Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Very basic but that's all they hold out to be. Super nice people. Could be a lot of fun for young people or families. Great common cooking area. Love being in town vs being up on the hill

CanadaI was a bit uncertain about how to check out. I wasn't aware that they would take care of the bed linens. I've had to drop them in a basket at other hostels. Also, I didn't have a towel for the shower and didn't realize this until the morning. I was up before the office opened, so I had to use my clothes from the previous day to dry off with. Heads up, if you need a towel, it might be good to ask at check-in.
Great hostel! Love the pods over a bunk. It's waaaaay better. Highly recommend! On-site pub. I stayed a Monday night, and there was an open mic night, which was a very good surprise.

CanadaThe bed was a little uncomfortable. Was not able to sleep all that well. The pods are small and I'm a big guy, so really not the fault of the establishment.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Gave a great recommendation for some good food and a great place to watch the hockey game only a short walk away. Walking distance to most necessities. The place was clean and quiet while I was there.

UkraineNoisy pub downstairs, though they made an effort to sound proof, you can still hear it when the room is quiet (when you try to sp sleep). The central heating has been pumped up to Sahara-level heat, to cool the place down and get any air, you have to open a small window into the hallway, where everyone is walking back and fourth, right in front of it too (all rooms are like this). You will love this place if you have fun at the bar downstairs and then crash in the room to sleep it off. Not the greatest experience if you like the quiet and the privacy.
Nice owners. Place has a cool vibe to it. Beds were okay, it was clean.

CanadaPerhaps a bit more of basic foods in the kitchen, like salt, pepper, oil,... as some people just stop by a night or two and cannot carry all of these cooking basics with them. However, pots, pans and cooking tools were fine to me.
As for my other stay in Jasper, very clean, warm and nicely organized hostel. Awesome kitchen, which I used both for dinner and breakfast.

CanadaI didn't like that I couldn't book for a month stay. But they have there reasons. There wasn't much to dislike really. The mattresses in the pod rooms are not to comfy, but when your looking for cheaper rates, you can't expect crem da la crem! Everyone is different. If you don't mind meeting new people or sharing space with them, it's not for you. They have private rooms. I haven't stayed in one so I cannot rate that as of yet. Hope this helps.
I've never stayed in a hostel/hotel before. I started work in B.C and booked a tent site down the road. The payment system they had made it difficult to continue staying there. I needed a decent, affordable place to stay and fast. the Elk Adventure lodge was the only place under the 60$ a nite range so I booked it for the rest of my 2 week stay. I got a pod room which is on the hostel side of the hotel. it was very neat to see. It was like staying in a fort that my daughter and I make at home. the place was very clean. Cleaner than I expected that's for sure. 4 woman's showers and shared washroom. Staff was very Friendly and polite. I enjoyed the family game room, theater room, and open shared kitchen. was like being at home. There is a lounge connected to the place as well and it was still nice and quiet even with other people in the room. the respect was shared amongst strangers so others could sleep.

CanadaThin walls. We could hear our neighbours clearly.
Great location but thin walls. Nice staff and a fun atmosphere. We arrived on karaoke night and it was loud in our room. But we were so tired it didn’t matter. This is more like a hostel than a hotel but it had availability when other properties didn’t.

CanadaWe were given a room above the bar and were not able to sleep till midnight because it was (Thursday)Karaoke night. Suffice to say we did not have a great sleep.
The location was good. We needed a place to stop on our way to a funeral in Grand Forks and it was the cheapest we could find. It was clean and we had our own private bathroom and a nice view of the mountains from our room.

CanadaI guess it would be great if you were 20 and cruising with your bahds. They only gave us 2 bath towels in a "Family Room" that sleeps 5, no hand towels, no faceclothes. The bathtub had no plug, but considering it only had a showerhead and no faucet, I guess that kinda made sense. The bathroom "mirror" was 4 small square stick-on tiles that were spaced apart with two horizontal and two turned 45 degrees. There's only one outlet in the room, good thing I carry a powerbar. No AC but a couple of fans in the room. (Which would have used up both outlets if not for the powerbar I mentioned previously.) It was super hot in our room, I didn't even cover up with the sheet. The key was mostly pointless since I could slide the window open from the outside , reach in, and turn the doorknob from inside - but you need your key to access the hallway where the rooms are, so it served a small purpose. I guess they had a Nazi as a guest once because there was a swastika drawn in the emergency stairwell that was only partially erased - someone tried to make it a pinwheel reading "FOOL," but it was still obvious. They also take a $100 damage deposit on the room, which is kinda hilarious.
There were beds for all of us and it was clean. Great location with easy access to nice cafes and restaurants.

CanadaI booked a pod, so no breakfast was provided, and that is perfectly okay. I wanted basic accommodation as a stop-over on my trip to Penticton and the pod worked out very well. The shared shower and bathroom was much appreciated, as the drive to get here was long and quite hot.
