Plato de Ciudad is one of the finest and most enchanting hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. This hotel is newly built, featuring beautiful, bright, and impeccably clean rooms, all equipped to the highest of standards. A spacious, comfortable bed with a wonderful mattress and perfectly crisp, spotless linens — a place where sleeping felt unbelievably blissful, and where simply lying down to read, relax, or watch TV was an absolute delight. The Smart TV comes with built-in Netflix and YouTube, letting you enjoy any films or shows you like, as well as all the news programs that interest you. The room is equipped with a superb, modern air conditioner that operates so quietly you’ll never be disturbed by it, no matter the time of day. The bathroom features a wonderful, well-appointed shower with an excellent and stylish installation. But above all, I must mention the hotel’s staff — starting with its owner, a well-educated, gracious, and genuinely kind person, always ready to offer any assistance you may need throughout your stay in Caticlan. The entire hotel staff is exceptionally professional, highly trained, and speaks excellent English, always ready to assist you with absolutely anything at any moment. I would also like to highlight one more important detail. The hotel has a restaurant that serves the most exquisite, delightful, and truly gourmet dishes — a level of cuisine I have never encountered anywhere else in the Philippines. The food is extraordinarily delicious, and, to be honest, I can hardly recall ever dining so wonderfully anywhere else. This hotel is truly a hidden gem near Boracay Island. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay close to the airport while enjoying wonderful and comfortable accommodations. more than a 5 star service from the staff! Love the swimming pools. So relaxing place away from the crowds but also it’s walking distance to nightlife/white beach station 2&3. Rooms are spacious even better than other 5 stars brand hotels. My husband absolutely love our stay that we extended for another 4 nights (we are still here) and planning to go back again.

Breakfast was great, it was comparable to other hotels I have stayed at in Manila. The staff were very helpful with what you needed overall !! The Feliz felt like the Sheraton we stayed at in Waikiki. We were given rooms on the ground floor so no views but it turned out to be a blessing because the rooms were spacious and We didn't have to deal with taking the elevators. Being on the ground floor got you everwhere faster in and out of the hotel specially to the beach and the DMall.

We had an incredible stay at this villa! The pool perfect place to relax and unwind. The villa itself was cozy, stylish, and fully equipped, making it feel like a home away from home. One of the best parts was the location—just a short walk to the sea, as well as nearby restaurants and D’malls. It was so convenient to explore and enjoy local dining and shopping. The host was welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with easy access to everything!

My family and I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to all the hotel staff. We were always greeted with a smile. From the front desk staff who were always patient despite the large volume of guests checking in and out at the same time and making random requests. Thank you to the gentleman who helped us carry our heavy luggages to our rooms, and to our pickup vehicle when we were leaving Bora. The staff from the restaurant, bar, and housekeeping were always courteous and accommodating. We were traveling with three senior citizens and the staff assisted them like family. There is no single thing we did not like about the staff. They were amazing. I also liked that they lend beach towels free-of-charge and the regular live music at the bar. I love their brewed coffee too!

Everything was fantastic! From the seamless airport transfer on their own boat, the staff look after everything for you. All you have to do is walk off the plane and not worry about a thing. It's a smaller place, unlike the massive 'Hennan' properties, but for that you get amazing personalised service. From the crew that looks after you on the beach, constantly filling your iced water and bringing you a towel as you get out of the water, to the front desk staff and cleaning staff - everyone does a fantastic job for guests and makes you feel great. Never any issues getting a seat at breakfast or on the beach. Perfect location to walk everywhere.

Very accommodating, we booked a room perfectly but suddenly there is loud construction beside. Can't sleep and soon as I told the stuff they transfered us to a better room right away. The location of the hotel is great! Just off the beautiful beach. You get to see some amazing sunsets. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. I would also recommend the hotel's airport pick-up service which was completely hassle-free and was quick and efficient via speed-boat. Though we did not use it, saw a lot of kids enjoying themselves at the pool.

The host built the house from ground up and runs the stay, so lots of interesting stories to hear and look around compared to it just being a place to sleep. Attentive staff and loving pets adds extra charm. We tried eating out for breakfast but found the home one better than nearby restaurants.

There is plenty to do and at the time we visited it was busy...

There is plenty to do and at the time we visited it was busy but not overcrowded. Once on the island it is a good experience but getting between Caticlan Airport and the island is a pretty sub standard chore. The airport is not what you would expect of a place touting itself as a premium destination. Arrivals is a tin shed and departures is a separate overcrowded and inefficient building struggling to cope with passenger numbers. To get to the plane park means a bus down the runway in between landings and takeoffs. To get to the island there is no decent ferry despite the more than capable piers each side. Instead you have to take small speedboats with beach landings in the surf and drag luggage up and down the beach. Not ideal perhaps for older travellers that are less agile. Part of the adventure? Maybe.

Kalibo is a cute little town on a mid sized island.

Kalibo is a cute little town on a mid sized island. People are very friendly and helpful. Visit the large Church on Central Square. Try a visit to New Washington and the local memorial for Bishop Sin, who was instrumental in avoiding bloodshed during the 1986 revolution that austed the then ruling Dictator Ferdinand Marcos. That place features an ancient Port and several fish restaurants with great variety of sea food. You can probably hire the local fishermen for a boat ride.

Caticlan is a small community mostly used for by travelers to ferry between the mainland and Boracay. If you so happen to stay longer then there are tours into the hills. At the Port there is a bank, 7/11, pharmacy and many other stores. Also a high volume of security personnel. Very safe place. To get around you can walk like I did or take a trike for virtually no cost. (There is a cost obviously).

The place is very crowded and noisy. If you are looking for more peaceful locations, I would not recommend it. On the other hard, there is a great variety of restaurants, massage salons, activities on the beach. A good place for shopping with hundreds of stalls and shops. It's easy to buy nice ripe fruit like durian. If you're into seafood, I definitely recommend luch at Mandarin and Spa Hotel with seafood buffet option. Not to be missed.

I flew into Kalibo to visit Boracay.

I flew into Kalibo to visit Boracay. That was a huge mistake. It is a long bus ride on terrible roads to get to Caticlan. The bus had no suspension to speak of. One of the bumps was so bad I was thrown into the air and injured my back. If you are visiting Boracay, make sure your plane lands in Caticlan.

Easy to travel island, with a very well organised transport...

Easy to travel island, with a very well organised transport system from the airport to the island itself. Great snorkel and diving opportunities, lots of fish, around the island. A broad range of land and water sports available, make sure you book a boat tour around the island and do some cliff jumping on one of the spots. Broad range of restaurants and cafes in the main area of the island. Quiet beaches with local restaurants and super friendly locals everywhere.

We went for the Fiesta but missed some of the events.

We went for the Fiesta but missed some of the events. The crowd was overwhelming specially at the marketplace. There was no information center to help visitors so we had to ask constantly where to go. A lot of walking....
