DenmarkWe had a corporate stay at this hotel, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The location is beautiful and easy to find, with free parking on the premises. They offered a welcome drink and carried our luggage to our room. The facilities are incredible; the gym is small but decent, and the sauna is fantastic (though you need to book it in advance). The breakfast is à la carte, a bit expensive but really delicious with a very nice selection. The room was very clean with a comfortable king size bed. The staff is really friendly and super accommodating. Highly recommend.

The room was comfy and cozy while feeling luxurious and spacious. The shower was good! The room had an internal thermostat so we could turn the radiator on. The bed was very comfy and I had a 9hr sleep! The decor and effort put into every detail was really well felt. Breakfast and dinner were also fabulous - and generous!

Esther!! Absolutely lovely lady who was so welcoming. She has clearly travelled herself so knows how to help people and make them feel welcoming without being in your face. Gave us advice as to when to do the boats and where to have dinner and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful walk into town along the canals.

The location was spectacular - on the edge of the village looking over the canal from our terrace room. Our host was incredibly helpful, funny and informative. Highly recommend this hotel for the Giethoorn experience.

Giethoorn is a lovely village to visit.
Giethoorn is a lovely village to visit. We would definitely come back to visit again. We spent only one day there but next time we would stay at least a few days to relax and enjoy this beautiful village. We really enjoyed the boat tour through the canals. Add it to your bucket list if you haven't already!

Zwolle feels like the real Netherlands, everybody on bicycles, lovely choice of shops, restaurants, bars and history. We needed longer really and we will be going back as it was a lot nicer than expected. Definitely worth a visit for anyone.
Everything is very close and your surrounded by water so you can even take boat rides all the way around the city.
There is a church which has been converted to an amazing library which is really worth visiting and another church which is still a church but it has a cafe inside of it and other points of interest.
There is loads of shops that branch off in like leg form from the centre in many directions which is different but also nice as its easy to always get your bearings to where you are again. Zwolle feels like the real Netherlands, everybody on bicycles, lovely choice of shops, restaurants, bars and history. We needed longer really and we will be going back as it was a lot nicer than expected. Definitely worth a visit for anyone.

Deventer to me, is the Prague of the Netherlands.
Deventer to me, is the Prague of the Netherlands. It is jaw dropping beautiful. It is spacious and cleaner than many cities. People are friendly. There are hidden gem restaurants off the square as well as beautiful little shops. I wish to spend more time in Deventer.

I am extremely disappointed with the way we were treated by...
I am extremely disappointed with the way we were treated by the night manager during our stay last night.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time we have experienced this problem with the same person. We already complained about his behaviour last year, but apparently nothing has changed.
We were travelling as a group of seven families, and several of us were shocked by the way he spoke to us. His attitude was rude, disrespectful and completely inappropriate for someone working in hospitality.
One example was when we entered the hotel late at night through a door that was open. Instead of simply dealing with the situation professionally, he repeatedly questioned us: “How did you get in? How did you get in?” and then proceeded to lecture us. If a hotel entrance that should be locked is left open, that is a matter for the hotel to investigate internally. Guests should not be spoken to as though they have done something wrong simply because they entered through an open door.
What makes this especially disappointing is that we are not occasional guests. We travel regularly from Germany to the Netherlands and stay in this area around twice a month. Our wider group represents approximately ten families who regularly need accommodation.
We have given this hotel another chance after our previous complaint, but experiencing the same behaviour again makes us seriously question whether our feedback is being taken seriously.
If this situation continues and no action is taken, unfortunately we will have to choose another hotel for our future visits. This would mean losing not just one guest, but potentially around ten families who regularly stay in the area.
I strongly ask the hotel management to take this complaint seriously, investigate the conduct of the night manager, and ensure that guests are treated with basic courtesy and professionalism in the future.
We would appreciate a response from management explaining how this matter will be addressed.

Unfortunately, we had too little time to walk around the city during the day. We were there only in the evening and we really liked the atmosphere, very cozy, beautiful houses, shops, and art gallery. And we found a very nice restaurant for dinner. We will definitely come back.

This place is very special. It is a complete contrast to the typical place. It is historic and luxurious with a strong connection to its origin as a water tower. If you like somewhere memorable and special this is the place for you.

We stayed in Kampen whilst visiting Wildeberg festival in Kraggenburg, the town itself is very lovely, and the train station is easily accessible to get to Zwolle which is a town we visited for the day! If you have bike/car Kampen is easy to get around, also the buses are very regular and good for jumping on and off :)

Giethoorn is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have ever visited. The charming canals, picturesque thatched cottages, and tranquil atmosphere make it feel like stepping into a storybook. Every corner is postcard-perfect, and no photograph truly captures its beauty. It is a destination we will always remember and hope to return to one day.

Lots of old buildings, art nouveau and older.
Lots of old buildings, art nouveau and older. Several independent shops instead of chains. Especially the book shop in the church is a good one to visit.
Plenty of restaurants to pick from. We enjoyed Jaffa Jaffa a lot with different streetfood bites and dishes.
Also check out the small theatre where they host a variety of shows.

Deventer is one of those places where there is a surprise...
Deventer is one of those places where there is a surprise around every corner. Visually stunning, with a breathtakingly restored old quarter with loads of small shops and restaurants. Everywhere is close by and walkable. The sheer beauty of the place, the stunningly restored buildings, everything is perfect for a day, or a few hours of exploration. Eventhoujgh I am biased, I'd put it up there with the main tourist centers in the Netherlands. With less tourists, so much more enjoyable.
