The ocean view villa was amazing. The interior atmosphere of the villa was so cozy with the local materials. The staff was really friendly, kind and smiley. The reception service was helpful and excellent english speaking. The territory of the the resort was stunning with the greens, flowers. Everything was clean and well organised. The beach, other bars, market and juices/smooth maker point were just few minutes walk from the resort. The beach was wonderful with the sunsets. It wasn't crowded. The menu of Reef Bar&Restaurant was delicious with colorful tastes. The cocktails were really creative and unique:)

We just loved the beaches !

We just loved the beaches ! But we found the main town was dirty , rubbish everywhere , there needs to be a big clean up / recycle campaign for sure The resort and its staff were amazing Thank you !

Most definitely the most important thing is to hire a scooter (£10/day) as the Island may not be very big but is a place of great contrast There are some quite "rustic" places and some seriously good quality (at a price) places I discovered the luxury "Kiri Baya" resort right by the southernmost tip - very quite! Also, on the west coast is "Ao Prao" resort - a series of quality hotels and with no road trafic it is ideal for sunsets. You can get ferries direct there from Rayong Pier.

Koh Samet is a fairly easy ride from Bangkok, although the mini buses are not very comfortable. The speed boat ferries are great. The island was very crowded with all sorts in January. In order of numbers I’d say Chinese, Europeans, Russians, Indians, Thais, hardly any Israelis. The main beach was packed, but the atmosphere was quite good. I have been a few times over the last 40 years. I doubt that I would bother going back. It’s just too popular. But then so is Thailand in general!
