What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

Idyllic, serene, luxurious island resort with incredibly friendly staff, from the General Manager, Mr. Serrour and our host, Samuela, all the way down; all of whom went above and beyond to make our stay uniquely personal, memorable, enjoyable and relaxing. Some of the most fantastic Sunsets to enjoy as well. This all truly made it a one-of-a-kind stay and one we'll never forget surpassing all our expectations. Great choice of restaurants and food led by the amazing executive chef - Chef Giovanni, who was kind enough to create some incredible dining experiences for us. The Swahili breakfast is a must try. Also a special mention to Ju and William as well. Sad to leave and definitely hope to visit again sooner rather than later - I couldn't recommend a stay here enough! Thank you to all at Bawe - we wish you all the very best going forward!

Everything about this place was absolutely wonderful we honestly loved every single detail. We spent a truly beautiful and romantic time here with my fiancé. The food was amazing, the views were breathtaking, and the staff… simply incredible. We enjoyed the pools, admired the beautiful shells on the beach, and the breakfasts were so delicious that they felt like an attraction themselves we were genuinely excited for them every morning! We also had an unforgettable Valentine’s dinner, which made our stay even more special. This was truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The staff are kind, warm, and always smiling people who made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a peaceful, beautiful atmosphere. The rooms are lovely and perfectly maintained every day by wonderful people.

Zanzibar old town is not only nice itself but is also a starting point for other trips. Worth visiting in town: - Slavery memorial museum - st. Joseph Catholic Cathedral - local market - food market in Forodhani at night - small streets with souvenirs shops - Portuguese Arch Trips outside: - spice plantations - prison island - snorkeling - mangrove forests Old fort and museum was under renovation so I didnt visit. Don’t stay only in all inclusive hotel. Allow yourself to wonder and even get lost in the town.
