Description Overlooking a lagoon, Matafonua Lodge offers beachfront accommodation in Lotofoa. The property has 2 boats, which are used for guest diving and whale watching tours.

"The Matafonua Lodge is a beautiful place to relax, wind down from stress at work and enjoy the wonderful underwater world. The moment you arrive at the lodge you step into a different world. The hosts Nina and Darren make you feel welcome immediately and throughout your stay make sure that everything perfect. The fales are simple (i.e. no bathroom) but have everything you need and the closeness to the ocean and the privacy by the way they are positioned throughout the property is exceptional. The shared bathrooms and toilets are good. Snorkelling and diving just at the doorsteps of the fales is amazing ... so many fish. The staff if excellent, super friendly and make every guest feel welcome. The included breakfast is simple, the cooked breakfast is awesome. The restaurant cooks up 1-2 different dinner selections and everything tasted very good. I only can recommend the Matafonua Lodge to everyone who wants to enjoy beautiful Tonga ... it doesn't get any better than that. I will definitely come back ... next time with my kids ... as it is a great and safe place for the kids too :-)"
