Samed Tamarind Resort turned out to be the best beach hotel we’ve stayed at in all our years of traveling in Thailand. The villas are modern, spacious, clean, and surrounded by lush garden, which makes the whole place feel calm and comfortable. The location is perfect, the resort is right on a beautiful beach, with its own sun beds, so you don’t have to go anywhere to enjoy the sea. The food was another highlight, honestly some of the best meals we had in Thailand. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the first minute (they absolutely adored our baby, which was very sweet). We were genuinely sad to leave, and we’re already hoping we can come back soon.

Very hospital, lightful and cozy place! It's very pleasant to live in so beautiful and clean room, with really comfortable beds. Near are the beach and plenty of different restaurants with tasty food and normal prices. Breakfast was pretty good as well. I've noticed that the stairs could be too steep to senior people, but maybe this issue is solved somehow - it's better to ask an owner. In total - can strongly recommend Sky Cottage, we really felt care, love and skill invested in the place.

The resort is very peaceful as it's far from the main beaches. Ao Thian is small, but beautiful with clear water. I stayed in the Ocean Front Jacuzzi room. The views are amazing, and its balcony is in the perfect position to enjoy the live music and fire show that starts at 19:30 every night. The shower was very hot and very powerful. The wifi throughout the resort was excellent: 300Mbps to 500Mbps. The food at the restaurant was mostly excellent (chicken burger was a let down, but all the Thai food I ate was excellent). There was also a roti stall next to the resaurant, and the roti I had was delicious. Very friendly staff who speak good English. Up the hill there's a shortcut to Ao Wong Duean - Google Maps says it's a 20 minute walk via the main road but the shortcut takes 3 minutes (look out for the blue signs in Thai). There's a small store here called Tom Pizza Mini Mart which stocks the essentials, it's signposted half way along Ao Wong Duean so you can't miss it. You can do a nice walk from Ao Thian, to Ao Wong Duean, then Ao Chor, and finally Ao Nuan. Maybe you can go further but I didn't try. Be prepared to pay charter price (300 baht) for a songthaew to take you to Nadan, unless you want to wait and see if other guests want to travel and share the cost. The ride to/from Nadan takes about 20 minutes.

Amazing hotel to stay at during the island vacation. The rooms and the bathroom are very spacious and comfortable, daily cleaning. We loved the pool area as well, plenty of shadow in after lunch hours. The territory of the hotel is also very beautiful, green and well mantained. Breakfasts are awesome-great selection of both western and asian dishes, good quality tasty food. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Very nice location as well, you can get to the nearest beach in under a minute and in additional 2-5 minutes you can get to the shops, restaurants and amazing wild beach. Loved our stay and definitely coming back when visiting Koh Samet again :)

The setting of the resort is beautiful and the beach was perfect and great for lazing about all day on a sun lounger and swimming. My room was spacious and comfortable and the bed was the best I’ve slept on in Thailand. Lovely, private balcony to look out over the water. Sound proofing seemed good (or I just had very quiet neighbours). Staff were amazing - remembered who I was, were always so kind and couldn’t do enough to help me. I also enjoyed dining at both Breeze and Buzz Coco restaurants.

Koh Samet is the most underrated island in Thailand, I always stay at the Sky Cottage resort, which has a superb quiet location, and just 150m from a beach made in paradise. The restaurants and bars at beach side are the best on the island, with a very decent price range, and exceptionally good menu. The Trio bar was good fun too, nearby. Timtub beach and amenities are perfect, for a holiday from 3 days to 30 days, you will never get bored in this part of Koh Samet. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Ko Samed is quite close to Bangkok so while it is easy to reach (3hrs bus + 1hr ferry) it can be very busy on weekends and holidays. A longer journey may get you to islands further away but less busy. It is nonetheless a very pleasant place with nice beaches and a relaxed atmosphere

Nice beach & plenty of Restaurants. Fire shows on beach Restaurants are nice. A bit hectic walking on narrow streets with many scooters & cars/taxis. Be sure to check ferry schedule for coming & going. 5 or 6 Local Island boat/snorkeling tour is nice.
