maintained, with both sidewalks and bicycle paths.

Bucerias has a very different vibe from its close neighbor, Puerto Vallarta. It is quieter, slower paced, casual, family and pet friendly. It does not get the daily cruise ship traffic. It is very much a community, with local people and tourists that have been coming for years. Make sure you eat at the street taco stands. The seafood is superb, clean and fresh. Walking down the streets, everyone has a quick smile, a wave and a hello. There is nothing to fear, walking alone, day or evening on the well lit residential streets. The town closes pretty early in most spots. Dinner is over by 9PM. You can not go wrong with any restaurant in town but Sandrina's garden is very special and the food and service are excellent.

They have a few really good eating establishments and an amazing Sunday market at the Marina! Sadly the roads within La Cruz are terrible, the beach line is very dirty lots of stay dogs and cats sadly. Taxis charge way too much so make sure you ask prices before you get in.

I have been going to PV for over ten years and have enjoyed every trip 👍 This year 2026 there was an minor disruption that caused tension for the city and the people of Puerto Vallarta but it will not deter me from returning as the local people are welcoming and friendly. Through the whole ordeal i was a little nervous but not worried for my safety. I will be returning next year as i consider it a safe and relaxing vacation spot 🏖 😎 👍

Great and quieter than the downtown, but be prepared to sit...

Great and quieter than the downtown, but be prepared to sit in some traffic to get into PV. Also, many of the hotels in the area are all inclusive so it limits the number of restaurants that you can walk to. The media of the main street has a nice walking / biking path.
