Beautiful place, room was very nice exactly as shown in photos, clean. Breakfast was good. Nearby the hotel is a small shop, restaurant and 2 mins away beach and lots of bars and restaurants. The host was super nice and helpful. Totally recommend! 😃

The lady who run the place is one of the nicest people i met in Thailand. I only stayed one night in Samet but the spot was really nice , cheap , close to the beach and the pier. It's clean and quiet without being isolated. If you can walk 5 minutes , it's really worth every penny.

We stayed at Baan Ploy Sea for two nights, in a jungle view room. The room was spacious and very clean, and very quiet through the night. Probably a better choice than the sea view rooms, which are right next to the little pool where kids start to play early in the morning. The restaurant is great, clearly one of the best on the island, and breakfast was delicious. Staff is very helpful. The beachfront is clean, and that part of the bay isn't too busy with boats. You can rent a paddle board or kayaks. An extra bonus is the incredibly smooth logistics from mainland to the island and back. If I ever return to Koh Samed, I know where to stay.

I travel a lot and this place is outstanding - the best resort I've stayed in. Beautiful villa, beautiful resort, wonderful white-sand beach and turquise water. Very pampering, everything thought of down to the smallest detail. The villa is very spacious, very well designed, the shower was a real treat. Great complimentary drinks at sunset upon arrivsl, daily afternoon tea. Nice breakfast buffet. Dinner on the beach was a great experience. Very highly recommended!

Me and my family (husband and 8 months baby) had an AMAZING time at Le Vimarn. We felt so taken care of - the service and the familiar approach was outstanding. I think this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at - and even though the facilities, the surroundings and room was awesome, it was the people who made it <3

Most definitely the most important thing is to hire a scooter (£10/day) as the Island may not be very big but is a place of great contrast There are some quite "rustic" places and some seriously good quality (at a price) places I discovered the luxury "Kiri Baya" resort right by the southernmost tip - very quite! Also, on the west coast is "Ao Prao" resort - a series of quality hotels and with no road trafic it is ideal for sunsets. You can get ferries direct there from Rayong Pier.

Koh Samet is a fairly easy ride from Bangkok, although the mini buses are not very comfortable. The speed boat ferries are great. The island was very crowded with all sorts in January. In order of numbers I’d say Chinese, Europeans, Russians, Indians, Thais, hardly any Israelis. The main beach was packed, but the atmosphere was quite good. I have been a few times over the last 40 years. I doubt that I would bother going back. It’s just too popular. But then so is Thailand in general!

Koh Samed is lovely and quaint.

Koh Samed is lovely and quaint. However, there is a lot of garbage when you drive around the island. Since it is a national park and there is an entrance fee, I suggest that more of that money could be spent cleaning up garbage.
