Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BahamasI wish that there was a microwave in the actual rooms. It was very inconvenient to have to leave the comfort of your room to go to a general area where the washer and dryers are to heat food. I also wish that the breakfast was complimentary instead of a daily additional charge for that each day. There was also no hot water to shower, and though we let the staff know, there was nothing done to rectify this. They said they would send the maintenance person and that never happened. There were not a lot of options in English to watch cable in the rooms. Almost all the channels were in spanish, so that made it hard to enjoy relaxing in the room and watching anything.
I liked the location of the hotel and I liked that the property was beautiful and the rooms were extremely clean.

NetherlandsBreakfast to go had not a lot of choices. Also there is a card in your room saying housekeeping will be there every day, but only changes your sheets on request; this is incorrect housekeeping only comes every other day.
Hotel is very well maintained and rooms have a nice size. I checked in way before official check in time and I was nicely helped. Due to COVID some things were of different standard, breakfast is only take out, which has to be ordered one day in advance with not a lot of choice as you would have on a buffet spread. Bars and restaurant on hotel grounds are good and more choices are available in a 3 minute walk. I will definitely come back.

United States of AmericaAC settings could be more flexible. 72 degrees max for AC is to low. I would prefer to save the environment and if it would allow to keep it at about 74 it would be nice. Trying to go greener.... Thanks.

United States of AmericaThe check-in process was tedious and should have been sped up. The guest service agent did not seem to know guest room preferences that had been communicated at the time of booking.
I did not have breakfast but dined at Restaurant SABOR on two occasions. In both instances the food and service were great.

Excellent location - within walking/driving distance of other amenities and shops - friendly staff - Covid protocols being observed - hand sanitizing stations were in key and strategic locations - security officers on the property made us feel secure

United States of AmericaNothing. The Pelican was the perfect way to end our family vacation.
Loved everything at the Pelican. It was very much a Happy Hotel. Staff were happy and friendly. Walking distance to Port Lucaya Market and Unexso for shopping and potential additional water activities. Bar staff was friendly. Loved the multiple, well-maintained pools. Property looked very fresh, clean and updated. Easy walk to a delicious dinner at the Flying Fish Gastropub which was excellent. Easy to get to a grocery store if needed. Front desk staff accommodated an early check-in so we could get some perishable food into our refrigerator. We very much appreciated this extra help.

CanadaA couple of times our towels were removed when the room was cleaned and not replaced so we had to ask for more. Overall the staff are not particularly friendly but the speed of communication etc is fine.
The room was a very good size but relatively basic. It had a nice balcony and the bathroom was fine. The hotel is in a very good location with great pool facilities and a breakfast option (not great if you are vegetarian) but pretty acceptable.

United States of AmericaBreakfast was disappointing. Too many cooked options, but limited fruit and cereal, and no yogurt. Breads, cold meats, and cheeses were supermarket packaged items. The room was very nice but with a variety of minor maintenance issues: hairdryer was falling off the wall with loose wiring, cold water faucet was “frozen” at one of the bathroom sink so there was no cold water at that sink. And why provide nice cups and plates, but no knives, forks, and spoons, and no detergent, wash cloth or towel, so guests can clean up after themselves?
Facility was attractive and quiet. Our view was lovely. Sabor had a nice variety of menu options, even though the menu was not extensive. The meals we chose were tasty and well prepared.

CanadaFor the price the hotel is charging I expected a more modern, first rate hotel. # I liked the hotel's proximity to the market and scooter/car rental. # The hotel staff is okay-good, some interactions were good. # The hotel room was okay. Expected a more modern kind of room with a microwave, again for the price they are charging. The bathroom shower head was a bit faulty (partially blocked). # Laundry - only 2 washers and 2 dryers for a facility this expensive. The dryer doesn't have time display so you have to kinda guess and show up early to ensure other people don't put your clothes out. The laundry room also didn't feel clean. # The breakfast was a big disappointment. It closes at 9:30 and we reached at 8:30. Almost all the main food was out - scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit slices. We had to wait almost 30 minutes for refills and then there were so many people competing. They charge $20 per person so I don't expect this to be an issue. It is also a short walk from the the main property so consider that before deciding to go there especially if it's raining. We didn't go there the next day and ate at Wendy's which is a short distance from there, much better pancakes. # For a waterside room, much of the view was blocked by huge palm trees. It was also next to hammocks which was an issue because of some noisy kids (I understand kids want to have fun but the hammocks could be away from the rooms). # The wifi in our room was a bit spotty. It worked better in the balcony than inside the room.
The property is in a good location, next to a beach, market and scooter/car rental.

United States of AmericaWe wanted to save some money by not doing an all-inclusive. This was a wash because its a short walk to Port Lucaya where you'll pay top-dollar for every meal. $14 BLT sandwiches for instance. We were lucky to not spend $50 for each meal not including drinks. The hotel also gives you a litre of water when you get there. You can buy water bottles but expect to spend $2-3 per bottle (and more). I ended up buying a case from the liquor store by Wendy's and walking it back. A 40 case for about $22 bucks. In 3 days we drank almost the entire case plus what we drank while out and about. While the staff was extremely nice, you need to ask them if you need anything. No brochures or things in the room for what to do besides Port Lucaya. If I had to do it over, I would have booked online for anything. Prices online were significantly cheaper than what the front staff had at the front desk and what they had at the front desk seemed to be outdated. If I was to stay here again, I'd definitely be renting transportation. We had 3 people so we didn't want to rent two scooters at $58 each per day and I would have spent more time booking things to do online than waiting until we were at the resort.
The entire staff was extremely nice and respectful. Everyone from the people cleaning rooms, and pools to the front desk were friendly and smiling. The room itself was clean, cold, and up to date. Not a lot of thrills, but we weren't expecting them in the room. The beds were clean and comfy. Softer than what I am used too, but I slept wonderfully each night. We took the Ferry twice over to Taino Beach which is a wonderful beach. Its off-season so we got stuck over there while the ferry wasn't running during a thunderstorm, but we nearly had the beach to ourselves. Less than 20 or so people for both of our afternoons at the beach. Very awesome and it was like a ghost town overall. We had a good Friday night in Port Lucaya partying and was quiet most of the trip. Perfect balance.

Bahamas1. After a long day checkin time was 3pm but was not able to get a room until about 5pm, 2 hours later. 2. My reservation of 2 nights and cost through booking.com was not honored. At checkin I did not realize the hotel had only booked me in the room for 1 night and was charged at their nightly rates. I went out the following day came back and was locked out of the room. Went to the front desk to have the swipe reprogrammed that's when I found out that they had already checked me out the room, I explained to her that I booked through booking.com for 2 nights she confirmed that I did however I later found out that I was charged another nights stay at their higher cost. 3. I choose booking.com to book my reservation because of their reasonable rates for nice hotels. With that being said if this hotel won't honor reservation made through booking.com I won't stay there again.
My stay was comfortable room was nice.......
