The bungalow style room was super cute, I liked that he had like a separate area like a garden but it was actually enclosed The staff are super kind, we were scared of a spider in our room (even if it was not dangerous at all) and they kindly moved us to another room after trying to catch him

The hosts are very helpful and just lovely and interesting to chat to. We really enjoyed our stay at DD Garden Home. Although the location is far from the centre of town with a bit of patience it is not too difficult to use Grab to get back and forth. A motor bike would be ideal but we weren't comfortable renting one so we relied on Grab and it was fine for us. My husband borrowed a bicycle one day and had a lovely ride through the nearby rice fields. We did not order the breakfast but had a coffee (Americano which was very good) and a sandwich for breakfast.

A nice town located on a beautiful lake.

A nice town located on a beautiful lake. Not seemingly on the tourist trail for westerners which made it have a nice Thai feel. Try to include a Friday night as they have a large night market (maybe other nights too). Take a promenade along the lakeshore and watch the sunset over the lake.

Phayao itself is quite small and can easily be visited in one day but I think the surrounding area has much more to offer. I wish we could have stayed a bit longer to explore the natural parks and cafes nearby

Nice little town with good access on a lovely lake with mountains on the other side. Awesome sunsets. Some great temples. A vibrant night market and some cool bars and restaurants. Well worth a visit.
