We were travelling by car and the choice of hotel depended on the availability of parking. We never regretted choosing Zamka Suceava. A small clean hotel. We, tired, were greeted with a smile and told the details of our stay. The room had water, tea and coffee, a mini-fridge. The shower cabin is small, but overall comfortable. Shower accessories are available. Breakfast with several options and everything was delicious and nutritious! Thank you :)

Having travelled extensively around the world, stayed in some exceptional hotels and resorts, and worked within luxury hospitality myself, I don’t say this lightly - that Rarău Retreat is genuinely one of the finest places I have ever stayed. As a solo Irish traveller living in the UAE, I was searching for somewhere to relax, reset, and prepare mentally and physically before a mountain ultra marathon. I couldn’t have chosen a better place. Every detail has been carefully considered. The accommodation is immaculate, the bedding is incredibly comfortable, the facilities are exceptional, and the hot tubs, sauna, and overall wellness experience create the perfect environment to unwind. Surrounded by the beauty of Bucovina, it truly feels like an escape from the world. The food deserves special recognition. Breakfast was outstanding every morning, and dinner was consistently of an exceptionally high standard. You can genuinely taste the quality and care that goes into every meal. What impressed me most, however, was the people. The hospitality shown by the owners and every member of staff was second to none. Everyone was warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring guests have the best possible experience. Nothing ever felt forced, it was authentic hospitality at its very best. It’s rare to find somewhere that excels in every aspect, but Rarău Retreat genuinely does. It combines luxury, comfort, nature, wellness, and heartfelt hospitality in a way that leaves a lasting impression. I would recommend Rarău Retreat without hesitation to anyone visiting Bucovina. Whether you’re looking for adventure in the mountains, a peaceful wellness retreat, or simply somewhere to disconnect from the pace of everyday life, this place is truly special. Thank you to everyone at Rarău Retreat for an unforgettable stay. I look forward to returning ❤️

A fantastic hotel in all respects. Very comfortable, quiet, extremely high tech and modern. Kind and attentive staff are comfortable in a range of languages, and there is both a restaurant with delicious fancy cuisine, and a bistro for comfort food. Room service is possible. There is a lovely spa and conference facilities, and the convenient central location of the hotel is opposite a police station. A light breakfast is available, with cooked options also.

We had an amazing stay at Cabana Deac! From the moment we arrived, the host, Sofia, was incredibly welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect getaway. The house is situated on a hill, offering the most stunning view of the slope and mountains—it was truly breathtaking. It is cozy, well-equipped, and has a beautiful terrace. It’s also a great spot for families with kids, with plenty of space to relax. Another big plus is the location—everything you need is close by, including a supermarket, a park, and the ski slopes. It made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. We loved our time here and will definitely be coming back. We’ll also be recommending Cabana Deac to our friends and colleagues—it’s a place worth experiencing!

I have been a regular visitor on an almost annual basis and stayed at Complex Turistic Bucovina / Popas since the early 1990's. I have seen the hotel develop into the beautiful complex it is today. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, relaxing with very good food and service. I cannot fault this. I am saddened to hear the previous proprietor has more recently passed away as under her directions she helped develop the hotel into what it is today. Over the years I have regularly recommended my friends and family from the UK and other countries stay at Popas. They have always come away very happy with the service, accommodation and beautiful setting.

The location is ideal - a snowy vista and a few minutes walk to the monastery. We were able to use Bolt from Suceava airport for 200 Ron and it took an hour. Be aware bout doesn’t work in voronet so it’s a taxi and train back or get the number of your bolt driver - it’s also 59-75% more to get back as they charge more. We still felt it was worth it. The hotel is clean and comfortable with crisp white bed linen.

Beautiful mountain lodge. Huge. Two levels. Bathroom on each level. Bedrooms upstairs. This building is adjacent to a pool and other cabins but you would never know it. The windows overlook the forest and you feel inside the woods. Very peaceful and quiet. It also has floor heat and you can walk around without sweaters or extra clothes. The fireplace in the main room downstairs is very cosy.

Many things to do in the town (a great museum of ethnology - many rooms with precious exhibits, plus a 2-minute video in each room; Ariniș area, beautiful mountains when you look around), and good places around Gura Humorului as well - Vama, for instance, with its unique Egg Museum. I enjoyed the local market, the walk - it is so easy to get around in this town. People are friendly and helpful. It is a place where you can relax and unwind, maybe even do nothing much - which is so important once in a while. Just enjoy the view of the mountains, go for a hike, breathe in some fresh air, eat something healthy.

Suceava has many points of historical interest, starting with the ruins of the old voyevodal citadel, and the surrounding Moldavian orthodox churches. In the central park there is even a Roman Catholic church. Suceava is conveniently located so that nearby atractions could be easily reached. To the South there are the Agapia and Varatic monasteries and the ruins of the Neamtului citadel. To the North, towards the Ukrainian border, there are the most famous painted monasteries, dating back from the 15th and 17th centuries. A must see would be Dragomirna, Sucevita, Moldovita, Humor, Voronet and Putna. To see all these, and much more, one would have to plan for 2 or 3 days spent in the area.

City with history and local customs.

City with history and local customs. I run 77km Ultratrail as a Forst woman from Serbia ever here in Bukovina/Bucovina, and I was impressed. The people do not speak, or very poorly english, but similarity with slavic languages (as Serbian) and Roman languages - Italian and French, was more than enough to find out more about people. On Outdoor tested portal you will find some reiview of local food and restoran too. It is not place for clasic vacantion, but if you are trail runner of hiker, we recomend it for sure.

Voronet has remained a jewel of theology, art, history, beauty of nature, richness of tradition, excellent gastronomy and ocasion to resource oneself . The visitors should read about Saint Stephan the Great his courage, faith and devotion to his land, the way he defended the whole Europe and orthodoxy by standing against the invading turcs in the XV and XVI century. Everybody should try to read the frescoes patiently and attentively as they contain, beyond the esthetic of the images, true theological meaning and historical details relevant to everyone, as the end of life, the condition of the sinner, the Final judgement, paradise, hell, the universality of the church, the courage of martyrs, the beauty of Romanian landscape etc.

This is the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life and truly reconnect with the old country and nature. The scenery is beautiful in every direction, offering a peaceful backdrop that immediately slows you down and helps you breathe a little deeper. It’s an ideal spot for hikes through quiet hills and forests, where you can enjoy clean air, stunning views, and the simple pleasure of being outdoors. The traditional food is a highlight — authentic, comforting, and full of local flavor. It pairs perfectly with days spent exploring nearby historical sites that give you a deeper appreciation for the region’s heritage. Gura Humorului is an absolute gem in the heart of Bucovina, a place where history, culture, and nature come together beautifully. Perfectly situated near countless historical treasures, you can explore the cave of Daniel the Hermit, admire the breathtaking medieval Orthodox monasteries with their famous frescoes, and step back in time at the imposing medieval fortresses of the region. The landscapes are nothing short of magical, with rolling hills, lush forests, and picture-perfect views at every turn — often graced by the sight of graceful storks perched in the fields and rooftops. Adding to the charm is the vibrant farmer’s market, overflowing with healthy, locally grown produce and traditional delicacies that capture the authentic spirit of Romanian hospitality. Gura Humorului isn’t just a destination, it’s an experience of tradition, flavor, and timeless beauty.
