Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI did not like anything…the photos are absolutely not revealing the space, the comfort is rubbish and it’s old & creepy.
Nothing. It was old, creepy & not comfortable. We asked to be relocated to the Renaissance hotel which was a bit better, but doesn’t deserve a 4 stars hotel comfort. The baby bed was horrendous…never seem something like that. My son is 3 years old and slept with us as I could not possibly let him slip in this bed ( a cage, with a non existent mattress…a joke.

GermanyThe management gave us a room that smelled like paint. We arrived late at night after an 8 hour drive. They gave us a room high up but smelt like newly freshly painted walls and doors. Our first night we could not sleep. Myself, my husband and two children woke up with headaches and were extremely exhausted. The management company the next day didn’t bother to switch our rooms or compensate us for a night that went badly.
The location.

SpainRun-down apartments. All the rooms have an old and dusty carpet. It produced an allergic reaction to our son and we received zero solution (let alone empathy) from the staff. When we asked to have our room cleaned and hoovered we were told by staff that rooms are only cleaned every three days. When we asked to at least take out the dustbin with our baby’s used diapers we were told that in the meantime we could bring the garbage to the street ourselves… The fridge in the room didn’t work. We asked to have it fixed but no one came to repair it. When we decided to cut our stay short, the hotel wanted to charge us for the whole stay. All in all, extremely disappointing, especially the service with no empathy whatsoever to a problem we had with our son because of their old and dusty carpet and lack of cleanliness.

AustriaHardly anything to write Positive about it…..I wish I could give minus Stars… 1. If you wish to have Experience of Budget Hotel at the Cost of Marriott please stay here… 2. Old Apartments with Half finished renovations of Original Apartment… Result - Low quality Rooms / Apartments with 80’s / 90’s Interior.. don’t know how old are Curtains and how old are Carpets in Room… 3. Kitchen in Apartment is equipped with Absolutely irritating, Noisy Dishwasher and with very much low and budget supply of Kitchenette, Cutlery etc……e.g One Spoon per person 😞 4. It’s not our first experience to stay at Marriott…we booked Marriott Executive Apartments because it had Kitchen in it ….But this time we had the feeling of getting cheated and experience of spending Money on low quality Budget Apartment is of course irreversible……

BahamasThe lack of assistance from the staff especially the front desk and front desk managers, who were unaware. Also the lack of pertinent info not offered at the time of booking from Booking.com e.g. the checkin was not located at the property but at another affiliated hotel nearby. Also, that house keeping was not available on a daily basis. But to give a synopsis of several incidents that occur resulting in me and my family loosing trust in the Marriott brand, a brand that we have used for decades when traveling the world. We booked 4 rooms at the Marriott Executive Apartment Brussels via Booking.com & Cheap Tickets. Both bookings cited that we could make changes up to midnight the day before our arrival date by contacting the hotel directly. The hotel number was provided for ease of reference. Two days prior we contacted the hotel to adjust the arrival and departure on 2 of the apartments due to the airline scheduling/cancellation. The hotel response was that we can only make changes via Booking.com. Upon arrival the hotel repeated the same and we had to pay for 2 rooms that we could not use. Then upon entering the 2 bedroom apartment, we were extremely surprised by the uncleanlinesses of the apartment. At a quick glance it appeared sanitized and clean however, within minutes we found ourselves picking up debris left by the previous occupants such as used water bottles, used masks, etc.; By day three of our 8 day stay the water in the kitchen sink was foul. This being the water the hotel advised was safe to drink. We made three separate complaints and it was only upon our electrical issue on day five that the water issue was finally resolved. My family was still fully enjoying the property and willing to overlook all prior incidents until electricity went out during day five in the 2 bedroom apartment which we used as the meeting room as it was larger. Day 6 no power from 2am-9pm (This space is insufficient to complete this complaint).
The location was ideal and the facility was very adequate for my large family

That make unpleasure feeling being there.

United KingdomI arrived at the Marriot executive suites and went out for the evening shortly after I arrived so did not really take a look at the property. The following morning I took a shower only to find that there was no shower gel at all in the suite, so just showered with water. Tried to put the T.V on only to find that the remote control was broken. Went to make a coffee only to find that there were no Tea spoons at all in the kitchen so nothing to stir my coffee Went to iron a shirt and the electrical socket was hanging off the wall and when I tried to plug the iron in, it tripped the electrics in the property, this was dangerous and could have resulted in an electrical shock. This was a Health and safety issue. There were other minor issues one of the cupboard doors in the kitchen would not shut, another had a big scratch in it. And the quilt cover on the bed had a sizable tear in it. and the air conditioning was pathetic and did not cool the room down. I went to reception with my list of requests the maid put a bottle of shower gel on the table, she did not even put it in the bathroom, the remote control was replaced, however the electrics which was the most dangerous were not even touched and neither was any of my other requests. The room was not serviced at all whilst I was there. I paid 435.98 Euro for 2 nights in very sub standard 'Executive' apartment, how you can advertise these as 'Executive' I have no idea. I have taken photo's of everything, and I will be raising the issues to the Marriot management team. Last words Marriot Hotel in Brussels 'Hang your heads in Shame' if this is what you think is an acceptable service you do not deserve to be in business.

IcelandThe property is listed as having facilities for disabled guests, but the apartments are not accessible for disabled persons. The lobby is accessible but only via a very steep ramp. The doors inside the apartments are too narrow for walkers and small wheelchairs can not fit through to the shower room. The pool area is not accessible for disabled guests so we were unable to use those facilites. The apartments smelled musty.
The location was good as I had meetings at the European Parliament and lots of lovely restaurants around the hotel. Nice balcony and lovely windows. The apartment was nicely furnished.

United KingdomNot a 4 star accommodation. The couch and the nets had visible stains, the walls have patched holes, the furniture is tired and dated. We stayed 5 days which included one cleaning. I asked for the cleaning to be done on day 2 or day 3 of the stay and refused twice because the cleaning for this apartment had already been scheduled for the last of the stay. In the end, the cleaning was not done at all, because they don’t do cleaning in the last day of the stay. Ridiculous! I would have preferred an honest explanation, which probably was understaffing. Breakfast trays left on the corridor for 3 days. Also they had the linen truck picking up the metallic crates at 1AM! The noise was terrible.
Location is fine, but you have to be rather careful. I wouldn't recommend Rue de Dublin / Rue de Trone / Chau de Wavre after dark (not even afternoon, to be honest) - there is a Lidl around there - best to avoid it Shower room - modern and bright

PolandRidiculous prices of breakfasts - 25 euros (!!!) per person (paid separately), and all you get is scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, beans, awful sausages, salmon, cheap bread and cakes you can buy in the nearest supermarket for 1 euro. The same stuff every day! You had to beg for black tea almost every day - because they constantly ran out of it. TEA!!! The coffee machines were dirty, the mugs were dirty, and you had to ask the staff to bring them, because they were gone all the time. Poor English of the staff. The cleaning staff - zero English. The did not understand a thing. The waiters - basic survival English. The reception - I wanted to borrow a ruler. Not a chance. They DO NOT HAVE A RULER THERE :) You want to change the date of your departure and stay 2 days longer? Sure, but the reception will not do it. YOU HAVE TO do it yourself through the hotel booking webpage. Which means you have to make a new reservation - do a check out and then a new check in. The reception desk does not have such a possibility (!!!) The price for one night is absurd. I thought if one pays that much, they receive European standard. Nothing like that. They use Marriott brand-name, but they have nothing in common with Marriott.
It was supposed to be **** hotel. Not even close.
