A lovely village in the middle of beautiful Drenthe, right close to Assen and Groningen. Country life within 15 minutes of big city entertainment.
It is located in first, very peaceful, big ground for children and dog. Not far from giethorn, not far from drenthe Friese World. Room is clean and comfortable, although it is small.
A village in the middle of Drenthe, just imagine the post card of the Netherlands - channels with small individual but modern ships where the Dutch put their bikes to go riding in the fields, wind mills in action. Pretty and cosy houses. Hunebedden - Dutch Stonehenge style megaliths are to be seen. The region is very crowded with horses, besides the traditional cows and ships. The open air Shakespeare theatre is also located in the forest close to Diever.
Easy to reach by train, excellent location of the hotel, ideal to cycle in Drenthe and to our family and friends, great museum, a variety of good restaurants and bars.
Small town in the province of Drenthe. In the summer and holiday season it's many peoples favorite. There are a number of B&B's and the best place to be is Landhotel Diever on the edge of the Drents-Friese forest. Good food and wine in a cosy restaurant (where the owner plays the piano while you dine), fine beds, super staff and wonderful surroundings. Parking and wifi free. There's an open air theatre where a Shakespeare play is put on each year (for the past 47 years!). Good cycle and walking/hiking area.
A lovely town with all the basics for a comfortable stay and a great base for exploring Drenthe and the northern parts of the Netherlands.
Leuke oude vestingstad als toegang tot Drenthe. Mooie Veght dal omgeving om in te wandelen. De stad zelf heeft mooie oude gebouwen en een leuk centrum.
Nice small original village in Drenthe, very compact, everything within max. 10 minute walking distance. Beautiful tiny old synagoge
Exloo is a fine centre for exploring the Drenthe region. It is close to several places of great interest. Children will wish to visit Kabouterland (Gnome Land) located in Exloo.
A small village in the Drenthe countryside. A good base if you want to do cycling or walking tours. Several nice restaurants and a great store if you like Floris van Bommel shoes.

Staff was always friendly and helpful in many matters relating to English speaking tourists in the Netherlands. Jackie and Anita were especially charming. Room was quiet and comfortable - slept very well each night. Hotel very convenient to stores, restaurants in Assen Centrum as well as the Drenthe Museum (which was well worth a visit). Lekker ice cream parlor around the corner too. We visit family in Assen every couple of years. The BW De Jonge will be our home-away-from-home again.

Typical Drenthe style beds...platform closet like spaces with closed doors...great for kids. Also, Mini golf, boules court & games. Quiet setting. Parking decent. Easy to find & easy to venture to other places of interest in the area. Town of Dwingeloo within a short bike ride away. Plenty of restaurants in town center.

Gorgeous little cottage in a beautiful location in Exloo. My fiancé and I stayed here for three nights and couldn't be happier. Our host welcomed us on arrival and gave us lots of friendly advice on what to see and do in the area. Will definitely stay again if we come back to Drenthe.

An excellent hotel that was very comfortable, served good food and had friendly English speaking staff who made us feel very much at home. Situated right out in the Drenthe countryside but was still very busy. All good enough for us to say that we'd stay there again.

Everything was great. The host, the breakfast, the room and Borger is very centrally located in the beautiful provence Drenthe. We went to the 'hunebedden centre' in Borger, Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen and other nice places.

Everything! It was home from home. Friendly welcome, excellent restaurant, fine wines, fine bed, beautiful surroundings. The owner? She played the piano - light classical music - during dinner, all the evenings.

Nice big room with a decent-sized bed and a fridge. A bath as well as a shower. There was indoor bicycle storage and we loved all the solid timber furnishings. Plenty of space indoors and out.
