Needed a microwave to heat up leftover dinners. Felt very wasteful and anti-climate to have to throw good food away. Also, would be reasonable to offer tea and coffee all day. Needed instructions for the coffee machine, as it showed an error and we could not fix it.

Not a bad thing but it is the furtherest property from main village and it’s a good walk to get to the village. Of course, there are buses available but not after 8.30 pm

Hotel Matthiol embodies the essence of true hospitality! We felt at ease, taken care of, well regarded and helped with anything we needed! Amazing sense of details, high quality materials, design and equipments. Everything very clean, beautiful and functional. We truly enjoyed every corner of this property.. And the sauna in the room??!! Wow.. Little private fondue houses with the most amazing generous fondue!! Also appreciated the location that's on the more far end but thus gives spaciousness around, total silence and peaceful vibe. Town easily accessible by bus or walk, so no issue at all.. Found what I was looking for a beautiful holiday and more!! Thank you!!

There is nothing we did not like

Superb staff who where always on hand and always courtesy, friendly day and would do anything to help us. The room was fantastic. Bath at the end of the bed, steamroom and sauna also in the room. We where blown away by the facilities. We will revised in a heartbeat. There is a wellness center which was perfect. We also had massages which was much needed and very relaxing 😌

We could not fault our stay at the Matthiol! We stayed for a week for our winter Honeymoon and to ski, and it was absolutely perfect! The rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious. The views are gorgeous and the location is just a short walk from one of the free bus stops. The breakfast buffet was THE BEST we have ever had, and the restaurant, Filet et Fils, was brilliant (the fondue huts were also a delicious and cool experience). The staff and service were absolute stand-outs. They were so helpful, providing recommendations and helping to coordinate ski hire etc. We will definitely come back next time we're in Zermatt, and we can't wait to stay again. Thank you to the Matthiol for making our Honeymoon so special!

It is quite pricey but thats just zermatt it seems. The food was very nice, but quite expensive. 1. Room service is an additional charge, and they got our order wrong so my partner had to watch me finish my food while they fix his one, and we were not compensated for having to wait additional time. 2. The bed had 2 singe duvets instead of 1 double, which was a bit uncomfortable, so we didn’t have good night sleep.

We loved our room facilities. We had the Spa Room and it was very nice and clean. The staff are really friendly and so helpful. 1. Free pick up from and to Zermatt station. 2. Helped me to arrange a surprise for my boyfriend’s birthday. They decorated the room, I asked them to give me nice cake places, so I ordered the birthday cake and they picked it up for me. It was amazing. 3. They helped me to book ski equipment and gave me list with restaurants in the area. 4. The food was so good. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious. 5. Rooms super clean and tidy. 6. Great views and privacy.

The perfect location for a quiet and peaceful rest in the middle of the pine trees and at the end of a forest path to to ski-in after a spectacular day on the mountain. Truly amazing.

It was truly the best experience. The staff were very friendly, and although the location of the accommodation was a bit rough, it was comfortable thanks to the luggage transportation service. The accommodation was comfortable and perfect, from the sauna facilities to the gym. The bedding was also very good. My wife was also very satisfied. This is an accommodation I want to come back to again in the future.
