United KingdomBooked this property as a base for doing some hiking and sightseeing in the Perlis region. The location was what we needed but other than a couple restaurants, there is not much to do in the immediate area. The hotel itself exceeded my expectations. The room was huge and immaculately clean with all the basic amenities. The coffee in the cafe downstairs might be the best I've had in 2 weeks in Malaysia.

A room with old furniture but very very very clean. Along the corridor, you can smell fresh odur. Very clean coridor. Escape route was labeled clearly. A lot of parking space. The receptionist and house keeping staff are very friendly. The toilet was clean. Beside hotel, there is a mamak shop 24 hours🫰🏻🫰🏻🫰🏻

Plenty of parking space. The host was really nice and friendly. The room is spacious and cozy. The interior decor was beautiful. There is even a cafe on the second floor. Did not expect such a good service for such a low price.

A very calm, pleasant town with delicious and marvellous food at affordable price rate.
Our favourite place to eat are Restoran Suri, Anjung Keli, Hameed Nasi Kandar, D Adna Laksa and Tok Mek Restaurant.
Kangar is surrounded by beautiful scenery and green hilly areas. ( Bukit Chabang, Bukit Chuping, Bukit Jernih and Timah Tasoh Dam ).
In its vicinity you will see the famous fragrant Harumanis Mangoes farms.
Kangar's folks are very friendly ✨️.
If you love shopping, you can have it at Padang Besar. Located about 30km further north of Kangar.

Perlis is so underrated, it is clean and roads are well...
Perlis is so underrated, it is clean and roads are well maintained, way too nice compared to other West Malaysian state. I would love to come back again to Perlis. Bought Harum Manis mangoes, but I felt it is just an overrated Mango for the price. But views in Perlis would bring me back here again.

If you are in Perlis for a holiday, make sure to allocate some time to enjoy yourself at the house. Ideas - pick up a readily available book and read by the pool, make a cup of coffee in the wee hours of the morning and watch the day brightens, have a BBQ...the options are endless.

My family and I recently stayed at Villa President Homestay...
My family and I recently stayed at Villa President Homestay in Kangar, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The homestay was immaculately clean and spacious, and the location was perfect for exploring the city, being close to both Kuala Perlis and Arau. The host, Pn Zeti, was incredibly helpful and responsive, making us feel right at home. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Perlis!

Kangar is a capital city of Perlis; 1 of state in Malaysia. Like any other capital, the town is experiencing development and progress at its own pace.
There’s lots of modern facilities available in Kangar. Other than the town, Perlis is also known for its exceptional food at an affordable price.
Should any of you want to visit Malaysia, please don’t forget to visit Perlis, the smallest state in the country situated in the north of the peninsula.

The cleanest state in Malaysia thus far. Every house and every commercial entity has a green bin. Hardly see litter strewn about. A very green state with lots of nature to go to. Enjoy the long drives into hills. But do check ahead when visiting places of interests as they may be closed. We had the thrill of just driving up to the Thai borders. The Wang Kelian View Point is a MUST - by far the best view. Good choice of food at the jetty for ferry to Langkawi. If you're in Langkawi, the ferry ride is just a few minutes.

Frankly speaking, Arau is one of my hometown.
Frankly speaking, Arau is one of my hometown. Where I grew up here. A lot things have changing and better from previous time. The facilities is much better. The traffic is smooth. By the time 9.00 PM is already quite and peaceful.
The infrastructure is upgraded, you can travel to few areas such as Kangar, Kuala Perlis, Pauh, Jejawi, Padang Besar, Beseri, Santan and a lots more even to Kedah which is another state. The food is delicious and quite cheap compared to other states. What else should I say, come to Perlis lah ... enjoyed it by yourself.

It's a dead city.
It's a dead city. Not much places of attraction, if there were places, that places not being maintained at all. Smally city with nothing. Except a lot of eating places. Capati everywhere. What about everywhere capati in Kangar? Bitong is overrated. I feel sorry for the city. Maybe the reason why people like border Thai more than this city. So pity.

Arau, Perlis is a quiet and laid-back town, ideal for a short escape. While we didn’t interact much with the locals, we appreciated the peaceful surroundings and the variety of local food options available from traditional Malay dishes to simple street snacks. The weather can get extremely hot, especially during the day, so be prepared with sun protection and plenty of water.
